Vikings star Alexander Ludwig has just gone and dropped a picture we all didn’t know we needed to see until now.

Yes, the 27-year-old, who plays Bjorn in the History Channel hit, has randomly met up with Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo.

And we are so here for them both.

Taking to his Instagram story, Alex shared a picture of himself beaming into the camera next to the 16-year-old.

In the caption he wrote: ‘My Dude,’ before tagging the child star in in the snap.

The pair appeared to be in high spirits, and were seemingly enjoying time together while meeting fans at a comic-con.

Alexander is currently filming the new Bad Boys For Life movie, alongside Vanessa Hudgens and Will Smith.

And it seems as though he is being spoiled by his new cast mates, after getting treated to an abundance of gift from the Men In Black star.

After flaunting the results of his strict new health regime, firmly putting all evidence of king Bjorn to bed, Alex shared a picture of the lavish presents he’d received.

‘Working with @willsmith and @martinlawrence is like working with Santa clause….except they can rap better [sic],’ he wrote on Instagram to his 1.9 million followers.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BuuhUIKA6J1/?utm_source=ig_embed

‘Seriously the generosity on this set is overwhelming. Every other day there’s a new gift in my trailer….it’s enough of a gift to get to learn from the best. Beyond grateful to be included in the fam.

‘Thank you guys for making it such an incredible experience. #badboysforlife.’

With no traces left of his Vikings character, it seems Alexander has well and truly moved on from the role.

History confirmed the epic will close after its sixth series and the cast are now lapping up the offers, which have been coming their way thick and fast.

While Alexander is about to start in one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year, Katheryn Winnick is basically taking over Netflix in both the film Polar and her new series, Assassins Wu.

Clive Standen, who plays Rolo, also revealed that he’s joined the cast of Council of Dads, which has recently been picked up to series.

Sandra Oh reveals Killing Eve season 2 relates to people who have had ‘bad, obsessive relationships’

Sandra Oh says Killing Eve season two will resonate with people who ‘struggle with addiction’.

Oh, who plays Eve on the show, has described the game of cat and mouse between her character Eve and assassin Villanelle as ‘an obsessive relationship’.

The former Grey’s Anatomy star hinted that she can relate to the drama for this reason, but annoyingly didn’t want to go any further.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Oh said: ‘We really dive into the relationship between Eve and Villanelle.

‘If you’ve been in a bad, obsessive relationship, or if you’ve struggled with addiction, you’ll relate. I have and…. Let’s leave it at that.’

The actress added that she had to stop partying in order to stay fresh for the shoot, which took place across Europe – including London – for six months.

She joked: ‘I cut all my regular vices, but I don’t miss it. That’s what I love about getting older, your focus changes. All I care about is being on point to do the work that I love.’

Killing Eve, which has already been renewed for season three, is currently airing in the US and will arrive in the UK at a later date.

However the first season, written and created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is still up for a string of TV Baftas which will be handed out today (12 May).

Bafta defended the nominations after the show’s eligibility was called into question.

Bafta’s TV awards eligibility rules state that ‘programmes must have had their first transmission in the UK between 1 January and 31 December 2018’ and that ‘the programme must have had the worldwide premiere transmission in the UK’.

Killing Eve had its premiere in April on BBC America, which is owned by the BBC and American channel AMC, and considered a totally separate body to the BBC.

It aired in the UK on BBC Three and later BBC One last September.

Under the rules Killing Eve should not necessarily qualify for the categories it has landed in.

Bafta defended the nominations in a statement to Metro.co.uk, noting the ‘significant creative contribution from UK talent’.

Bafta said: ‘BAFTA’s Television Committee deems Killing Eve a British series.

‘Killing Eve received 14 nominations, 9 of which were eligible under BAFTA’s criteria, and 5 of which were deemed eligible by the TV committee due to the significant creative contribution from key UK talent throughout the production.

‘The Television committee is the arbiter of all eligibility.’

Russell T Davies’ A Very English Scandal scored 12 nods including best actor and supporting actor for Hugh Grant and Ben Wishaw respectively.

Killing Eve season two will air on the BBC at a date to be confirmed. Season one is available on BBC iPlayer.

First Look at Family Guy’s touching Adam West tribute ahead of season 17 finale

Family Guy is set to pay tribute to Adam West in its upcoming season 17 finale episode tonight.

Batman’s Adam passed away aged 88 in 2017 and was a recurring cast member in the cartoon comedy, playing a fictional version of himself as the mayor of Quahog.

Fox has dropped a first look of the touching tribute to honour the actor, which sees Brian the dog suggest that the James Wood High school is renamed to Adam West High before he reveals his plans to run for mayor himself.

‘James Woods is an embarrassment to Quahog,’ Brian tells the rest of the Griffins. ‘He’s a political troll and a maniac on Twitter.’

Louis thinks Brian’s idea is fabulous and tells him to meet with the principal to get the wheels in motion, while Peter makes a ‘special video dedication reminding people how great Mayor West was.’

The minute-long dedication plays out to Richard Marx’s classic Right Here Waiting and it’s a bit of a tearjerker.

Executive producer Richard Appel previously teased the clip to Entertainment Weekly, telling them: ‘Mayor West makes an appearance at the end of the episode, so the whole episode is bookended by our tribute to him, and there’s a sense certainly in the episode that he’s not replaceable.’

Family Guy has paid homage to Adam a number of times across the last two seasons, including a tribute card and a nine-minute highlight reel of his work.

In 2018, the show broadcast several new episodes featuring the Hollywood legend.

At the time of Adam’s passing, executive producer Steve Callaghan added to the publication: ”Adam West’s legacy in the Family Guy universe is that of an incredibly kind, upbeat, and hysterical man who played an incredibly kind, upbeat, and hysterical  – but also totally insane  –version of himself.’

Meanwhile, show creator Seth MacFarlane said: ‘We will miss him greatly and truly think of him as utterly irreplaceable.’

Family Guy continues Sunday 12 May on Fox.

Kaley Cuoco has cleared up confusion surrounding The Big Bang Theory’s season 12 finale in a few days time, explaining to audiences that the last episode will be a two-parter.

The actress, who plays Penny on the CBS comedy, took to Instagram to explain that the sitcom will be laid to rest on Thursday in one hour.

‘Okay, little Big Bang announcement,’ Kaley began. ‘This is proof that I do read the comments on my Instagram.

‘People are freaking out because they thought there were two episodes left of Big Bang and on the last episode is said that next week is the final.

‘It’s back to back episodes. It’s technically two episodes, it’s a “to be continued”, so it’s two back to back episodes, an hour-long finale. That’s what they mean.

‘Technically it’s in one night, bit it’s two episodes so don’t panic.’

Kaley continued: ‘Reminder, I think ET is doing a big special on the show right before and then you have the hour Big Bang and then Johnny [Galecki] and I host a special I believe after Young Sheldon.

The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco

‘Young Sheldon also has, I think, a beautiful homage to The Big Bang Theory cast, which I’m really excited to see.

‘So you have hours of Big Bang next Thursday all in a row. Don’t miss it and enjoy.’

The Big Bang Theory’s final two episodes are titled The Constant Change and The Stockholm Syndrome with the synopsis teasing: ‘Sheldon and Amy await big news.

‘Then, Bernadette and Wolowitz leave their kids for the first time; Penny and Leonard try to keep a secret; Sheldon and Amy stick together; and Koothrappali makes a new friend, as the gang travels together into an uncharted future.’

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays on CBS in the US and on E4 in the UK.

Piers Morgan suffers ‘worst moment of my career’ on The Chase and blames jetlag for his poor performance

Piers Morgan has recalled a cringe-worthy moment while filming an episode of The Chase with Susanna Reid.

The Good Morning Britain duo were joined by Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold for the special, and Piers soon came to regret agreeing to it.

The presenter revealed that the studio audience booed him when he came onto the stage, and things got worse from there as he struggled through the first round with ‘the intellectual firepower of a Love Island contestant’.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, he said: ‘I can’t say exactly what happened next because the episode doesn’t air until November.

‘But I can disclose that I suffered the single worst moment of my entire 15-year career in live television at the start of my Cash Builder round (where contestants get £1,000 for every correct answer to rapid-fire questions) when my brain froze so badly I felt sweat bursting through every pore and my innards start to self-combust with terror.’

He added that his co-host expressed ‘shock, horror, bemusement and hilarity that I was exposing myself to the world as a complete halfwit.’

Piers humbly admitted that The Chase is much, much harder than it looks when you’re watching from your sofa yelling out the answers at the telly in frustration.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw4o03PDO89/

He put his poor performance down to a combination of a 4am start for GMB and being jet-legged after his three-week break in America.

Meanwhile Susanna shared a picture of herself on the iconic set with presenter Bradley Walsh.

She added the message: ‘Had fun doing The Chase on Team GMB with this legend at the helm. Comes out in November.’

Shame we’re going to have to wait until then before we see the episode for ourselves.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.

The Society showrunner reveals potential season 2 storylines and addresses scope for more

Netflix's The Society, Allie and Casandra
The Society showrunner has mapped out a number of seasons for the show (Picture: Netflix)

The Society dropped 10 episodes onto Netflix on Friday and has already got us hungry for a second season.

The teen drama, starring Kathryn Newton, Gideon Adlon, Jack Mulhern and Sean Berdy, follows a group of school kids who are mysteriously transported into a replica of their hometown with no trace of their parents, and they’re stuck there indefinitely.

Season one ended on an almighty cliffhanger and luckily showrunner Chris Keyser has revealed to Metro.co.uk what could go down in the second installment if it’s renewed by the streaming giant – and also teased plans for even more series.

Speaking about the next chapter, Chris revealed: ‘Now we’re getting to the part where people are beginning to actually punish people who disagree with them and that’s a real risk.

‘And now other things are at stake, with resources running thin.’

He continued: ‘What will happen, we don’t know. What kind of world will Harry and Campbell implement when they take over?

‘Will there be classes of society with people working for other people?

‘There are all kinds of different questions we get to explore in that. I promise you that if this goes on long enough, this will not be the final answers to how power is exercised. It’s a fluid thing.’

Cast members of Netflix's The Society
The Society could go on for many series (Picture: Netflix)

Although Netflix has yet to officially confirm whether The Society has been renewed, Chris is hoping that the show could go on for years.

‘We don’t have it all worked out, but we have lots of ideas of where we want to go,’ he told us.

‘We’re on our own personal cliff-hanger right now. I would hope so [that The Society is officially renewed for a second season].

‘I think that it’s a large cast, no one comes in from the outside, those alliances and power sharing all shift and there are lots of places to go.’

He added: ‘In some ways the whole world is open to us, these kids are in their own world. I don’t just mean the politics of it, but the relationships, all of that stuff.

‘We’re reliant on an audience demand but we’re ready to provide that. We also have an end in mind, we know where we want to go to.’

The Society is available to stream on Netflix.

The Society was originally axed by Showtime: Inside the history of Netflix’s latest mystery series

Netflix's The Society
The Society was originally binned by Showtime (Picture: Netflix)

The Society landed on Netflix on Friday and has already got us completely hooked, but it’s been a very long time in the making.

The teen drama, starring Kathryn Newton, Gideon Adlon and Sam Berdy, tells the story of a group of young adults who are mysteriously transported to their empty hometown without a trace of their parents, forcing them to take action and decide what rules they want to live by.

A quick look at the Twitter hashtag shows that viewers are obsessing hard over the new series, which could have arrived on our screens five years ago if Showtime hadn’t have rejected it, leaving it on the shelf for half a decade.

Showrunner Chris Keyser, who also teased storylines for a second season, revealed the network’s baffling veto exclusively to Metro.co.uk, explaining: ‘Marc Webb and I developed it five years ago. I wrote a pilot for Showtime and they passed on it.

‘It sat in a drawer until Netflix said, “Hey, we know about this, this must go out.” In the meantime, the world had moved into a direction of making the show more relevant, strangely.’

It’s pretty clear to see that Lord of The Flies bared some influence on The Society and Chris has used it in a way to make us take a look at the bigger picture.

‘There’s this society where there are no rules and they have to figure everything out for themselves,’ he continued. ‘And then you have that large question of, “Are we headed towards order or chaos?”‘

Will and Cassandra The Society
The Society was kept in a drawer for five years (Picture: Netflix)

Chris added: ‘I didn’t want to repeat things that had been done before, so I wanted to do it with these kids on the verge of adults.

‘They’re at this point where they’re coming into this moment where they’re going to have to start taking charge of their own lives and making their own way in the world in which they’ve inherited.

‘I wanted to do it as far as I could without the intervention of any kind of outside forces. Once they are put in this place they are entirely at risk from each other and nothing else.

‘There’s nothing that’s coming in from the outside world that’s going to affect the edge of this. It’s all about human communication.

‘It’s also a question of, “How did we get here? Could we do a better job?” That was another big question that I wanted to ask, “How would you create it and do it again? Could we do it better or are we destined to screw it all up?”‘

The Society is available to stream on Netflix.

ITV has captured viewers’ hearts with its adventurous comedy drama The Durrells.

The series is based on Gerard Durrell’s autobiographical books about him and his family, and the four years they spent in Corfu during the mid to late 30s.

It features Bafta nominee Keeley Hawes, who appeared in BBC’s Bodyguard, in the lead role as Louisa Durrell, a woman who moves from Bournemouth to the small Greek island with her three children after the death of her husband.

The Durrells will return on ITV tonight at 8pm for the series finale – but is this the end for family of five?

Will there be another series of The Durrells on ITV?

The bad news is that there won’t be any more episodes of the show, so this is the fourth and final series.

The new series has consisted of six episodes in total and tonight’s episode will conclude the family’s story as they plan to return to England.

Keeley reprised her role for the new series as Louisa, along with her on-screen kids: Lawrence (Josh O’Connor), Gerry (Milo Parker), Leslie (Callum Woodhouse), and Margo (Daisy Waterstone).

And let’s not forget Spiros Halikiopoulos (Alexis Georgoulis), the friendly taxi driver and family friend, who has become Louisa’s love interest.

Things haven’t been looking good for the couple but fans are hoping the they will repair their relationship and finally get together for a romantic ending before the series leaves TV screens for good.

Executive producer Sally Woodward said: ‘It has been such an incredible journey following this warm and enchanting family come of age. But their adventures on the island have reached a natural conclusion.

‘I can’t think about it without crying though…’

And she’s probably not the only one.

Get the tissues ready and tune in tonight at 8pm.

Daisy May Cooper wins best dressed as she turns up to Bafta TV Awards in 16 litre bin bag

Daisy May Cooper has arrived at the 2019 Bafta Awards in a 16-litre bin bag with a train covered in rubbish.

The 33-year-old actress, who is nominated for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme for her role as Kerry in BBC Three’s This Country, glided across the red carpet in the black gown, easily putting a number of last week’s Met Gala looks to shame.

Cereal packaging, fizzy drinks cans, chocolate bar wrappers and rubber gloves were just some of the items that Daisy dragged behind her as she entered the Royal Festival Hall on London’s Southbank.

Oh, and if that wasn’t enough Daisy also rocked a dustbin lid on her head, complete with a pigeon and egg shells.

According to reports, Daisy’s mum made the garment for her as she opted to donate money to a food bank rather than splashing out on a designer frock for the occasion.

‘I decided I would donate the money I would spend on a normal dress to a food bank and come as a bin bag,’ she told cameras.

‘My mum and her two friends concocted this in about three days which is amazing.’

Yep, Daisy is officially our hero.

This isn’t the first time Daisy has worn something unusual on the red carpet.

In 2018, the comedian opted for a red Swindon Town number and with a pair of football socks at the TV Baftas.

Daisy scooped the award for Best Scripted Comedy and Best Female Comedy Performance and accepted the prizes barefoot.

A true queen.

This year, Daisy’s up against Jessica Hynes, Julia Davis and Lesley Manville. Will she hurl a piece of trash if she doesn’t win? We’re kind of hoping so.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas says she has a hole in her heart now that Darcey Bussell has left.

The former ballerina recently announced she would be quitting the show after an amazing seven series.

And it sounds as though her fellow judges are going to miss the star a lot.

When chatting to Metro.co.uk at the TV Baftas, in London, Shirley opened up about her friendship with the dancer.

She told us: ‘I have a hole in my heart she is leaving, but we managed to do the Strictly tour.

‘And in the dressing rooms, she was just the most magnificent person.’

When asked if there is anyone in line to replace Darcey, the 58-year-old said: ‘The BBC will pick someone who is qualified and fits in with the panel.

‘There’s four of us so they have to gel well and pick someone who is sensational.’

Just last month, Darcey revealed she would be leaving behind the head judge as well as Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.

The 49-year-old said: ‘It has been a complete privilege for me to be part of Strictly, working with such a talented team.

‘I have enjoyed every minute of my time and will miss everyone from my fellow judges, the presenters, the dancers, the musicians, the entire backstage team, and especially the viewers of the show, who have been so supportive.

‘I am not leaving because of any upset or disagreement at all, I am just stepping away to give more focus to my many other commitments in dance, after seven truly wonderful years that I can’t imagine having gone any better.’

Darcey joined the BBC One show in 2010, replacing Alesha Dixon on the panel – who in turn replaced Arlene Phillips.

Craig and Bruno have been on the panel since the first series, while original head judge Len Goodman vacated his seat after the 14th series.

And Shirley has taken the head judge role for the past two years.

Graham Norton has taken no prisoners in his hilarious opening speech as host for tonight’s Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards at Royal Market Hall.

The host opened with a speech about Strictly Come Dancing’s Seann Walsh, who was embroiled in a scandal last year.

It should have come of no real surprise, seeing as he did warn those gathered in the event space by dropping a reference to the usual ‘snarky, mean-spirited jokes’ hosts usually wheel out during awards.

What were we expecting?

Wanting to draw reference to comedian Seann, who was caught kissing pro dancer Katya Jones, who is married to fellow pro Neil Jones, just weeks into 2018’s season of Strictly, Graham felt like kicking the boot in.

And the audience was here for it.

Seann Walsh and Katya Jones
Seann and Katya were in his sights (Picture: BBC PICTURE ARCHIVES)

Speaking about Line Of Duty he said to the star-studded crowd: ‘The interviews, they’re incredible.

‘A more forensically detailed interrogation of times dates and mobile phone data hasn’t been seen since that time Seann Walsh got home late from Strictly practice.’

Oh, he went there.

He added: ‘You snog one dancer…’

Graham also took aim at Danny Baker, following a ‘racist’ tweet that saw the BBC 5 Live presenter fired last week.

Trying to segue from Great British Bake Off, he said: ‘After an error of judgement a baker gets kicked out. This week it was Danny.’

Ouch! Making reference to the fact he lost his job, Graham added: ‘Literally a showstopper.’

Tonight will see 24 awards presented across a range of categories.

Killing Eve leads the group with 14 nominations including leading actress for both Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.

So far we’ve seen the likes of Patrick Melrose win for mini series while A League Of Their Own took out comedy entertainment programme.

The Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards, airs at 8pm on BBC One tonight.

Is there going to be a series 4 of ITV’s Victoria?

(Picture: ITV)

Victoria has been one of the most popular dramas on ITV and in the US since the first series aired in 2016.

Jenna Coleman plays the title character and so far the show has followed the early years of her reign as Queen of Great Britain and Ireland during the early 1800’s.

Viewers have seen her relationship with Prince Albert evolve and the birth of the first six of her nine children.

Tonight will see the final episode of the third series shown on ITV and many fans are wondering if we will see a fourth series and what we could expect.

Is there going to be a Victoria series four?

A fourth series of Victoria will be produced at some point with writer Daisy Goodwin confirming to Digital Spy that she is currently working on it.

She also confirmed  that a key character is set to die in the drama, saying: ‘that is going to be a great challenge and is going to be an amazing, really good story’.

Jenna Coleman told Graham Norton on Radio 2 that they don’t know the current direction for the ITV series.

The actress said: ‘It’s definitely going to take a break, bit of a breather and then we’re working out… there’s a lot of conversations, do you start at the Crimean War, or do you start later?

‘I mean there’s too much story, unless I literally did commit until I am 63.’

She also added that she might not be able to play the Queen forever, especially as time passes in the show and her children get older.

The first two seasons of the the show aired in August 2016 and August 2017, but there was then a gap between the third series which wasn’t shown in the UK until March 2019, with the US getting to see it a couple of months earlier in January.

The final episode of Victoria series three airs tonight at 9pm on ITV.

David Schwimmer defends diversity on Friends at Bafta TV Awards 2019

David Schwimmer has defended the lack of diversity on Friends at the Bafta TV Awards 2019.

The 52-year-old actor, who played Ross in the sitcom for 10 years, presented the gong for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme alongside Nick Mohammed when he was put on the spot about the pay gap.

‘We’re also here to celebrate the huge diversity here within Bafta,’ Nick began.

‘Sure,’ said David.

Nick continued: ‘Not just on display across all the shows nominated tonight but also in terms of those presenting the awards.’

David joked: ‘That’s right, look at us. Only 50 per cent of us is white heterosexual male.’

‘And we all remember how diverse friends was,’ Nick probed.

David replied: ‘Thank you, thank you. It was a groundbreaking show and half the cast were women. I made sure we were all paid equally.’

‘Sorry, wasn’t Courteney making more than the rest of you when you first started?’ Nick swiped.

‘Yes, that was a problem.

Friends only had two characters who were people of colour and frequently used shocking and un-PC stereotypes as punchlines.

The cast has addressed the show’s major diversity problem before, with actress Aisha Tyler, who played Ross’s girlfriend and Cosimo Fusco, who starred as Rachel Green’s (Jennifer Aniston) boyfriend Paolo, both speaking out.

‘People of colour were always aware of it [the lack of diversity],’ Aisha began in conversation with the Guardian for an inside history of Friends.

‘Even at the time, people were constantly pointing out that Friends wasn’t as diverse as the Manhattan of the real world.

‘My character wasn’t written on the page to be a woman of colour, and I auditioned against a lot of other women of different ethnic backgrounds, so I like to think they picked me because I was the right person for the role.

‘But I knew it was something new for the show, and it was really important because, the fact of the matter was, it was a show set in Manhattan that was almost entirely Caucasian.

‘It was an unrealistic representation of what the real world looked like.’

Friends is available to stream on Netflix.

‘Most of the deaths’ are going to happen in tonight’s Game Of Thrones episode

What is going to happen tonight? (Picture: HBO)

***spoilers for season eight, episode six***

If you were wondering when we were going to have our hearts really broken by Game Of Thrones, it seems tonight may be the night.

As the seventh and penultimate episode of season eight lands on our screens in the US overnight and in the UK tomorrow, deaths are coming.

Well, according to show experts anyway.

Watchers On The Wall deputy editor Luka Nieto wants us to prep our hearts to massive loss in tonight’s episode as the north heads towards King’s Landing.

Last week’s episode saw Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) instruct her henchman The Mountain to behead Missendei (Nathalie Emmanuel) right in front of her right hand woman and BFF Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) as well as her lover Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) and blood is set to boil.

Dany isn’t about to let her remaining dragon (oh yeah, she lost another one of those last episode too) sit about and not burn everyone in flaming flames as retribution.

In the wake of a costly victory, Jon and Daenerys look to the south as Tyrion eyes a compromise that could save countless lives.
Still not okay (Picture: HBO)

‘If you were disappointed by a lack of major deaths in The Long Night, you’ll probably regret that after next episode!’ Luka told us ahead of the next instalment.

‘It’s the penultimate episode of Game Of Thrones. And this is Game Of Thrones, so do the math.

‘Most of the deaths will happen there, though I’m sure the finale will have a few surprises too.’

Counting who is left (most of our beloved characters, if that helps) he added: ‘I can’t think of any tertiary and secondary character in King’s Landing that is safe.

‘As for the main characters, I’d rather not speculate too much, but I’d say even many of them are in great danger.’

Oh cool, well that makes us feel super happy ahead of the next episode.

Game Of Thrones continues Sundays on HBO and Sky Atlantic.

Queer Eye’s Fab Five to team up with RuPaul’s Drag Race? Urm, yes please.

Bobby Berk revealed that buddies have been approached to go on the show, and says that all five of them, yes Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Tan France and Karamo Brown are ‘considering’ the offer.

We can’t deal either.

When appearing on the TV Bafta’s red carpet, in London, the much-loved interior designer confessed that he’d skipped filming the finale of RuPaul in order to represent his gang at the award ceremony.

Metro.co.uk asked the star if he’d been approached by Ru’s team, to which he replied a simple ‘yes.’

When pressed further, the 37-year-old grinned and added: ‘We are considering it.’

Bobby tried to hold back, however, he couldn’t help but tease a little more.

The star continued: ‘I’m actually missing filming the finale of RuPaul to be here.

‘I was supposed to do that but I would prefer to come to the BAFTAs,’ we wonder what the queen of all queens had to say about that.

And no Jonathan, we’re not talking about you.

While obviously working on something special with Ru, the boys have been keeping themselves busy since season two of their show dropped on Netflix, as just last month they decided to take over DC.

The group visited the US capital for an event celebrating LGBTQ youth empowerment and met up with two of Congress’s most prominent women – AOC, and speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.

Sharing an iconic selfie on his Instagram, Jonathan filled his followers in on what they were getting up to.

He said: ‘We have the most diverse American congress ever, I’m lifted up in seeing that a United States that values Equality & protection for all is currently fighting for that.’

The 32-year-old added: ‘We’re making it rain pantsuits & equality in 2020.’

Pelosi – who once appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race, FYI, also shared a selfie with the boys and tweeted: ‘@QueerEye: feel free to let us know when you want @RepAOC & me to fill in next. #Fab5.’

Ant McPartlin joined Declan Donnelly and Holly Willoughby on stage as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! won a Bafta TV Award 2019 for Best Reality & Constructed Factual.

The 43-year-old presenter, who was all smiles on Saturday as he filmed an ’emotional’ new series, pushed Holly Willoughby next to Dec before stepping back alongside the crew.

‘Wow, thank you very much,’ Dec said. ‘Thank you Bafta, thank you ITV for your continue support.

‘Thank you everyone. This goes to a very hard and dedicated production team both here and in Australia. Our crew in Australia work incredibly hard.

‘I’d like to say thank you to Holly for helping me out last year, who did a fantastic job standing in for Ant, who has reluctantly has come up here with us tonight.

‘There he is.’

Dec continued: ‘He’s still part of the team obviously so we wanted him up here to celebrate with us as well.’

Medic Bob also joined the team on stage, having flown out from Australia especially for the ceremony.

Ant took a year off from I’m A Celeb for the 18th series in the wake of his drink diving arrest, with Holly taking his place.

The season was one of the most watched so far, with the launch episode alone drawing in a peak audience of 11.9million, one of the biggest viewing figures of the year.

It was confirmed in March that Ant will be returning to host the upcoming series though, with Creative Director Richard Cowles telling Metro.co.uk: ‘We love what Holly did, but we’re very much looking forward to Ant coming back and I think it’s going to be an amazing series.

‘I think the job is for us to create a series and cast where everyone wants to come back and watch more, so I’m not worried.

‘I’m looking forward to seeing Ant and Dec back again.’

Piers Morgan isn’t taking Baftas loss well as GMB misses out despite 50% of nomination

Piers Morgan’s night wasn’t off to the best start after the Good Morning Britain presenter saw where his seat was at tonight’s TV Baftas.

The host was attending the awards alongside ITV comrade Susanna Reid and it didn’t take them long to figure out perhaps they weren’t picking up any gongs tonight.

And when they did lose out, Piers didn’t seem to be taking it well to say the least.

GMB was nominated twice in the news coverage category for their segments On A Knife Edge and its Thomas Markle Exclusive.

Unfortunately despite being nominated for 50% of the category they didn’t take it out as Channel Four’s Cambridge Analytica Uncovered won instead.

Earlier in the evening Piers perhaps prophesied that would be the case as he shared a glimpse of his seat, not exactly in the front row, ahead of the ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Seems after the award was announced Piers wasn’t taking it too well, either.

‘We lost. In fact, we lost twice in the same category. But I’m taking it really well,’ he sarcastically wrote alongside a gif of a destructive Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Hey Piers, chin up – the only way is up, right?

He continued speaking of his failure as his morning television frenemy Dan Walker tried to list his spirits by insisting he wasn’t a failure.

‘Well done on the nominations. Hope you have a good night,’ BBC Breakfast’s Dan wrote. ‘See you in the morning.’

Piers still wasn’t feeling up to it, though, as he doubled down in his reply: ‘Thanks, but we’re failures. If you don’t win, you fail.’

We can only assume in the morning Piers will have a lot to say about this…we can’t wait.

Last week Piers asked to be seated closer to the front after Baftas posted the seating plan on social media.

Seated a row behind Holly Willoughby and two behind Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, Piers wanted something a little more A-list as he wrote: ‘I’d better be nearer the front than that….’

Holly and Declan accepted the award for reality and constructed factual alongside Ant and their I’m A Celebrity colleagues – so their seats weren’t too bad.

Victoria series 3 episode 8 review: A lavish escapist episode tinged with sadness

$

Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes in Victoria at the Great Exhibition
Victoria series three ended with a lavish finale as the Great Exhibition came together (Picture: ITV)

The finale of Victoria series three might have been light on drama, but it was a prime example of British TV at its best.

In The White Elephant, Prince Albert’s (Tom Hughes) plan came together and The Great Exhibition was on, bringing the unusual and wonderful to the people.

It was a stunning set piece and a fine piece of costume drama, giving the people behind the camera on the show a chance to shine.

From Victoria’s (Jenna Coleman) gorgeous outfit for the occasion complete with feather headpiece, to the ‘crystal palace’ used to hold the event and the recreation of the various curiosities on display, it was clear just how much work went into making prime time television. Hats off to all everyone involved.

This is why period dramas such as Victoria, Downton Abbey and Poldark are so successful and loved – for an hour on a Sunday you are carried off (preferably on a horse and cart) to the past to see how the other half lived. Everything is brought to life in vivid detail from the set design to the stars on screen.

It was a finale that definitely played into the escapism aspect, as it was relatively light on drama. Duchess Sophie (Lily Travers), no longer confined to her room on grounds of insanity by her husband, was left to decide whether to run away to America with Joseph (David Burnett), leaving behind her young son.

She has only known the footman five minutes – so while she should definitely chuck the Duke (Nicholas Audsley), we don’t feel Joseph is the sensible option either. With the queen offering her her own home however, perhaps she won’t need either man making trouble for her.

Nicholas Audsley and Lily Travers as the Duke and Duchess of Monmouth in Victoria series three episode 8
The Duchess of Monmouth was faced with a big decision (Picture: ITV)

Elsewhere there were two goodbyes, sort of. Lord Palmerston (Laurence Fox) was ousted by his party after misreading a political situation just as he seemed to reach a begrudging truce with Victoria. Fox has been a stellar addition to the series and if that was the last we’ll see of Pam, the show will be poorer without him.

Secondly Prince Albert, in the finale’s final moments, collapsed to the ground in front of his wife. It’s not a spoiler to say that Prince Albert’s time is up – he died of typhoid fever in 1861 – but we’re crossing everything for a long goodbye in series four. It would be a disservice to Hughes to kill him off without fanfare.

Hopefully Prince Albert’s time isn’t up straightaway (Picture: ITV)

A lot of this series was made up of people – namely Albert and Feodora (Kate Fleetwood) – telling Victoria how wrong she was, how childish she was, how vain she was; looking down on her just as she feared people would do when she was first made queen. Lord Palmerston was probably the one person who didn’t and now we likely won’t have him anymore next time.

Hopefully Her Majesty will get a little respect going forward. She’s going to have a lot to deal with.
