Amanda Holden is set to take to the stage as a singer on Britain’s Got Talent to showcase her singing abilities – and she’s making sure Simon Cowell lets it happen.

The judge and mum of two, 48, is working on an album and having impressed with her singing skills previously, is keen to land the gig.

Amanda has a confirmed deal with Virgin to release a collection of tracks from West End shows and films, including The Greatest Showman hit Tightrope.

‘I am so excited, it’s a dream come true. It’ll be a properly classy, lovely album,’ she told The Sun.

‘Will I be performing on BGT? Yeah. I’ve made Simon swear to it.

‘He said, “Well, are you going to come on the show and sing?” And I said, “Yeah, of course.”’

Belt a tune out Amanda! (Picture: Rex)

Amanda is usually on the other side of the stage as a judge and admitted she is ‘terrified’ at the prospect of performing.

‘He’s said it three times now so it’s a verbal contract as far as I’m concerned. I will be terrified but enjoy every second,’ she said.

‘Going out there on my own to perform something off my album is terrifying but exciting.

She added: ‘I remember being thrilled for Alesha Dixon when she did it. She just embraced it and went for it. I will do exactly the same.’

‘When you’ve been sat judging other people, who have faced their fears and got on that stage, you need to follow in their footsteps.’

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions will kick off on ITV on August 31 and will air on Saturday nights for six weeks.

Joe Sugg returning to Strictly Come Dancing as official podcast host

Joe Sugg will be back for more action as the Strictly podcast host (Picture: BBC/Rex).

After reaching the Strictly Come Dancing finale last year, Joe Sugg will still be a member of the family by hosting this year’s official show podcast.

The YouTuber, who found love on the show with his pro partner Dianne Buswell, was announced to be hosting this year’s podcast alongside dancer Kim Winston.

Over the course of the show’s run, the pair will talk to eliminated contestants and judges as well as reporting behind-the-scenes of the series.

Kim heads the dance team behind the show and has been a long-standing member of the Strictly crew, joining the series in 2009.

The podcast will be updated twice a week, Sundays and Thursdays, with BBC Sounds.

Speaking about the new role within the Strictly squad, Joe said: ‘The best laughs happen backstage, so I can’t wait to share these special moments with the fans at home.’

‘I have worked behind the scenes on Strictly Come Dancing for the past 10 years and am absolutely delighted to be hosting the podcast alongside Strictly superstar Joe,’ Kim added.

This year’s contestants are now in training to get ready for this year’s competition – with the pairing announcement happening on 7 September.

It’s clear that Joe has caught the dancing bug following his time on the show (as well as the love bug) and still performs with Dianne to this day, heading out on tour with her in March.

To celebrate a year since being paired up, the duo recently tried to recreate their jive – and didn’t do half bad either, seeing as it’s been so long since they had to do it.

Joe has also been announced in a new role in Waitress: The Musical, hitting the West End for the first time at the Adelphi Theatre from September.

Dianne in the meantime is moving in with the star to his plush pad, and is preparing for her new partner to be announced any day now.

Strictly Come Dancing launches 7 September on BBC One.

Who plays Monty de la Cruz in 13 Reasons Why?

Another season of 13 Reasons Why has now been released onto Netflix UK which means another 13 episodes full of tensions, twists and turns to binge watch when it’s no longer sunny enough to bask outside in the heat.

The new season has plenty of shock revelations, with the mystery of who killed Bryce Walker keeping fans guessing and other shock deaths leaving viewers reeling (we’ll say no more on that here).

Season 3 is particularly pivotal for character Monty de la Cruz, who makes a huge personal revelation during the season and also must confront the consequences of his actions from season 2 when he sickeningly assaulted Tyler.

But who is the actor who plays complex character Monty in the controversial third season of 13 Reasons Why? Here’s what you need to know…

Who plays Monty in 13 Reasons Why?

Montgomery de la Cruz is a recurring character in 13 Reasons Why and has appeared in all three seasons of the show.

The resident baddie in a high school seemingly full of villains, Montgomery or ‘Monty’ is played by actor Timothy Granaderos.

Originally from Portage, Michigan, but currently living in LA, Timothy was best known for his appearance in TV series T@gged before being cast in the Selena Gomez-produced Netflix show.

How old is Timothy Granaderos and what is his height?

Timothy is now 32-years-old, but he was 25 when he first appeared on our screens – in a Selena Gomez video, no less.

Timothy appeared in the video for Selena Gomez & the Scene: Love You Like a Love Song, which was a music video of Selena’s third album, When The Sun Goes Down.

Timothy Granaderos in Selena Gomez & the Scene: Love You Like a Love Song video

Despite having worked with Selena before, this doesn’t sound like it gave Timothy an advantage or automatic ‘in’ when it came to getting the role of Monty in 13 Reasons Why.

The actor told Hidden Remote: ‘I had auditioned for this show for a number of times and I didn’t think I was going to get on it. Then a recurring role popped up and my manager Scott Silva said I should take it.’

He made various other appearances in small TV series, shorts and music videos before being cast as Taylor Prince in TV series In The Vault in 2017. He would go on to star in Runaways before taking his well-known roles in T@gged and 13 Reasons Why.

According to Celeb Heights, at college Timothy was listed on his soccer roster as being 5ft 10 in height and as an actor he has, ‘5ft 11 inches on his resume’, so it seems like the star sits somewhere just under 6ft in height.

Timothy Granaderos, who plays Monty in 13 Reasons Why in a photo from his Instagram
We definitely wouldn’t recognise Timothy as Monty in this crowd in those glasses and with that mustache! (Picture: @timothygranaderos/Instagram)

Who is Timothy Granaderos’ girlfriend?

The actor and 13 Reasons Why star is dating a graphic designer named Katie Dixon.

Both Timothy and Katie regularly post pictures on their social media pages of their loved-up dates and days out around their home, California, including trips to the beach and to art galleries.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BlMMd3MgCB8/

In a recent romantic snap on Instagram Timothy wrote about his beau, ‘find her, and watch every sunset with her.’ Aw, cute.

All 13 episodes of 13 Reasons Why Season 3 are available to stream on Netflix now.

I’m a Celebrity ‘lines up Rak-Su’s Myles Stephenson’ after Gabby Allen break-up

Is Myles Stephenson heading into the jungle? (Picture: Rex)

Fresh from a messy break-up with Love Island’s Gabby Allen, X Factor star Myles Stephenson is reportedly in talks for this year’s I’m a Celebrity.

The Rak-Su star, who took home the 2017 win on the ITV talent show, has been rumoured to be in talks for this year’s jungle antics.

His approach came after he was dumped by girlfriend Gabby after being caught messaging girls on Instagram after just under a year of dating.

An insider told The Sun Online: ‘Myles is a free agent now and so he can’t wait to go to Australia and get away – it’s a physical and mental challenge and he’s really looking forward to testing himself.’

When contacted by Metro.co.uk, a rep said: ‘We’ll announce our line up for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here nearer transmission.’

Myle’s potential involvement comes after Paul Hollywood’s ex Summer Monteys-Fullam shut down rumours that she was offered a shot at the jungle crown.

Myles Stephenson and Gabby Allen
Myles and Gabby have reportedly split (Picture: HGL/Getty Images)

Blue singer Duncan James has also shut down rumours that he was set to enter the jungle too – so who’s taking part this year is still extremely up in the air.

Ulrika Johnsson is among the rumoured names in talks for this year’s series following the split from her third husband.

If fans have their way though, Love Island’s Maura Higgins will be trying her luck on the show after smashing it in the ITV2 villa earlier this year.

At least Myles knows that he won’t be running into Gabby while in the jungle – considering she’s already ruled herself of the show.

There’s also some major shake-ups in the hosting line-up too – after Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash stepped down from Extra Camp.

Former jungle stars Joel Dommett and Emily Atack are thought to be taking their place.

On top of it all, rumours that Holly Willoughby will return to the jungle to support Ant and Dec.

I’m a Celebrity returns later this year on ITV1.

Will there be another series of Poldark as season 5 comes to an end?

Poldark’s set to bow out for good (Picture: BBC)

It’s a sad day for fans of Poldark as the long-awaited fifth series of the show comes to an end.

With the show’s 9pm Sunday night slot having been taken over by Peaky Blinders, the series will instead bow out on Bank Holiday Monday, following a dramatic penultimate episode bringing the drama between Geoffrey Charles (Freddie Wise) and Cecily (Lily Dodsworth-Evans) into focus.

Monday’s show will no doubt tie up those loose ends – but will we be welcoming Ross and Demelza back to our screens for a sixth series?

Here’s what you need to know…

Will there be another series of Poldark?

The short answer is – no. That’s your lot, folks – because the final episode of the fifth series will be the last Poldark ever, as confirmed by the BBC back in 2018 after the fourth series.

The show first aired in March 2015 and has gone on to become one of the BBC’s most popular period dramas.

Aidan Turner in Poldark
Aidan Turner has played the titular Ross since 2015 (Picture: BBC)

Based on the novels of the same name, written by Winston Graham between the 1940s and the 1990s, it’s also turned Aidan Turner into a household name in his role as the title character.

Turner has said of the show’s ending: ‘When we started Poldark we aimed to complete the majority of the books that we could, which would likely take us up to series five,’ he said.

‘During filming for this series there was a sense of completion and relief that we made it this far, that the show has been successful and that people enjoy watching it. ‘Hitting that mark and returning for the fifth series was always the goal and we are proud to have achieved that.’

Why is Poldark ending now?

The BBC hasn’t given an official reason for why Poldark is ending – but there has been some speculation that the door is being left open for a possible return in the future.

Speaking ahead of the new series, Karen Thrussell, executive producer for Mammoth, said: ‘This will be the last series in the Poldark chronicle… for now. Who knows what the future may bring.’

Turner has also said that the end of the new series won’t ‘feel final’.

Speaking to Digital Spy he explained: ‘It doesn’t feel like an ending.

‘I don’t think that is the BBC being crafty and keeping it open-ended for another series in time, but [while] it feels right, it doesn’t feel final.’

What time is the final episode of Poldark on BBC One?

The final episode of Poldark airs on BBC One on Monday night at 8.30pm.

Jon and Daenerys’ heartbreaking end was one of the most emotional moments ever in the series (Picture: HBO)

Kit Harington has made no secret that Jon Snow’s final decision in Game Of Thrones to kill Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) was a bitter pill for him to swallow.

But now he’s admitted that he knows that deep down it was the right call for his altruistic character to make – because if he didn’t he could’ve lost everything in the long run.

Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, the star said: ‘Jon essentially sees it as Daenerys or Sansa and Arya, and that makes his mind up for him.’

‘He choose blood over, well, his other blood,’ the actor continued. ‘But he chooses the people he has grown up with, the people his roots are with, the North.

‘That’s where his loyalties lie in the end. That’s when he puts the knife in.’

He also added that the table read which revealed what happened proved to be a ‘holy f***’ moment for him, with the clip since going viral of him tearing up as he stared at screen partner, Emilia.

Jon Snow ended up being shunned to The Wall forever, and appeared happy in the decision, as his sister Arya went West of Westeros, Sansa became Queen of the North, and Bran became ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

So, while it may have been one of the most divisive final seasons ever.

The end of Game Of Thrones took its toll on the star, and soon after the final episode aired, it was revealed that he had checked into a wellness retreat after he turned to alcohol. .

But now he’s back to his best, Kit is landing himself some major roles – starting by joining his Game Of Thrones on-screen brother/co-star Richard Madden in The Eternals.

It was announced this weekend at D23 that Kit would be joining the ranks of the latest star-studded MCU instalment.

He will play Dane Whitman, who in the comics became the Superhero Black Knight.

The superheroes were created by the Celestials in order to protect the human race, with the Celestials also creating the Infinity Stones which made up a solid part of the first three phases of the MCU.

So overall, not too shabby.

Game of Thrones is available now on NOW TV and Sky Atlantic.

We eagerly await confirmation on who each celebrity will be partnered with, it was confirmed by pro dancer Gorka Marquez he won’t be dancing with a star this year.

Gorka had a boogie with Karen Clifton (Picture: 2018 Mike Marsland/WireImage)

That didn’t stop him from energetically getting down with his fellow dancers tonight, though.

In a statement to fans last week, the brand new dad wrote: ‘For everybody that’s been asking, I can let you know that this series, I sadly won’t be partnered with a celebrity for the main series of Strictly.

‘However, I will still be heavily involved in all of the group numbers and all things Strictly!

‘I’m excited to see this year’s celebs and my fellow professionals dance for the Glitter Ball and I hope to be back fighting for it next year.’

Last week the countdown begun on Instagram, with the official Strictly account sharing a video of celebrity contestant Michelle writing out a number 15 with her finger (Disney Channel style!), to mark the 15 days until the show kicks off. Eek!

Eagle-eyed viewers will notice that there are 15 celebs competing on the new series, meaning that we can probably expect our Strictly stars to count down the wait until the show airs for us over the next few weeks.

Referencing Ru’s famous catchphrase, the video read: ‘Start your engines, #Strictly is back in 15 days! Saturday 7th September @bbcone ✨’

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday 7 September on BBC One.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge to host SNL
We are so ready for this (Picture: Getty)

Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Taylor Swift will be joining forces later this year and appearing on Saturday Night Live together – and it’s safe to say, we’re pretty hyped.

It’s the feminist duo we never knew we needed.

Fleabag star Phoebe will be taking on hosting duties for the long-running sketch show, while Taylor will be the musical guest for that week when the show returns in Autumn.

Just think of the magic they’re going to make together, gang.

Even Taylor’s excited, and on the announcement wrote online: ‘Ever since I saw Fleabag, I’ve been all “I can’t wait to see this woman host @nbcsnl” and it’s happening now + I get to be there too = I am in shambles’.

You and us both, Tay.

It’ll be Phoebe’s first time on the show and first time hosting, with the 45th season of SNL planning to come back with a bang thanks to its all-star guest list.

On the show’s return, Woody Harrelson will be taking centre stage alongside the likes of Keenan Thompson, Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon for the annual send-up of current events.

Woody will be paired up with Billie Eilish, which is another pairing that we didn’t realise was close to perfection.

David Harbour - Stranger Things
Jim Hopper himself is making a comeback for another of the episodes (Picture: Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage)

As well as that, Eddie Murphy will also be hosting the show for the first time in 35 years – making his last appearance back in 1984.

Other stars heading onto the show include Kristen Stewart, and Stranger Things’ David Harbour will appear with Camilla Cabello as his musical star.

Kristen and Eddie’s musical guests are yet to be announced – but something tells us it’s going to be incredible.

Phoebe and Taylor will be appearing on the 5 October edition of the show, so jot that down in your calendars now, people!

Saturday Night Live returns 28 September on NBC in the US.

Poldark series 5 episode 8: A swashbuckling send-off that was pure fan service

Poldark
Poldark’s send off was everything fans could want (Picture: BBC)

After five service Poldark bowed out with a fan-pleasing episode that gave closure for the Aidan Turner era, but launched Ross into a brave new world.

A load of new characters entered the game at the last minute as Hanson (Peter Sullivan) made one last ditch effort to bring Poldark down. Why did he hate Ross again? Was it the anti-slavery speech? Or helping Cecily (Lily Dodsworth-Evans) run away? Both motivations had lost their potency by this point.

But it doesn’t matter when there was swashbuckling to be done. With help from Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) he challenged his captor Jules Toussaint (Nico Rogner) to a sword fight, fun fracas nearly two-thirds in where we knew he’d excel.

George’s (Jack Farthing) sudden change of heart was less expected, as he came to the rescue at the 99th hour. His claim that he cared more about his country than his own interests, didn’t quite ring true. After a brief cease fire over a drink, he and Ross went right back to hating each other, thank goodness.

Poldark
A fun sword fight was a good bit of swashbuckling fun (Picture: BBC)

The remainder of the finale was dedicated to placating fans. Ross and Demelza had another heart to heart that will launch 1000 fan-made YouTube videos, Dwight (Luke Norris) and Caroline (Gabriella Wilde) are…having sex again, I guess? And Sam (Tom York) is married to Rosina (Amelia Clarkson). That’s Rosina, the woman he previously binned off for Tess (Sofia Oxenham) at the earliest opportunity. Poor love.

However schmaltzy the closing moments were, it was proof that writer Debbie Horsfield knows and is devoted to her loyal audience. We don’t know when, or if, we will see Poldark in his present, Turner-shaped incarnation again. So leaving the key players in a settled, happy place while reminding us that Ross’ action-packed life rolls on worked perfectly.

Poldark
Writer Debbie Horsfield left all her characters in a good place (Picture: BBC)

The story arc might have spun too far away from the tight storytelling of earlier series, with the lack of source material evident through the Sam/Morwenna, counterfeit money and mine collapse side-quests. Still, the finale was a solid hour capturing the essence of the characters we come to know and love like family.

It almost made up for all the half-baked villains this series. Except you, Tess, you were a joy.

American Horror Story 1984 finally drops trailer and it’s all your fave slasher movies rolled into one

$

American Horror Story 1984 has finally dropped its full length-trailer and it could be the campest slasher movie you have ever seen in your life.

We’re already obsessed.

Taking leaves out of ever slasher flick you’ve ever seen, the show follows Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, Billie Lourd and their friends as they become camp counsellors for the summer.

With a killer soundtrack (and a hell of a lot of spandex) the team soon head into trouble as they accidentally knock a man off the road (just like in I Know What You Did Last Summer).

Chucking in a creepy helper that stalks their way around camp (just like Friday 13th and Sleepaway Camp) and an escaped patient from an asylum (a la Halloween), and you already know that no one’s going to make it out alive.

Apart from Brooke (Emma), the virginal leading lady who had a ‘for real’ experience that we’re yet to find out.

Colour us intrigued.

American Horror Story - AHS 1984 - Billie Lourd and Emma Roberts
The uber-80s series is going to see some serious bloodshed (Picture: FX)

Clearly a love letter to the slasher genre, this instalment of the bloody anthology is definitely one of the most light-hearted so far (which after the literal end of the world in Apocalypse, is a little needed).

While long-standing AHS cast members Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be stepping down from their regular spots in 1984 (though expect a cameo or two), there will be some of our fave faces bringing the story to life.

On top of that, Olympian Gus Kenworthy is launching his acting career with a role in the show as well, with Glee’s Matthew Morrison being very anti-Mr Schue in the bloody and gory series.

Pose actress Angelica Ross has also been announced as an ‘unforgettable’ new character in 1984, shortly after leaving the drag queen series also created by AHS showrunner, Ryan Murphy.

Place your bets now on who gets the bloodiest death… and who bites the bullet first.

(Our money is on the uber macho Cody Fern in short shorts getting something particularly nasty).

American Horror Story: 1984 launches 18 September on FX in the US, and the following day on Fox in the UK.

The death sent Aberama Gold into a tailspin (Picture: BBC)

***Warning: Peaky Blinders episode two spoilers ahead***

The Peaky Blinders lost a member of their gang in episode two of the new series with the brutal and savage slaying of the tame-hearted Bonnie Gold (Jack Rowan).

Aberama (Aidan Gillan) was left destroyed as the Billy Boys, led by Brian Gleeson’s heartless Jimmy McCavern, descended upon their campsite.

The Billy Boys, a real gang around at the time Peaky Blinders, were retaliating in response to the closure of the paedophile ring Aberama, Bonnie and the Peakys helped facilitate back in episode one.

They were out for some serious blood – and payment with the racetracks the Blinders were in control of.

Shooting dad Aberama in the arm, Jimmy forced him to watch as he pistol-whipped Bonnie to the ground before he was strapped to a crucifix, hoisted in the air and shot.

‘I need Mr Shelby to understand that his best is not good enough,’ Jimmy declared as he dealt his killer blow.

The results sent Aberama into a tailspin, and he takes it out on his friends who he believes revealed their location to the Glaswegian mobsters who have their eye on the racetracks of the UK.

But viewers were horrified at the savage and brutal scenes of Bonnie’s death, and shared their sadness at the first major loss of this season so far.

Unfortunately for the Blinders, killing is normal across their line of work – and in the final scenes of the episode, it came to Tommy’s doorstep quite literally.

It’s only a matter of time before another is killed – the question is who.

If anything’s going to test the loyalty of the most devoted member of the Blinders elite, it’s going to be seeing your son shot in the head as he’s crucified.

Broken-hearted and out for revenge, it’s not yet entirely clear what Aberama is planning to do next – but he is going to want his vengeance somehow.

Could he play turncoat on Tommy and go after him, as well as the men who killed his son?

Peaky Blinders continues Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.

Peaky Blinders episode 2 review: Shelby loyalties hang by a thread but we’re completely hooked

Peaky Blinders episode 2
The Peaky Blinders’ loyalties lie in tatters (Picture: BBC)

The Shelby’s have always tried to convince themselves that they were doing the right thing, even if it was taking out a man’s eyes with razorblades. They’re dodgy, but not bad people.

But in Black Cats, all of them, and their ability to be good men, is put to the test tonight and frankly, as much as the first episode displayed the show’s strengths, it’s this episode that releases the show’s full potential.

Strap yourselves in, lads, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Loyalties to the family and to Tommy are put to the ultimate test with the sudden involvement of outside influences tearing the Shelby’s to shreds.

Haunted by dreams of a black cat (the sign of a traitor) Tommy (Cillian Murphy) is keeping his wits about him as he tries to figure out who it is.

First on the list is the newly returned Michael (Finn Cole) and wife Gina (Anya Taylor-Joy) who were even accused by the IRA of trying to turn Tommy over…never a good start.

Michael and Gina didn’t get the happy welcome they were hoping for (Picture: BBC)

Michael gets a less than pleasant welcome back to Brum as a result of this, and coupled up with his involvement in the company losing thousands in the stock market crash, it’s clear he’s got his work to do.

Unfortunately, his arrogance is getting the better of him a little bit, and with the numerous f*** yous thrown around to every member of the family who didn’t welcome him back with open arms seems a little short-sighted on his part.

Honestly, what was he expecting?

Sam Claflin (Oswald Mosley) in Peaky Blinders | Series 5 (BBC One) | Episode 04
Mosley clearly has plans for Tommy but will he rise to the proposition?(Picturer: Robert Viglasky)

Gina, by surprise, is very much a Shelby girl, with the ability to reign in her man but have a plan of action for herself. We have a feeling that Polly (Helen McCrory) isn’t going to like her very much…but we’re already a little obsessed.

The other Shelby girls are definitely happy though, with Linda and Lizzie joining forces and unionising against their men with the demands for more responsibility within the family, or to leave them.

This obviously, goes down like a lead balloon with Arthur and Tommy, especially considering everything else going on.

Over in London, Ava is still hiding her pregnancy and his jumped on board with Tommy to meet the illusive character of Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin), an MP so oily even his accent makes you feel grubby.

Finally being able to see him properly in conversation is a highlight of the episode, with his charm failing on Ava as every word from his mouth visibly makes his skin crawl.

Jack Rowan (Bonnie Gold) in Peaky Blinders | Series 5 (BBC One) | Episode 02 Photographer: Robert Viglasky ?? Caryn Mandabach Productions Ltd. 2019
Poor Bonnie didn’t stand a chance as the Billy Boys invaded (Picture: Robert Viglasky/BBC)

But the most heartbreaking moment of the episode – and the most horrific death for a while – comes in the form of the suddenly descending Billy Boys (led by Brian Gleeson’s heartless Jimmy McCavern)

After Aberamam (Aidan Gillan) and Bonnie (Jack Rowan) following China Town showdown of last episode, the gypsy pair had their location turned over by a traitor, and Bonnie didn’t stand a chance as he was pistol-whipped into submission before being hung on a cross and shot.

Rather than send a ‘message’ to the Shelby’s, the move sends Aberamam into a downward spiral that also results in him questioning everyone and coming after Tommy literally guns blazing.

Lesson learned: No one can be trusted in this life.

A broken man can end up doing anything, and Aidan’s performance at breaking the news about his somewhat gentle son’s savage death will grab at your heartstrings. There’s now revenge on his mind, we’re just not sure where he’s going to direct it just yet.

This episode shows the true strength of Peaky Blinders, as it manages to juggle so much without any of the balls being dropped in their court. We can’t wait to see how this all unfolds over the next few weeks.

Peaky Blinders continues Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.

Birmingham’s elite are under threat but who’s the culprit? (Picture: BBC)

We’re two episodes into season 5 of Peaky Blinders and it’s safe to say that they’re wasting absolutely no time in throwing us in to the action – as if there’s ever a quiet day for the Shelby’s.

But this episode’s violent ends and political minesweeper has a lot of things left up in the air, and it’s going to have to come down to Tommy (Cillian Murphy) to sort it out.

It’s no secret now that he’s beginning to lose his grip on the family business and in reality in general, so there’s a lot of people moving in and setting themselves up to profit from his fall.

Not least of which, the Billy Boys, who have definitely now made themselves known as real threats to the show.

Now we have to wait for a whole week to find out what Mosley, Tommy and the rest of the gang have in store…and we have some serious questions.

Here’s what we’re wanting answers for as we wait patiently for the next instalment…

***Warning: Spoilers Ahead.***

Anya Taylor-Joy in Peaky Blinders season 5
Does Gina have her own plan? (Picture: Ben Blackall/BBC)

Is Gina actually pregnant?

Michael (Finn Cole) shocked the entire Shelby clan with the announcement that not only is he married to Gina (Anya Taylor-Joy) but they’re also expecting a baby together.

The announcement was a pretty sudden one, and caused the pair to get married at sea, which is a bit of a conclusion jump but not unlikely considering the era.

Thing is, Gina was adamant to take passage on the boat with Michael, and even by the mess he found himself in on board the ship with the Glaswegians, it’s obvious he’s still more than a little naive.

Polly (Helen McCrory) is also always on board with the idea of a new child in the family, and protective of the youngsters and when they’ll arrive.

However, she’s been quite quiet this time round…has her second sight picked up on something? Or is she just dealing with the fact she’ll soon be a grandmother?

Peaky Blinders' Sophie Rundle still doesn't know what's happening with Bodyguard 2
Ava’s pregnancy carries some serious risks (Picture: BBC)

When will Ava’s brothers find out the truth about her baby?

In 1929, having a mixed-race baby was a massive no-no, and so Ava’s (Sophie Rundle) decision to have a child, out of wedlock, with a black man is sure to raise some eyebrows.

For the most part, throughout the show’s history, people of colour are accepted into the Peaky Blinders, and they have even defended their black members when racism reared its ugly head (like that pub showdown when they were refused service).

But what is their reaction going to be when they reveal that they’re going to accept a baby into not just the gang, but the actual family?

Arthur (Paul Anderson) had a pretty major reaction when he discovered Ava was pregnant at all, and Polly was careful to hide the father’s identity.

Just how long is that going to last should you think? Ava’s got nine-month’s breathing space at best.

That’s before you even take into account just how the rest of the world is going to react to the arrival.

Cillian Murphy (Tommy Shelby) in Peaky Blinders | Series 5 (BBC One) | Episode 02
Who’s going to betray Tommy? (Picture: Robert Viglasky/BBC)

Who’s the Black Cat?

According to folklore that Tommy and the rest of the Shelby family stand by, if you dream of a Black Cat, it means that a traitor is in your midst.

With Tommy’s mental health in decline, he’s become paranoid, and with the news that someone leaked the Gold’s whereabouts, it’s clear that his premonition isn’t wrong.

The thing is, who could it be? It could well be Michael, whose desire to take over the family business has never been hidden, it could be Linda (Kate Phillips), who is clearly wanting Arthur to take a stronger role in the company, or even Finn, who seems adamant to do things his way and ignoring his brother’s advice.

Or could there even be someone else in the background that we’re missing out on? Whoever it is, they’re playing with fire.

Finn Cole (Michael Gray) in Peaky Blinders | Series 5 (BBC One) | Episode 06
Michael has a lot of making up to do (Picture: BBC)

What’s Michael going to do to repay Tommy?

When you lose Tommy Shelby a hell of a lot of money, he’s not just going to give you a slap on the wrists and let you off the hook now, is he?

Throw in the fact that Michael may well have betrayed him to the Billy Boys and IRA, and he’s definitely not going to let it go.

So Michael is going to have to do something sharpish to prove his loyalty to the family, if he does in fact, still have loyalty to the family.

But what exactly does Tommy have in mind to even the score?

Paul Anderson (Arthur Shelby) in Peaky Blinders | Series 5 (BBC One) | Episode 01
What did that letter say and what does it mean for Arthur? (Picture: BBC)

What was in Linda’s second letter to Arthur?

Arthur and Linda’s relationship is hanging on by a thread, but the in the 1920s a thread is all you need – especially seeing as Linda’s so God-fearing so divorce is hardly an option.

Or could it be? You can see that Linda is struggling with Arthur and his volatile behaviour which, seeing as she’s usually the one to get through to him, is saying something.

His bitter reaction to the first letter coming up with a plan for him to stand stronger within the family company definitely ended in disaster, causing her to reveal a second letter she didn’t want to send him.

As he stands holding it at the end of the episode, it’s pretty clear that whatever it is, isn’t good news.

Has Linda actually left Arthur after all? If yes, where would she go? If no, what has she told him instead?

Sam Claflin (Oswald Mosley) in Peaky Blinders | Series 5 (BBC One) | Episode 04 Photographer: Robert Viglasky ?? Caryn Mandabach Productions Ltd. 2019
Oswald Mosley is a man with a plan (Picture: BBC)

Is Tommy taking up Mosley on his offer?

Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin) is a man with a plan, and Ava is not a fan of him in any way, shape or form.

Despite this, their pair clearly could help with each other when it comes to Birmingham – and Oswald’s charm is clearly piquing Tommy’s interest for some reason.

So are they going to work in alliance, or go head-to-head for the people’s vote?

Something tells us that Oswald is not exactly one to take no for an answer – and is always out to get what he wants.

Will Gold betray Tommy?

Aberama Gold (Aidan Gillan) is clearly in a lot of pain after the brutal death of his son – and he blames Tommy in part for the Billy Boys descending upon his home.

If anything’s going to test the loyalty of the most devoted member of the Blinders elite, its’ going to be seeing your son shot in the head as he’s crucified.

Broken-hearted and out for revenge, it’s not yet entirely clear what Gold is planning to do next.

The Chase star Anne Hegerty has spoken out amid a fan claim that she is ‘rarely’ on the ITV game show anymore.

The 61-year-old responded to a fan who believed they ‘had not seen her in a while’ in the series, with Anne revealing the episodes they had been viewing were merely just ‘repeats’ while confirming that new episodes are on their way.

Taking to Twitter, the fan posted: ‘Why isn’t @anne_hegerty rarely on The Chase anymore? She’s my favourite and I’ve not seen her on there for a while.’

While Anne replied: ‘You are watching repeats. We have a hundred new episodes in the can, and I’ve recorded more of them than any of the others.’

Phew.

The fan later admitted that they were not ‘putting anyone down’, while they gushed about how they ‘fell in love with her’ after seeing her take part in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2018.

And the TV star replied: ‘No, because in the upcoming shoots in October and November, everyone’s getting more than me to make up for it.

‘I get a bit of time off!’

James Haskell for I'm a Celebrity?
Could James Haskell be joining I’m a Celebrity? (Picture: ITV)

Ex-rugby star James Haskell is reportedly the latest star being lined up to take part in this year’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

The star, who is married to fitness guru Chloe Madeley – Richard and Judy’s daughter – is said to be in advanced stages to hit the Gold Coast and try his luck for the jungle crown.

After retiring from rugby earlier this year, it’s alleged that bosses are keen on him to dish dirt on his in-laws, as well as his close ties to famous faces.

Most notably, he and Chloe were two of the attendees at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding ceremony last year.

‘They have made him a decent offer and are hopeful he will sign up,’ a source told The Sun.

‘Being a top-class sportsman means he’ll be full of stories of the dressing room and what goes on behind closed doors.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted James’s reps for comment.

His potential involvement in the jungle comes after Chloe said she didn’t want her husband appearing on Strictly – for fear it would be a ‘recipe for disaster’.

Speaking on the Boys Don’t Cry podcast, personal trainer Chloe said: ‘The one circumstance that I said I cheated was when I did Dancing On Ice, not with my partner.

‘He knows I don’t want him to do it. He knows that. We know a lot of people who have done it who have said [nuh-uh].’

Northampton Saints star James added: ‘If you keep seeing someone, it’s a minefield. I said to Chloe, you have to be f***ing stupid to go onto that show and cheat and think you’re going to get away with it.

‘If we have an argument and you’re in a bad place and you’re going to this dancer and … giving you the comfort… there’s no drama, she’s not worried about who you’re looking at, she doesn’t give a s*** what the kids are doing, she’s not asking you to pay the bills, she’s looking fresh 24 hours a day.

‘You go home and your missus looks like she’s run through a bush backwards.’

At least Chloe’s safe in the knowledge that if he’s in the jungle, he might be the one being dragged through a bush backwards…probably literally.

Simon Cowell has thrown his support behind Amanda Holden and praised her for her ‘no drama attitude’ on the Britain’s Got Talent set.

Amanda, who has been caught in public feud with former co-star Phillip Schofield after he called her ‘stressful’ to work with back in 2014, clearly gets on like a house on fire with her BGT co-stars.

Ahead of the launch of BGT Champions, Simon gave his verdict on the rest of his cast-mates, and made a point to praise Amanda for her down to earth nature.

He said: ‘Amanda has been with us right from the beginning and she’s been the most loyal, easy to work with person, genuinely, that we’ve ever had, I think.

‘No drama, no demands, no this, no that, she just turns up, does her thing, loves the acts and is a great ambassador for the show.’

He also had a lot of love for Alesha Dixon, who has remained on the judges’ panel despite being pregnant, and added: ‘Alesha has been amazing! She could have been putting her feet up but came to work instead. She’s incredible and we’re all really happy for her and her family.

‘I love having the lads on the show, Ant and Dec are like my younger brothers, that’s how I look upon them now,’ he continued.

‘We started doing all this years ago together and we’ve been through so much over the years.’

And as for David Walliams?

‘David is David!,’ he laughed. ‘He just loves being the centre of attention. He’s like all comics, you know, they live for that attention.

‘You’ll never ever change him. As annoying as he is if he wasn’t there, I think you’d miss him.’

The team are back on our screens for the second time this year to celebrate the best acts of the past 13 years of Britain’s Got Talent.

Stars that have become synonymous with the show will be back for another shot at stardom – and a £100,000 paycheque.

The show will air over the next six weeks – starting this Saturday night.

Acts returning to the stage nclude MerseyGirls, Collabro, Stavros Flatley, and reigning champion Colin Thackery.

Connie Talbot, who was last seen on the show aged seven back in 2007, will also be returning to launch her music career as a fully-fledged adult.

Britain’s Got Talent returns Saturday 31 August, 8pm on ITV.

It’s that time of year again, Great British Bake Off is about to return to screens with its cosy, wholesome goodness but we’re mildly perturbed by the youthfulness of some of the contestants this season.

One hopeful in particular, Henry is 20-years old and was just 12 when he started baking.

The reason he took up baking was because a certain baking show was filming near his house – you guessed it, Henry was only 12 when Bake Off was in its third season back in 2012, eight years ago.

‘I started baking at around 12 years old when Bake Off was filming very close to my house, and I would walk past the tent every day, and glimpse the bustle within,’ he said.

‘It was only after this that I started baking – Bake Off really has a lot to answer for!’

Henry is a student at Durham University revealed he even used to see judge Paul Hollywood when he was on his way to school.

‘They used to film the show at the end of my road, and I’d see Paul Hollywood when I walked to school in the mornings, so to be inside the actual tent was totally wonderful.’

Now he’s finally made it into the tent and Henry gushed: ‘Just being inside that beautiful tent has been incredible. Not only do I feel like I have picked up useful little bits of knowledge from Paul and Prue, I never thought I would become so close to the people I was sharing the whole experience with. It’s absolutely wonderful.’

The beloved series is about to go into its 10th year and judge Paul celebrated the milestone by praising both of his co-judges, Mary Berry and Prue Leith.

The full line up was announced by Channel 4 last week.

Other young’uns taking part this season are 20-year-old Jamie, 24-year-old Amelia and 26-year-old Michael.

Great British Bake Off 2019 starts on Tuesday, August 27 at 8pm.

Simon Cowell’s dramatic new look takes centre stage in new glamour shots ahead of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

Simon, 59, has been showing off the results of his new healthier lifestyle in recent public appearances.

The X Factor judge’s new look comes as he takes on a new regime to keep fit following his health scare in 2017.

In a new glamorous photoshoot to promote The Champions, Simon is joined by his fellow judges Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden.

We should be used to Simon rarely deviating from his usual staple wardrobe, as there he is again sporting a white shirt with an open collar, and black trousers.

Actor and author David looks dapper in a smart tuxedo, while popstar Alesha – and her growing baby bump – dazzle in a silver sequinned dress with dramatic long sleeves.

Amanda wears a floor-length gold evening gown with a racy neckline that is bound to get the usual suspects complaining.

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are also suited and booted in the shots. Ant returned to Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year having missed the live show in 2018 to focus on himself after his drink driving charge.

Some of the acts returning to the stage that made their name have been confirmed, and they include former winners comedian Lost Voice Guy and opera singer Paul Potts.

Fan favourites Twist and Pulse and Stavros Flatley will also appear, alongside new acts from the global Got Talent franchise.

The series, which was pre-recorded at Wembley Arena, will air over six weeks, with two acts each week going through to the grand finale for the chance to compete for a cash prize and the coveted Champions Trophy.

Sadly viewers won’t get to see another epic performance from Susan Boyle, as the singer was reportedly forced to drop out at the last minute.

Britain’s Got Talent airs Saturday 31 August on ITV.
