The explosive death of Frank Clayton (Michael Praed), saving Tracy’s life in his final act, has sent waves of shock through Emmerdale.

Now the soap is about to lose more characters, signified by a heartbreaking upcoming week containing confessions, growing jealousy and a funeral.

Here are the familiar faces set to be seen for the last time on the soap over the next few weeks, as well as the figures we’ve already seen leave.

Jessie Dingle (Sandra Marvin)

Jessie Dingle has endured two turbulent years on the set, and there could be more in store should the headteacher return to the Dales.

For now, though, actress Sandra Marvin has announced she is leaving the soap to appear in new production The Thunder Girls.

She will be joined by Coronation Street stalwart Beverley Callard in her latest role, but revealed that producers will “leave the door open” for her character to return to Emmerdale.

Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley)

Viewers have watched Sugden and his husband, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), hook up via an affair and survive manslaughter, a shooting, prison and a car accident.

There is one (possibly) final act of turmoil in store for the pair who have been affectionately nicknamed Robron, as they will be separated when actor Hawley departs after five years in the role.

Producer Laura Shaw confirmed: ‘Our beloved ‘Robron’ are going to be parted. You’ve seen in the past what happens to Aaron when he unravels, so when he’s parted from Robert, it’s going to be explosive.’

Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) is one of the characters who is leaving Emmerdale in 2019

Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye)

The emotional torment of watching husband Frank die in a factory explosion before learning he planned to propose to her looks like being a step too far for Megan.

Having deliberated over whether her dead spouse was responsible for his own death, a pained speech at Frank’s funeral will be one of the businesswoman’s final acts in the soap for now.

Faye has admitted her decision to leave is ‘a risk’, opting to join a stage adaptation of drama Band of Gold, which was written by her mother, Kay Mellor.

Frank Clayton (Michael Praed)

Frank’s heroics as fire engulfed the factory looked to have paid off until he rushed back in to save his engagement ring.

Paramedics were unable to save him after an explosion on his way out hurled him against a van, leading to the funeral airing on our screens this week.

Donny Cairn (Alan Convy)

Lachlan White’s father was last seen visiting his son in prison in January, making his visit as part of an attempt to incriminate the Dingles.

He issued a dramatic apology to Donny after revealing he had recorded his words, then walked out.

Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson)

Donny’s son is serving a life sentence, having committed a sexual assault, murdered his best friend and been involved in kidnaps and car crashes, among other misdemeanours.

Last seen in that tense season with Donny, the notorious criminal is unlikely to be reappearing any time soon.

Dan Spencer (Mark Jordon)

The former soldier was first seen on the soap in 2014, promptly arranging the robbery of a village shop.

He returned in 2017 but has not appeared since the end of January, when his brother, Daz, made an element of peace with him after discovering he had PTSD.

Lisa Dingle is dead in Emmerdale
Lisa’s final scenes devastated viewers (Picture: ITV)

Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox)

In one of this year’s most tragic scenes, Lisa died of a terminal condition just hours after she re-married her soulmate, Zak (Steve Halliwell).

Lisa had gone back home after they said their vows, with a view to preparing a gift for her husband.

Aiesha Richards (Shila Iqbal)

Arriving in July 2018, Aiesha had a brief flirtation with Jai (Chris Bisson) before factors outside of the soap forced her exit.

Iqbal, who played the character, was sacked from her role in April after a series of historic tweets made by the actor re-emerged.

Maya hides in Emmerdale
Maya’s paedophile storyline was one of the most prominent (Picture: ITV)

Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein)

The history teacher at Hotten Academy groomed Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) from the age of 15 before being discovered having sex with him after he turned 16.

She manipulated Jacob into believing their relationship was viable, leaving him distraught when she was sentenced to a year in prison in June.

Fans are excited to see Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar back on TV (Picture: Rex)

Sarah Michelle Gellar will be returning to TV with a new dramedy, Other People’s Houses, alongside the co-creators of her show Ringer.

Fox have ordered a script of Other People’s Houses, and if successful, the show would be Sarah’s first regular primetime TV series since 2013’s The Crazy Ones, which was cancelled after one season.

Sarah, 42, who made her name as the title role in Buffy The Vampire Slayer from 1997 until 2003, will star in the social media based comedy drama set in Los Angeles.

Other People’s Houses is based on the novel by Abbi Waxman, and follows nine people living in the affluent neighbourhood of Larchmont Village in Los Angeles.

According to Variety, viewers will watch the characters ‘navigate their way through emotional ups and downs, as they try to figure out their lives as partners, parents, friends, and neighbours’ through the lens of social media.

Sarah will star as working-mum-slash-influencer Anne Porter, one of the main characters, and is also executive-producing the series alongside Ringer’s Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder.

The Big Bang Theory Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah also made a cameo on The Big Bang Theory series finale (Picture: CBS)

It’s been a while since Sarah made a TV appearance, barring a cameo in The Big Bang Theory’s series finale earlier this year, but she’s also starring in Ellen DeGeneres’s limited series Sometimes I Lie, based on former BBC journalist Alice Feeney’s debut novel.

Other People’s Houses is set to be a cross between Big Little Lies and Catastrophe, and providing the series does indeed get picked up by Fox, will see Sarah’s long-awaited TV return manifest.

As well as her iconic vampire-butt-kicking role, Sarah focused mainly on her film career, racking up roles in films including Cruel Intentions and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

The rest of the cast are yet to be revealed, but frankly just knowing that Buffy herself has signed up for the show is enough of a draw to get us tuning in.

When is Poldark on and what has Aidan Turner said about the finale?

Poldark series five has one major question hanging over its finale on the Bank Holiday weekend: Did Captain Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) die in a brutal attack that left him trapped by his captors in a cave?

Screenwriter Debbie Horsfield’s plot has left viewers on tenterhooks, not least because Poldark’s assailants remain unmasked.

The identity of his attackers is another mystery following a brutal episode in which Ned Despard (Vincent Regan) was hanged for a crime he didn’t commit in a grisly end to his life.

Naturally, Demelza Poldark (Eleanor Tomlinson) engages in a frantic search for her husband, fearing the worst when she discovers he is missing.

Poldark series 5: Aidan Turner on the season finale

Irish actor Turner has spoken of his pride at playing Poldark for five seasons. ‘When we started Poldark we aimed to complete the majority of the books that we could, which would likely take us up to series five,’ he said.

‘During filming for this series there was a sense of completion and relief that we made it this far, that the show has been successful and that people enjoy watching it.

‘Hitting that mark and returning for the fifth series was always the goal and we are proud to have achieved that.’

When is Poldark next on TV?

The episodes over the weekend are the final two episodes of the drama, starting on BBC One on Sunday at 9pm.

The final episode will screen on the same channel on Monday at 9pm, although past episodes will be available on iPlayer.

You can also watch the first three seasons on Netflix.

Aidan Turner as Ross Poldark
Poldark’s fate is all at sea heading into the final episodes (Picture: BBC)

Turner has reflected on his early days in the role, saying: ‘I was watching some clips of scenes from series one and one of them was when Eleanor was singing in the parlour and we all look so young.

‘It is when I reflect on moments like those that all the emotions come in, and it makes me think about how much Ross has grown, and how much I have grown and learned and what these characters have been through.’

The final season even has an admirer in Andrew Graham, son of Poldark author Winston Graham, who gave the series his blessing.

Speaking in his role as a series consultant for the writer’s estate, Graham admitted: ‘No-one can know what my father would have felt about the forthcoming series, let alone what he might have written.

‘Debbie Horsfield has demonstrated such an extraordinary affinity with his work and has shown such remarkable skill in bringing his Poldark characters to the screen that we know we are in safe hands. Without her, the Estate would not have agreed to series five in this form.’

BBC has commissioned a four-part drama for BBC One to be made by Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat.

Three other dramas were also announced from Sarah Solemani and Gwyneth Hughes by director of content Charlotte Moore at the Edinburgh TV Festival.

In addition to the Moffat’s four-piece, there will also be a new comedy and two factual pieces, including one on mental health featuring Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge

Moffat, who acted as showrunner for Sherlock and Doctor Who has a new drama in the pipeline called Inside Man, a crime thriller about an American death row inmate and a woman trapped in a cellar under an English vicarage who meet under strange circumstances.

It will be produced by Hartswood Films and the upcoming show will go into production in late 2020.

Prince Harry will lead the conversation about men’s mental health in an upcoming documentary, A Royal Road to Wembley: Tackling Mental Health.

It’s particularly salient given the media attention levelled at his and Meghan’s relationship and their new son.

The documentary will follow Prince Harry over the course of a year and will talk to footballers and will feature stories of men in sports who have been or are affected by mental health issues. Tony Pastor will serve as executive producer and Prince Harry is partnering with Oprah Winfrey for Apple TV+.

Sarah Solemani will adapt Jo Bloom’s novel Ridley Road into a four-part drama and will focus on the rise of fascism in 1960s London and follow a woman’s struggle against it.

Speaking about the new shows in Edinburgh, Moore said the BBC was committed to telling British stories.

‘With this in mind we’re increasingly looking to commission programs that will work across both the linear channels and BBC iPlayer,’ said Moore.

Drake brought ‘good energy’ to Top Boy and was ‘instrumental’ in bringing show to Netflix

We have Drake to thank for bringing Top Boy back (Picture: Getty)

We couldn’t be any more excited for the return of Top Boy in September, after global rap superstar Drake convinced Netflix to revive the show for a 10 episode series.

And now star Kane Robinson, or grime artist Kano, has spoken about working with Canadian rapper on the project and revealed that he actually took a step back on production.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Kano said: ‘I met Drake at the beginning when we was in discussions.

‘When the Netflix deal came about, me and Ashley [Walters] and him sat down and spoke.’

The 34-year-old continued: ‘Drake is aware of the talk, you know what I mean, the stuff going on – that he is jumping on the hype.

‘He was like: “Look, I’m a fan of the show and I just wanted to see if there was any way I could help in any way and bring this back.

Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson

‘”You guys need to create the show just the same way for the same reason that I ended up loving it.”’

First airing on Channel 4 in 2011, the gritty drama followed London’s drug dealing market, and only ran for two series.

However, when God’s Plan rapper Drake stumbled upon the British drama back in 2016, he got on his hotline and reached out to Kano and Ashley to see if they wanted to make another series.

The outing will follow a new story on Hackney’s Summerhouse estate, with rising British hip hop stars Little Simz and Dave also starring.

‘Drake was influential in acquiring the Netflix deal, as I hear,’ Kano added. ‘[But] it’s not on a day-to-day level, like Drake is on set trying to tell us how to say and whatnot.

‘He’s just supporting us from behind the scenes. Yeah, it’s just a good energy. He came to the read-through.’

Top Boy series three airs on Netflix on Friday 13 September.

Good Morning America host forced to apologise after mocking Prince George’s ballet lessons

Good Morning America host Lara Spencer was forced to apologise after slating Prince George for taking ballet lessons.

During a recent instalment, the 50-year-old presenter could be seen stifling giggles during a discussion about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son and his school classes.

‘The future king of England will be putting down the Playdoh to take on Religious Studies, computer programming poetry and ballet among other things,’ she said.

‘Prince William says George absolutely loves ballet, I have news for you Prince William – we’ll see how long that lasts.’

However, Lara was met with a wave of backlash from viewers and famous faces, with many saying she should be ‘ashamed of herself’ for her comments towards the six-year-old.

She has since apologised, sharing a post on her Instagram story which read: ‘My sincere apologies for an insensitive comment I made in pop news yesterday.

‘From ballet to anything one wants to explore in life, I say GO FOR IT.

‘I fully believe we should all be free to pursue our passions. Go climb your mountain-and love every minute of it.’

Arlene Phillips was among those left fuming by Lara’s words, rushing to Twitter to defend the young Royal.

‘What a shameful, outdated, harmful attitude being broadcast to the masses,’ the Strictly Come Dancing legend said.

‘Dance has countless scientifically proven benefits for physical and mental health.

‘There should be nothing but encouragement for any male who chooses to try dance whether it’s as a fun hobby or for a future as a professional.’

While George Takei said: ‘Lara Spencer on @GMA mocked a 6-year old Prince George of the UK for taking ballet class.

‘It shows that “toxic masculinity” can be spread viciously by insensitive women, too. As a fellow “George” and a lover of dance, I am very troubled and disappointed by her actions.’

And West Side Story star Ricky Ubeda added: ‘Watching @LaraSpencer publically shame a 6 yr old on @GMA for wanting to take ballet today really brought up a lot.

‘Shame. Adding to society’s already toxic view of masculinity with your platform. Keep dancing, lil George.’

Prince William has previously opened up about his eldest son’s love of dance, explaining it was something George may have inherited from the late Princess Diana.

‘George is doing dance as well, he loves it. My mother always used to dance, loved dance,’ he said, during an appearance at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Hero Awards.

‘If it’s something you love, you do what you love and it’s very important, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You keep at it.’

Jamie Laing ‘compares Strictly Come Dancing curse to incest’ and we have some major questions

Jamie Laing has absolutely no time for the Strictly Come Dancing ‘curse’, comparing the whole thing to incest.

Yes, seriously.

The Made In Chelsea star is set to compete in the upcoming BBC series, alongside Alex Scott, Emma Barton and David James.

But he isn’t keen on being the latest famous face affected by the infamous ‘curse’ – which sees celebrities get too close to their dancing partner, causing their existing romantic relationships to crumble.

According to the Daily Star, the 30-year-old fumed: ‘Everyone talks about this “curse”. You spend eight hours a day, six days a week with this one person.

‘And if you have ever seen the movie Blue Lagoon with Brooke Shields she ends up sleeping with her brother.

Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Laing
Jamie compared the curse to incest (Picture: Getty)

‘If you spend a lot of time with your sister you end up sleeping with her. That is the moral of that story. It is a weird moral.’

‘That is what I am going to say to anyone who asks me about it,’ the McVities heir reportedly continued.

‘But if the Strictly curse did happen my answer will be, “Have you ever watched Blue Lagoon?’”

Ermmmm, we’re not entirely sure that comparison really works, Jamie…

Not least because the characters were actually cousins in the 1980 film, not brother and sister…

Anyway…

The E4 star was recently forced to deny claims the infamous curse – which has affected many couples in the past – had destroyed his romance with Made In Chelsea co-star Sophie Habboo, before the show had even started.

It was claimed Habbs worried he would struggle to stay faithful to her while spending such long periods of time with his professional dance partner.

But a rep has since explained they are ‘very much together’ so we can all calm down now.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Jamie’s reps for a comment.

Strictly Come Dancing begins on Saturday 7 September, on BBC One.

It’s a topical drama (Picture: Getty; Orion Books)

The rise of the Far-Right is the topic of a new BBC four-part series Ridley Road, an adaptation of Jo Bloom’s novel of the same name.

A topical choice for BBC given the tumultuous politics of our time, the series will be penned by Sarah Solemani, of Barry and Aphrodite Fry ilk.

Set in London during the colourful Swinging Sixties, the thriller will delve into the east end, where far right fascism is on the up and up.

It will follow Vivien Epstein, a Jewish hairdresser from Manchester who arrives in the capital following the death of her father.

Delving into London’s dark underbelly, she searches for her lost love Jack Fox, and in a dangerous turn of events ends up going undercover with the fascists.

Red Production Company are producing the series.

BBC Ridley Road
The book was published in 2014 (Picture: Orion Books)

Ridley Road was published as a debut novel by author Jo Bloom in 2014, and at the time it got mixed reviews, with The Independent calling it an ‘ambitious but not wholly successful debut.’

In a statement Solemani said the relationship with Britain has with fascism is ‘more alive than we like to think.’

She said: ‘Britain’s relationship with fascism is closer and more alive than we like to think. Luckily, so is our rich heritage of fighting it.

‘Jo Bloom’s gripping book revealed a darker side of sixties London and the staggering contribution the Jewish community made in the battle against racism. I am thrilled to be working with Red and the BBC to bring this little-known slice of British history to the screen.’

‘Sarah’s brilliant scripts tell a unique story of doomed love and undercover espionage against a backdrop of a fascist uprising in 1960s London,’ added BBC’s Controller of Drama Piers Wenger, who commissioned the adaptation with BBC’s Director of Content Charlotte Moore.

‘This story couldn’t feel more timely [sic] and we are hugely indebted Sarah for bringing this story to life in her own style.’

Lizzie McGuire is back! (Picture: Disney)

Hilary Duff is to reprise her Disney role as Lizzie McGuire.

The 31-year-old actress admits that she’s feeling ‘a little intimidated’ about returning to the titular role that made her famous in the upcoming reboot, which will air on Disney+ and see her alter ego as a 30-year-old millennial living in New York City, especially because her own life is so different now.

Speaking after the reboot was announced at the D23 expo, Hilary – who played Lizzie between 2001 to 2004 said: ‘I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little intimidated. I’m like, “Where is she in there?” She is in there; she is me.

‘When I was 13, it was such a big part of me…I just have to tap into that and be very authentic to that. Our lives are very different. She’s not a mother, I am already a mother.’

https://www.instagram.com/p/B1hig7Wjm3K/

And the actress – who has son Luca, seven, with ex-husband Mike Comrie, and daughter Banks, 10 months, with fiance Matthew Koma – revealed plans for the show have been in the works for ‘a couple of years’.

She told People magazine: ‘The conversations have gone on for a couple of years and the timing just didn’t seem right and now Lizzie is turning 30. For me, she was everybody’s best friend and she was there for us…entering your 30s is a really big deal.’

Part of the series will see Lizzie trying to ‘find her way’ in life in her thirties.

Hilary teased: ‘We toyed around with her being a fashion designer because that’s obviously a big part of the show, but I’m like, “I think that’s too obvious.” She has a few really cool quirks and her job is really cool but she hasn’t totally found her way and I think that’s part of her journey.’

Michelle Keegan has opened up about some of the racy scenes in Sky comedy Brassic, with one happening directly after meeting co-star Damien Molony.

The 32-year-old actress plays Erin in the new Sky comedy, alongside Joe Gilgun, Ryan Sampson, and Dominic West.

The opening episode on Thursday kicked off with Erin and Dylan (Damien Molony) sharing a raunchy scene in bed together, with the third episode seeing the pair have sex in a Portaloo.

Turns out, Brassic’s bold tone translated off camera too, with Michelle recalling how she was thrown into the Portaloo sex scene shortly after meeting Damien.

Speaking to The Sun, Michelle said: ‘I literally just met Damo and then we had a sex scene in the Portaloo.

‘It was literally like, “Hi, nice to meet you,” then we’re told, “Right guys, will you go in the Portaloo?” It was a confined space but it sort of worked for this scene.

‘It was meant to be both funny and awkward. But it’s not a big thing at all.

‘As soon as it’s done, we’re like, “So what are you having for dinner tonight?” It goes back to normal that quick and no one is weird about it.’

Michelle, who is married to former reality star Mark Wright, also expressed her irritation at being quizzed about when she’s going to be become a mum, adding: ‘In this day and age you shouldn’t ask questions like that.’

Brassic marks Michelle’s first jump into comedy territory, starring in dramas Our Girl and Tina & Bobby following her departure from Coronation Street in 2014.

In Metro.co.uk’s review, Brassic is praised for ‘having you in stitches from the word go, just as if it were the bigger and more outrageous northern brother of BBC Three’s This Country’.

Brassic airs on Thursdays on Sky One and is available to stream on NOW TV.

Brit Marling has praised fans calling for The OA to be saved from cancellation purgatory, saying the ‘story keeps going’ with their support.

The sci-fi show was cancelled after two seasons earlier this month, with fans launching a petition to save the show shortly afterwards and even protesting outside Netflix HQ.

Brit, who co-created the show with Zal Batmanglij, has since written a heartfelt, and very long, post on Instagram praising fans for their continued efforts.

‘To the fans of The OA,’ Brit begins. ‘We’re humbled, to be honest floored, by the outpouring of support for The OA, We’ve seen beautiful artwork in eulogy from Japan, France, Brazil.

‘We’ve read moving threads and essays. And we’ve watched dozens and dozens of videos of people all over the world performing the movements with what can only be called perfect feeling.’

She added: ‘Your words and images move us deeply. Not because the show must continue, but because for some people its unexpected cancelation begs larger questions about the role of storytelling and its fate inside late capitalism’s push toward consolidation and economies of scale.’

Brit goes onto describe her ‘desire to lie in wait for a hero’ in the modern political climate, and the importance of stories revolved around the ‘hero’s journey’.

‘Steve, BBA, Buck, Jesse, French, Homer, Hap, and OA are no longer authoring the story,’ Brit continues. ‘Neither are Zal and I. You all are.

‘You are standing on street corners in the hot sun in protest. You are meeting new people in strange recesses online and sharing stories about loss and renewal that you never thought you’d tell alone. You are learning choreography and moving in ways you haven’t dared moved before.

‘All of it is uncomfortable. All of it is agitation. All of it is worth something.

‘Many of you have expressed your gratitude for this story and for Zal and I and everyone who worked on The OA. But it is all of us who are grateful to you. You’ve broken the mould of storytelling. You’re building something far more beautiful than we did because it’s in real time in real life with real people.’

The OA was met with positive critical reception, with Metro.co.uk’s review stating ‘there’s a fearless, captivating thrust pushing this series into a realm of its own’.

The OA is available to stream on Netflix.

Ewan McGregor will return to the Star Wars’ franchise, it has been confirmed.

The 48-year-old actor is to reprise his role as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi – who he played in the prequel movies The Phantom Menace, Revenge of the Sith and Attack of the Clones – for a new spin-off series which will air on Disney+.

Ewan made a surprise appearance on stage at the Disney D23 Expo on Friday (23.08.19), where he was introduced by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
She said: ‘Before leaving, we do have one more announcement.

‘After secrets, and fibs, and not being able to talk about it, I am thrilled to bring out a beloved member of the Star Wars family.’

Ewan then stepped out and said: ‘Kathleen, can you ask me in front of all of these people, all of these witnesses, can you please ask me, am I going to play Obi-Wan Kenobi again?’

She said: ‘Ewan, are you going to play Obi-Wan Kenobi again?’

The Scottish star then looked out into the audience and said: ‘Yes.’

Details of the show’s title and release date have yet to be revealed but the project is progressing well.

Kathleen confirmed: ‘The scripts are written, and we begin shooting next year. We can’t wait to start production. And we have our Obi-Wan.’

Ewan has previously admitted he would love to return to the role.

He said: ‘I would totally do it, of course. There’s no plans as such to do it, as far as I know. I’ve been asked this question for years and years. I’d be happy to do it. There must be a good story to tell as they’re doing spin-offs – there’s likely to be a good Obi-Wan between me and Alec Guinness. I’ve answered “yes” so many times it looks like I’m touting for work!’

Disney has announced their new series The World According to Jeff Goldblum and you can already count us in.

The show promises to let us ‘see the world through his eyes,’ and we’re not quite sure if we should be excited or scared.

Either way, we’re on board.

The company announced the show amid a string of others, including a reboot of Lizzie McGuire, and the creatively named High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which will be launching on Disney+.

‘See the world through his eyes. The World According To Jeff Goldblum. Original Series. Streaming November 12 only on #DisneyPlus,’ the announcement tweet read.

‘This show is a little off the beaten track and it may be unexpected and surprising,’ the 66-year-old explained in the trailer, before urging: ‘So taste it, and enjoy!’

He added: ‘Be forewarned, I am going to show a lot. I’m sort of fascinated by a lot of things – sneakers, denim, ice cream, jewelry, tattoos,’ before showing a clip of himself screaming while holding a tattoo gun.

‘I know nothing, that’s the premise,’ Jeff told viewers. ‘I’m a humble student and, in fact, kind of a late bloomer. A late Gold-bloomer.’

With the trailer showing him having a boogie, getting involved in synchronised swimming, riding horses, and advising people on the cultural impact of the movie Notting Hill, it looks set to be a blast.

Disney has gone on a bit of an announcing spree, revealing that Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars spin-off series The Mandalorian.

Meanwhile, the internet went into complete meltdown mode when Hilary Duff announced she’ll be starring in the reboot of Lizzie McGuire.

‘I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little intimidated. I’m like, “Where is she in there?” She is in there; she is me,’ the 31-year-old said.

‘When I was 13, it was such a big part of me…I just have to tap into that and be very authentic to that. Our lives are very different. She’s not a mother, I am already a mother.’

We’re sure she’ll be just fine.

Jeff Brazier didn’t allow his two sons to watch the heartbreaking documentary about their mother Jade Goody, believing they aren’t ready to see some of the footage.

The three-part Channel 4 documentary, Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain, explores her controversial rise to fame on Big Brother, the race row with Shilpa Shetty, and her tragic death from cervical cancer in March 2009.

Jeff, who had two sons, Bobby, 16, and Freddie, 14, with Jade before her death, has since revealed how he didn’t allow them to watch documentary – despite praising it as a ‘lovely’ tribute.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival (via Daily Star) in a panel, Jeff said: ‘From a technical parenting point of view, whilst they are coming to the end of their childhood and they are able to take on board more adult themes, I don’t think they are quite ready to watch a large percentage of what was being shown.

‘I don’t begrudge any of the content that has been used in making the documentary. It is particularly well made and people have no issue with that.’

He added: ‘But in terms of is that something they could watch? It’s not like they would find so much more about mum in a lovely or warm or memorial way, or just looking back and remembering it.

‘There are a lot of really adult themes there that they are probably not going to get their head around. They could find it upsetting and angry.’

Jeff took part in the documentary to give ‘really glowing remarks about their mum, as opposed to being an absence’ in the series.

Bobby and Freddie were aged six and five respectively when Jade Goody passed away, with the reality star separated from Jeff at the time.

He has since married Kate Dwyer, with the pair getting hitched in Portugal in 2018 with his two sons as best men.

Gwendoline Christie has detailed a moment which left her feeling ‘angry’ on her character’s behalf in Game Of Thrones season eight.

The 40-year-old actress played Brienne Of Tarth in HBO’s fantasy series, which came to a controversial end earlier this year.

Looking back on the big moments for Brienne, Christie recalled how the juxtaposition between being knighted by Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Brienne being left behind by him in Jaime’s pursuits for Cersei in the following episode, was especially infuriating.

Speaking to Deadline about the latter scene, Christie said: ‘When I read that scene, I felt incredibly upset about it on the character’s behalf. And then I realised I had moved into that space where I feel deeply, deeply protective of this character.

‘I was also thrilled about it as an actor, because it meant getting to use some real acting muscles. It was a brilliant scene.’

She added: ‘I did feel angry for the character in that moment, but what was brilliant is that she goes straight back to work, and ultimately, she supersedes her ambition.

‘She wanted to be a member of Renly’s Kingsguard, and in the end she becomes Lord Commander of Bran’s Kingsguard. She’s in charge. It’s all about her skill as a knight. Her abilities, her intelligence. I felt, by the end, like she’d stepped into her own power.’

Despite the divisive final season, Game Of Thrones managed to scoop a whopping 32 nominations at this year’s Emmys – including acting nods for Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, and Sophie Turner.

Christie was also nominated for best supporting actress too, after submitting her own Emmy nomination along with Theon Greyjoy’s Alfie Allen.

The streaming service will be launching in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands on Tuesday 12 November.

It will then be available in Australia and new Zeland on wekk later on Tuesday 19 November.

An official release date for the UK hasn’t been confirmed yet, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen.

The UK isn’t part of the initial roll-out, but Disney execs have said that the service will be launched in most major markets within the first two years.

There are likely various reasons why Disney+ won’t be launched her at the same time as other countries, with streaming rights likely playing a major role.

Various other broadcasters and streaming services are already distributing Disney content, and the company likely wants to wait until more of those deals end before launching the service.

Mayim Bialik has shared a throwback picture behind-the-scenes on The Big Bang Theory, primed to make you weep over the show’s end.

The US sitcom bowed out in May earlier this year with an excellent episode after twelve seasons, which saw Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) finally earn their Nobel Prize.

Cast members have shared numerous tributes since, but Mayim is keeping the nostalgia alive with a picture of co-stars Kaley Cuoco aka Penny and Bernadette’s Melissa Rauch.

Posting on Instagram, Mayim wrote: ‘I miss them @melissarauch @kaleycuoco.’

The picture in question appears to be behind-the-scenes on the wedding episode between Amy and Sheldon in season 11, where Mark Hamill officiated the ceremony to the despair of Star Trek’s Wil Wheaton.

The show came to an end after Jim Parsons decided to leave Sheldon behind, with the actor recently explaining how the show’s absence hasn’t hit him yet.

‘It hasn’t really hit me yet, completely, that it’s over,’ Parsons said. ‘Mostly because the way our schedule worked for 12 years, this was an actual break that we had.

Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is full blown meta in first trailer

$

Disney has released the first trailer for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which goes as meta as you’d expect from the absurd title.

The new series is a TV spin-off from the movie franchise, which originally starred Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens as high schoolers Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez.

This new ten-episode series takes place in the real-life East High where the original movie was filmed, meaning there’s an abundance of meta references and mockumentary interviews to camera.

Starring Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, and Matt Cornett, the series sees students compete to bag roles in their school production of High School Musical, all while navigating their own relationships.

Joshua Bassett plays Ricky in the show (Picture: Disney)

It sounds like a recipe for disaster on paper, but the trailer does a great job of selling the concept – throwing in swear words and potshots at the film’s sequels for an ‘edgier’ vibe.

It’s fairly similar to the idea behind the recent Beverly Hills 90210 reboot, where the original actors attempt to get a revival off the ground in a mockumentary-style series.

But will it attempt to recreate Troy and Gabriella’s Breaking Free duet? Zac Efron fanatics, prepare your outrage.
