The finale of Peaky Blinders is set to be another explosive episode (Picture: BBC)

Peaky Blinders has proved just as popular as ever this year, after the BBC series achieved its highest viewing figures ever when season five saw over six million fans tune in to the launch of the new series.

With the identity of the car bomber still a mystery, Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) potentially still alive and the fate of Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin) at the hands of recently freed Barney Thompson (Cosmo Jarvis) hanging in the balance, there are multiple questions we need answers for ahead of the Peaky Blinders final episode.

Looking ahead to the finale, Metro’s review of season 5 episode 5 said: ‘With so much to wrap up in one episode, there’s a lot of ground to cover. But if anyone’s going to do it, it’s the Peaky F***ing Blinders.’

So, when does Peaky Blinders season 5 end and how many episodes are left to wrap up the drama from another action-packed series?

When does Peaky Blinders season 5 end and how many episodes are left?

Series 5 of Peaky Blinders is made up of six episodes in total. Five of those episodes have already aired and are now available to watch on BBC iPlayer, with the final episode due to air this weekend.

Peaky Blinders season 5 will conclude this Sunday, September 22 with a tense final episode named ‘Mr Jones’ which will see Tommy (Cillian Murphy) put his plan for Oswald Mosley into action and family tensions escalate after a surprise announcement.

The episode will air at 9pm on BBC One and is just over an hour in length.

For fans already wondering how they will fill the Peaky hole left in their lives once the series finished this weekend, at least there’s comfort in knowing that Peaky Blinders season 6 – and maybe even 7 – are on their way.

Speaking to BBC News back in 2018, show creator Steven Knight said ‘We are definitely doing series six and we will probably do seven…We’ve talked to Cillian Murphy and he’s all for it, and the rest of the principal cast are in for it.’

Nothing more has been confirmed about a new series for the show, but if Steve says the Blinders are coming back, then that’s good enough for now.

The final episode of Peaky Blinders will air on September 22 at 9pm.

The 1975’s Matt Healy forced to defend mum Denise Welch from his own teacher over ‘embarrassing’ advert

Denise Welch has recalled how son Matt Healy defended her after being criticised for doing furniture adverts.

The 61-year-old actress was discussing people who come to her defence on ITV’s Loose Women, when she revealed how son Matt, frontman of The 1975, frequently defended his mum when he was at school against negative press headlines.

Speaking on the show, Denise said: ‘We try to sort out our things as privately as we can in quite a public arena sometimes.

‘It’s funny because I’ve made my mistakes over the years which have been quite well documented, and it was perhaps a little easier for Louis because he’s grown up with less press, the press gave me a hard time over the years, some deserved, some not so deserved.

‘I lived quite naively thinking that nobody was saying anything to Matt at school and of course they were, he just wasn’t telling me.’

She recalled one particular incident where Matt’s teacher at school criticised Denise for doing a furniture advert.

‘I used to be the front figure of a furniture commercial and I had this campaign for a few years and it paid me a few bob and thank you very much,’ Denise said.

‘And this teacher had said to Matt, “It must be really embarrassing for your mum to be doing the furniture commercials. When she’s in an advert it kind of shows you’ve fallen on hard times.”

‘Can you imagine if he’d come home and told me that? I was absolutely spitting feathers.’

Asked if Matt stuck up for her, Denise replied: ‘Oh he completely stuck up for me. And friends told me later on that he’d been absolutely passionate in his fervour of sticking up for me, when we were getting a bit of bad press about the marriage break up and stuff.’

Denise split from husband Tim Healy after 23 years of marriage back in 2012.

The Boys on Amazon Prime is officially more popular than any Marvel series – and rightly so

The Boys has become the biggest smash on Amazon Prime ever and the superhero epic is now officially more popular than any Marvel series.

Netflix have been axing its Marvel favourites one by one, with the likelihood they’ll probably end up on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

However, whatever platform the likes of Jessica Jones, Daredevil and The Punisher find themselves making a new home on they’ve got their biggest foe yet to overcome in The Boys.

Parrot Analytics have released a chart confirming The Boys racked up close to 50 million ‘Demand Expressions’ per day in its fifth week of release, which it describes as ‘the total audience demand being expressed for a title’.

It’s nearest comic book rival was Jessica Jones with just over 20 million expressions a day over the same period, with Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist all trailing behind.

The Boys is produced by Seth Rogen and Eric Kripke, and follows a group of vigilantes lead by Billy Butcher (played by Karl Urban) who are on a bloody mission to take down a pack of celebrity superheroes who go by The Seven. To their adoring public, The Seven are 21st century gods, but behind closed doors, they’re sexual predators and killers with the moral compass of Cersei Lannister.

Amazon ordered season two before fans even clocked eyes onto The Boys, with Karl Urban sharing a handful of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram.

Producer Kripke recently revealed he’s hoping season 2 will go ‘deeper’,while Metro.co.uk have listed all the superheroes from the comics we need to see popping up.

‘A more intense, more insane, more wrenching, more character-driven season,’ he said. ‘It’s my one and only goal to make season 2 even better than season 1.

The Boys is available to stream on Amazon Prime now. And If you haven’t gobbled it up already, you should at the next available opportunity.

Brenda Edwards felt ‘depressed’ after Simon Cowell mocked her appearance on X Factor: ‘I took it as fat-shaming’

Brenda Edwards felt ‘depressed’ after Simon Cowell mocked her appearance during her X Factor audition.

The 45-year-old singer finished fourth on The X Factor back in 2005, and opened up about how comments in her audition from Simon led to her being concerned about her weight.

Speaking on Loose Women while discussing James Corden’s dispute with Bill Maher over fat-shaming, Brenda said: ‘I’ve had an experience. When I did X Factor in 2005 I went on the show, I thought I looked alright to be honest, and I was in front of the judges.

‘I didn’t have audition clothes to wear so I pulled whatever I had out of the case and put it on because I wasn’t actually thinking I was going to get an audition.

‘I got in front of the judges and lovely Simon he said to me, “What have you come as?” For me, as much as he didn’t use the word fat, that’s what I took as an interpretation and I went home and I was really quite down and depressed.’

Brenda explained how the comment prompted her to focus on losing weight for the live shows, adding: ‘I got through the show and I was on the show, and there was one week where he said I was like Shirley Valentine because I’d changed and transformed.

‘But what it was, I took the positive out of what I felt initially was the negative in the fact when I went on the show, because they always say television puts 10 pounds on you, so I was like, “oh my gosh I can’t have that.”

‘I was four stone heavier at the time when I did the show, and I made a conscious decision to get in the gym and do a little bit of a workout.’

Asked if she felt fat-shaming did work in a way, Brenda replied: ‘It did work. I wasn’t happy about someone saying, “What have you come as?” because I was literally just there to sing, I didn’t think anything of it.’

Past auditions on The X Factor have recently come under fire over encouraging contestants to lose weight, including one notable clip which went viral earlier this year.

Top Boy fans want to know what happened to Dris (Picture: Netflix)

Warning: Article contains spoilers for Top Boy season three

Top Boy fans have been left hanging at the end of season three after a dramatic finale.

Dris (Shone Romulus) was in danger after his betrayal of Sully (Kane Robinson) and Dushane (Ashley Walters) was exposed in the new series.

In poor physical health following a stroke, Dris was struggling to provide for his family and maintain his position as Dushane and Sully’s best drug dealer.

As his bosses put the pressure on he was approached by rival gang London Fields who made him offer to work for them for more money.

Dris was swayed by rival gang member Jermaine (Ashley Thomas) as he wanted to be able to take care of his daughter Erin, as her mother was still in prison.

However Jermaine’s offer came with a catch – he had to betray Sully and Dushane and reveal their whereabouts to London Fields as they had their provider Lizzie captive.

They wanted to use Lizzie as bait to lure Jamie (Michael Ward) so they could kill him.

Did Sully kill Dris for his betrayal? (Picture: Channel 4)

Dris was eventually swayed by the offer and gave up the pair, but unfortunately he was sussed out and Sully turned up at his home in episode 10 to dish out the punishment.

As they stood on the roof of a building, Dris pleaded with Sully to change his mind, but his friend had aimed his gun.

Viewers heard the gunshot, but the camera had moved towards the skyline so neither Dris or Sully were in shot.

So we didn’t see Dris get shot nor have we seen a body – which nowadays opens things up to the possibility that Sully didn’t actually shoot Dris.

And fans certainly seem to think that that’s the case.

At one point in Dris and Sully’s rooftop scene, it looked as though Sully might change his mind about killing his friend. Did he back out at the last second?

And if he did decide to spare his friend, it will surely put him at odds with Dushane, so what will happen to their relationship?

Are Virginia and her Pioneers connected to Rick Grimes’ disappearance? (Picture: AMC)

The latest episode of Fear The Walking Dead, called Today and Tomorrow, may have revealed a link between the mysterious Pioneers and the disappearance of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in The Walking Dead.

The prequel delved deeper into the world of the Pioneers and chief Virginia (Colby Minifie) who suggests her group has a far reach that makes Althea (Maggie Grace) suspicious.

Al and Morgan (Lennie James) encounter the Pioneers when they help Tom (Joe Massingill), who is running from them. He comes from Paradise Ridge which the Pioneers have overthrown.

Al fears that they are connected to another shadowy group, CRM, and hopes that she might be able to see her love interest Isabelle (Sydney Lemmon) once more.

When Al was captured by Isabelle and CRM, she revealed that her group has a helicopter in their arsenal, reminding fans of the one that whisked Rick Grimes away in season nine, which takes place seven months on from Fear The Walking Dead.

Virginia initially laughs off the suggestion that the Pioneers have access to a helicopter, revealing that they only have fuel because they stole it after killing Logan (Matt Frewer) and his crew.

But Al is still wary as she knows that CRM is incredibly secretive, so Virginia would not be inclined to tell them the truth if there is any connection between them and the Pioneers.

Morgan reveals his fears to Al when the Pioneers release them, saying that the ideals shared by Virginia and Isabelle about working towards the future are not entirely in line with each other.

Meanwhile on The Walking Dead, season 10 is getting closer which means we are closer to seeing Danai Gurira bow out as Michonne.

Showrunner Angela Kang can’t wait for us to see the warrior woman’s exit, revealing that the character ‘showcases her leadership and strength, and her love for her people and her family’ in her final episodes.

Angela enthused to TV Line: ‘I’m excited to have the audience see Danai’s work during this last arc on the show because she’s just amazing.’

Fear The Walking Dead airs Mondays on AMC UK.

BBC is changing the way we choose our Eurovision participants and this must be punishment for the last 10 years

Eurovision
Maybe this time we’ll actually get to the Top 10 (Picture: Getty)

The UK’s participation in Eurovision 2020 has been confirmed but the British public are no longer allowed to pick the contestant they want to represent them.

Why is that?

Next year’s act will be decided by the BBC in collaboration with record label and publisher BMG and it might be because we have been so bad at picking since Michael Rice came last place this year.

It probably doesn’t help that the UK have failed to reach the Top 10 acts since Eurovision 2009 when Jade Ewen finished in fifth place with It’s My Time.

The winning song will also be released by BMG, which published Sweden’s winning 2015 entry Heroes.

UK’s usual selection process – which was done through televised competitions – may no longer continue, but the BBC has yet to confirm.

Kate Phillips, BBC’s controller of entertainment commissioning, said: ‘Out commitment to finding the right song has never been higher, and this collaboration with BMG, who have access to world class songwriters, is a genuinely exciting prospect.

‘I am certain that together we can find the best song and artist possible for 2020.’

Mel Balac, the creative director of BBC Studios, the corporation’s commercial arm, described the deal with the record label, BMG, as a ‘turning point for the UK at Eurovision’.

‘We very much hope this marks the start of an exciting new chapter,’ Mel said.

BBC Studios approached several labels, but finally decided to go with BMG as it shared a ‘vision of selecting a song with broad international appeal and securing an artist who embodies the spirit and values of the Eurovision song contest’.

On the bright side, BMG has a record of creating successful popstars, including Lewis Capaldi, George Ezra, and Jess Glyne.

Eurovision 2020 will take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands in May.

Netflix’s Unbelievable star on harrowing series that has everyone hooked: ‘There is no right way to be a survivor’

$

This article references sexual assault and rape, which some Metro.co.uk readers may find distressing.

Netflix’s new series, Unbelievable is being praised for its careful handling of the harrowing true story of a woman, Marie Adler (played by Kaitlyn Dever), an 18-year-old from Washington who was raped in her home in 2008 – but nobody believed her.

The eight-episode series follows the mishandling of the case by the authorities as well as two detectives on the other side of the country, Grace Rasmussen (Toni Collette) and Karen Duvall (Merritt Wever) who eventually pieced together the crime while investigating a serial rapist whose MO was similar to Marie’s experience.

Merritt Wever on unbelievable

‘There is no right way to be a survivor,’ Wever told Collider in an interview about the show.

‘Things affect people differently. The truth is, depending on who you run into, there is no way to be a perfect victim. And I use that word in quotation marks. You can be rich, you can be white, you can be this or that, and it doesn’t mean that you’re going to be believed.’

The dark drama is adapted from an article by the US investigative site ProPublica, written by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong and originally titled An Unbelievable Story of Rape.

Toni Collette on unbelievable
Merritt loved working with Toni Collette (Picture: Netflix)

In the Pulitzer Prize-winning article it is revealed how Duvall and Rasmussen mapped out their evidence three years after Adler had come forward.

Speaking of the legal process, and the tendency for victims to feel as though they are being interrogated, Wever said: ‘The process itself is not helpful, is re-traumatizing, and is not even conducive, sometimes, to thorough investigation, and it doesn’t take into consideration the effects of trauma on a person.’

She went on to say: ‘What’s interesting is that, although I do think that there is plenty of room for gender being at play here, and because we live in a patriarchal society with men not being aware of things and being at fault, it could have been female detectives who mishandled Marie’s case, as well. It really could have been.

‘There are also male detectives who would have had handled Amber’s correctly, and with thought and care and determination.

‘I also think a really interesting nuance to the story is that the first person who casts doubt on Marie is her foster mother, who was also sexual assault survivor. Now, the police should not have weighted that doubt the way they did, and it led to a huge and horrific cascade of behaviour and events, but I think that’s a very interesting part of the story.

‘It’s complicated. Sometimes the lines aren’t as easily drawn as gender and sex, but that’s not that they’re to be discounted though, by any means.’

Unbelievable is available now on Netflix.

Love Island’s Ovie Soko and India Reynolds got a telling off from Rylan Clark-Neal for being ‘intimate’ as they competed on Supermarket Sweep.

In scenes due to air tonight the couple, who are still going strong since leaving the Majorcan villa despite split rumours, were warned to keep their hands to themselves as they went head-to-head against Chris Taylor, Harley Brash, Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan.

‘Can I just say now while I’m chatting to you guys, Ovie and India you’re getting very intimate in my supermarket,’ Rylan pointed out.

‘This is like a swimming pool. We can’t have any heavy petting in here thank you.’

Rylan added: ‘Keep your hands to yourself and your fingers on the buzzers, thank you very much.’

As Ovie and India giggled, Rylan quipped to the camera: ‘Clearly they’re still in the honeymoon period.’

Just last week, India was forced to deny cheating on her beau Ovie with former Arsenal footballer Kieran Gibbs after UKGossipTV claimed she was spotted ‘kissing’ the sport star.

A rep for India told Metro.co.uk: ‘There is no truth in this whatsoever and Ovie and India are still very much together and happy.’

The Supermarket Sweep reboot kicked off last week, with Rylan taking over from the late Dale Winton, who hosted the popular game show in its heyday from 1993-2001 and again in 2007.

Since its return, Rylan has insisted that the show is still Dale’s and shared the most perfect response to all the haters.

‘Glad people are enjoying [Supermarket] Sweep,’ he wrote on Twitter on Friday.

‘Even more glad that the people who tweet me saying they “hate” it and I’m “terrible at my job and make them feel sick” are boosting my viewing figures.

Supermarket Sweep airs weekdays at 8pm on ITV2.

Scott Disick spends $20,000 on decorating daughter Penelope’s bedroom

Scott Disick definitely doesn’t seem like one to skimp on cost when re-decorating or building something for his kids.

On the latest episode of his show Flip It Like Disick, Scott Disick got the help of interior designer Willa Ford to give his daughter Penelope’s room a makeover, after she claimed it wasn’t quite as good as her older brother Mason Disick’s room.

But this wasn’t just any makeover. On the latest episode of the show, Scott revealed his budget for revamping Penelope’s room was ’15 to 20 thousand dollars’. It’s safe to say our childhood’s were definitely not quite this extravagant…

Scott, who is Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, said on the show: ‘Obviously, the most special girl in the world to me is my little daughter Penelope. And because she goes back-and-forth to her mom Kourtney’s house, because we co-parent, I want Penelope to be as comfortable at my house as she is at her mom’s. And I want her room at her dad’s to be perfect.’

Although he wanted to give his daughter whatever he wanted, Scott was initially a bit hesitant when the seven-year-old said she wanted an all pink room, as it wouldn’t go with the ‘vibe’ of the rest of the house.

‘My house definitely has a certain vibe and that’s not pink,’ he added later on. ‘I just think, you know, gray is a little more timeless and she’ll grow into it.’

Other suggestions for the room included a mirrored ceiling (‘That’s never gonna happen,’ Scott remarked), a white fluffy carpet and her bed to be a ‘slime pit’.

But they eventually opted for an all-pink room and Scott was glad they did.

‘The look on P’s face when she saw that all-pink room was, honestly, priceless,’ he reflected. ‘And, like those are the things that I really, really do enjoy in life now.’

Scott Disick previously built a playhouse for his three kids – nine-year-old Mason, seven-year-old Penelope and four-year-old Reign – that was pretty pricey, with one architect estimating it could have cost up to £120,000.

So, basically, we feel pretty poor now…

Christie Brinkley has been replaced by her daughter Sailor on Dancing With The Stars after sustaining an injury forced her to drop out.

The American model, who shares Sailor with architect husband Peter Halsey Cook, quit the show after she stumbled over her partner’s foot during rehearsals which lead her to require ‘surgery to her wrist and arm’, according to ABC.

Announcing the news on the broadcaster in a statement, Christie said: ‘Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on Dancing with the Stars this season.’

Joking about breaking her arm, she continued: ‘Sailor joined the cast when I got mine… ouch somebody stop me, it hurts to laugh!’

Sailor is excited to be filling in though and speaking on Good Morning America she revealed she wants to make her mum proud.

‘I felt this high of just attacking something I was so afraid of and it felt like something I need to do,’ she admitted. ‘I think it will change me.

‘I’m doing this mostly for my mom. I just want to make her happy and make her proud.

‘She loved doing this, she loves dancing and she loves performing and getting hurt was her worst nightmare.’

Dancing With The Stars kicks off tonight in the United States, with Queer Eye star Karamo Brown, Lamar Odom and former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer going head-to-head.

The Supremes singer Mary WiIson will also be competing, as will Dawson’s Creek actor James Van Der Beek.

Netflix needs to do better if it doesn’t want to be swallowed by Disney+

Stranger Things season 3
Stranger Things is one of the last lifelines for Netflix (Picture: Netflix)

Netflix has become the defining streaming service in the modern TV landscape, investing millions into projects which contend for Oscars and Emmys, gathering a vast range of old titles to please all ages, all while invading everyday lexicon with a swift ‘Netflix and chill’.

While the platform will always be remembered for kick-starting the streaming age, the coming year could be pivotal for the company. As reported in their second quarter earnings in July 2019, Netflix lost subscribers in the US for the first time in eight years – losing 126,000 subs and falling to 60.1 million paid memberships, down from 60.2 million in the previous quarter.

It’s a marginal amount, but the company’s efforts are slowing down internationally too. While they added 2.8 million subscribers internationally in the same earnings report, their growth decelerated to 3% quarter-over-quarter, down from 10% in Q1 2019.

Netflix pins the blame on price hikes and a lighter content slate, but it’s hard not to feel like the platform is losing steam generally as competitors chip at their heels.

Disney Plus
Disney Plus arrives in November in some territories (Picture: ROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty Images)

The arrival of Disney Plus this November has already started to suck big properties away from them. Marvel movies are expected to be removed, while the cut-throat cancellation of their Marvel TV partnership with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, stripped out plans to build their own TV superhero universe.

Star Wars and Disney animated movies are also expected to be pulled from the platform, and coupled with the impressive roster of Disney Plus shows, including The Mandalorian, Disney remakes, and Marvel shows connecting to their box office-dominating cinematic universe, the broad appeal of Disney will undoubtedly pull away a chunk of Netflix’s audience.

Apple TV Plus is also releasing in the same month. While the platform won’t offer any licensed content outside its exclusive shows unlike Netflix, it’s still another huge brand, alongside HBO Max, vying to steal the spotlight in an increasingly crowded market.

The rise of competitors wouldn’t necessarily be a problem if Netflix had a strong line-up to keep viewers hooked, but there’s few exclusive shows which have landed in a significant way this year. Stranger Things season three is believed to have contributed to a sharp rise in subscribers, while When They See Us has become their biggest chance at awards success with 10 Emmys nominations, but it’s a small number compared to the amount of Netflix originals pumped out on a monthly basis.

The platform’s knack for cancellations has cut short some of their most distinctive shows too. The axing of The OA led to protests outside their offices, and the decision to cancel critically-acclaimed animation Tuca & Bertie, while renewing the stretched 13 Reasons Why, feels like it goes against the platform’s original ethos for investing in bold, innovative ideas.

Undone on Amazon is one of the best, most creative new shows of the year (Picture: Amazon Prime)

If anything, rivals like Amazon Prime feel far easier to recommend in 2019. This year has seen them release star-studded Good Omens, the wonderfully anarchic The Boys, and stunning new animation Undone from the creator of Netflix’s BoJack Horseman. With new seasons from The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and The Expanse to come before the year is out, it feels like the platform has hit a turning point to becoming a worthwhile investment in the streaming space.

While it’s unclear how much Netflix will be shaken by its growing competitors, the coming twelve months are sure to be the biggest challenge the company has faced in maintaining its dominance over the TV conversation. Unless the platform finds stronger reasons to keep viewers locked in or makes smarter choices with its existing ones, the future might be less ‘Netflix and chill’ and more ‘Disney and cuddle’.

Charlie Hunnam has been cast as the lead role in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Shantaram, based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Gregory David Robot.

The series has been greenlit by the tech company for their new streaming service, which is set to be released in November, after they acquired the rights to the novel back in 2018.

Plot-wise, the original story concerns a man named Lin [Charlie], who flees an Australian prison to start a new life in Bombay, India.

The novel became a big success when it was released, selling over six million copies worldwide and being published in 39 languages in 42 territories.

The series, which is scheduled to have 10 episodes, is set to be executive produced by Eric Warren Singer, who will also serve as a writer for the show, while production companies Anonymous Content and Paramount Television will also be involved. Meanwhile, Justin Kurzel will direct the first two episodes.

Asides from a TV series, there had previously been plans to adapt the novel into a feature film.

Johnny Depp had previously acquired the rights to the book with Warner Bros. developing it and Joel Edgerton tipped to star, but nothing has since come to fruition.

Charlie Hunnam is best known for his role as Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller in the FX original Sons Of Anarchy, which ran from seven seasons between 2008-2014.

He also previously starred as Nathan Maloney in the Channel 4 series Queer As Folk between 1999-2000.

Over on the silver screen, Charlie has starred in blockbuster hits such as Pacific Rim (2015) and King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword (2017).

Shantaram will be released to Apple TV+ in the near future.

Taylor Swift returns to The Voice alongside John Legend and Blake Shelton

It appears Taylor Swift is about to return to The Voice as a mega mentor, if the chatters of John Legend and Blake Shelton are anything to go by.

In a clip uploaded to Twitter, coaches John and Blake were sat backstage as they debated who might be the so-called ‘big star’ coming on board to mentor contestants for season 17.

‘I heard we have a mega mentor? I heard it’s supposed to be one of the most successful people in music,’ John said to Blake, as they chilled. As you do.

Blake replied: ‘It’s supposed to be a big star.’

Having a chuckle at his own fame, Blake then added tongue-in-cheek: ‘But it can’t be because I’m a coach.’

As they continued to wonder who it might be, Taylor then waltzed nonchalantly out of the trailer behind them, busied in her phone, as her chart-topping single ME! featuring Brenden Urie began playing.

It’s all very casual and we love it.

Taylor Swift
Taylor is one mega mentor if we ever saw one (Picture: Getty Images)

She simply said ‘hey’ as she passed the guys, who were then left flabbergasted by the mega mentor mention.

As a key advisor, the singer will join Kelly Clarkson, John, Blake and Gwen Stefani to mentor and prepare each team for the Knockout Rounds, which will hit screens in the US next month.

The cheeky video was uploaded to the official Voice Twitter earlier today, so we suppose the news is well and truly out there.

‘We promise that you’ll never find another Mega Mentor like her,’ the caption read, and we totally see what they did there.

‘See you soon @taylorswift13.’

It won’t be the first time the singer will be on the set, after she served as a mega mentor way back in the seventh season.

That and she also took to the stage to perform her hit ME! during last season’s finale.

You could say she’s an old hat at this game, and we can’t wait to see what magic she pulls out of contestants when The Voice kicks into gear alongside the superstar.

Netflix film Tall Girl divided opinions before it was even released, but now fans are getting riled about the main character’s height.

The new movie follows Jodi (Ava Michelle), a self-conscious 16-year-old girl who’s made to feel insecure about her height, and now fans believe that the character shouldn’t worry about standing at 6ft 1.

For reference, Jodi’s character is only three inches taller than model Gigi Hadid and half an inch taller than comedian Miranda Hart.

Meanwhile, Love Island’s Ovie Soko towers over her at 6ft 7in.

Taking their opinions to Twitter, viewers slammed: ‘They could have made the tall girl in the Netflix movie the most unrealistic height and they really chose six foot one…’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘When I realize I’m the same height as the girl in the Tall Girl movie on Netflix. Sis, it ain’t that bad.’

Others rightly pointed out that no one has the right to judge another person’s journey and thanked the streaming giant for making the film.

‘Being a tall girl and watching #TallGirl makes me happy to see this kind of movie out there….thanks #Netflix,’ wrote one.

Fans called out Jodi’s height and that the film made her look so much taller compared to her friends

Others thanked Netflix for shining a light on being tall

Tall Girl is available to stream on Netflix.

Netflix’s Unbelievable ending explained as streaming giant rules out season 2

**Warning, this story contains spoilers for Unbelievable.**

Netflix crime drama Unbelievable dropped on Friday with many fans having binged the emotional series already.

The true story follows Marie Adler (Kaitlyn Dever) as she files a police report claiming she’s been sexually assaulted by an intruder in her home, but the investigating detectives, as well as the people closest to her, come to doubt the truth of her story.

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, detectives Grace Rasmussen (Toni Collette) and Karen Duvall (Merritt Wever) meet while investigating an eerily similar pair of intruder rapes and partner to catch a potential serial rapist.

But what’s up with the ending? We’ve got an explainer to iron out any confusion over what happened.

Unbelievable (Picture: Netflix)
Unbelievable is based on a true story (Picture: Netflix)

In the penultimate episode of Unbelievable, Detective Grace and Detective Karen realised that Marie was in fact a victim of their suspect, Chris McCarthy (Blake Ellis).

The duo tracked down who they thought was McCarthy, but ended up discovering they had his brother instead and so brought him in to take his fingerprints.

They then proceeded to search the sibling’s house whom he shared with McCarthy and unconvered a number of the rapist’s ‘trophies’ that he’d gathered from each of his victim’s houses.

On top of that, Grace and Karen found a camera and a hard drive loaded with photographs of the people he’d attacked.

Through all of the evidence they’d come across, they soon were able to confirm that Marie had been telling the truth all along.

The last episode of the limited series follow’s McCarthy trail with it being revealed that he raped women across Washington State and Colorado for three years.

He left barely any evidence at each scene, leading Marie to believe herself that her ordeal had been made up.

Marie had been ordered to seek therapy to avoid a hefty fine of $5,000 (£4018) and had also been alienated by her old friends who believed she was a liar.

While McCarthy was handed the maximum penalty of more than 327 years in prison, Marie was offered $150,000 (£120,489) in compensation in a private case against the state.

Marie takes the money but also demands an apology letter from original detective Parker (Eric Lange) whose doubts damaged her reputation.

After receiving a message from Parker, Marie leaves Washington to bury her heartwrenching past and to start afresh and the series concludes with her lounging on beach.

Before the credits roll, Marie rings Karen to thank her for trusting her and allowing her to move forward.

Sadly though there won’t be a second series of Unbelievable.

A Netflix rep broke the news to Women’s Health, telling them: ‘It’s a limited series and based on the true story, alas, we won’t have another season.’

Unbelievable is available to watch on Netflix.

Shane Gillis has been axed from Saturday Night Live after racist and homophobic remarks resurfaced last week.

The comedian, who was only announced as a new addition to the cast one day before the scandal, came under fire as slurs in a now-deleted video from 2018 came to light.

A spokesperson for the show said on behalf of executive producer Lorne Michaels: ‘After talking with Shane Gillis, we have decided that he will not be joining SNL.

‘We want SNL to have a variety of voices and points of view within the show, and we hired Shane on the strength of his talent as comedian and his impressive audition for SNL.

‘We were not aware of his prior remarks that have surfaced over the past few days.’

They continued: ‘The language he used is offensive, hurtful and unacceptable. We are sorry that we did not see these clips earlier, and that our vetting process was not up to our standard.’

Shane's statement
Shane shared his statement on Twitter (Picture: Twitter)

Shane also addressed his dismissal and sharing a statement on Twitter, he said: ‘It feels ridiculous for comedians to be making serious public statements but here we are.

‘I’m a comedian who was funny enough to get on SNL. That can’t be taken away.

‘Of course I wanted an opportunity to prove myself at SNL, but I understand it would be too much of a distraction. I respect the decision they made.’

He added: ‘I’m honestly grateful for the opportunity. I was always a Mad TV guy anyway.”

In the episode of Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast recorded on 26 September 2018, according to Variety, features the pair imitating Asian accents and mocking Asian people and Chinese food.

Other footage shows Shane making sexist, Islamophobic and homophobic comments, such as ‘f****t’.

Last week, Shane tweeted an apology for his remarks, saying: ‘I’m a comedian who pushes boundaries. I sometimes miss.

‘If you go through my 10 years of comedy, most of it bad, you’re going to find a lot of bad misses.’

SNL returns Saturday 28th September on NBC in the US.

Paul Rudd faces off against himself in first trailer for Netflix’s Living With Yourself

We’re pretty convinced that there’s no such thing as too much Paul Rudd and now a new Netflix series, Living With Yourself, is going to put that theory to the test.

This eight-part dark comedy stars the 50-year-old actor as Miles Elliott, a normal, slightly miserable man whose relationship is falling apart. So far, so average.

Seeking some kind of change, Miles undergoes a revolutionary spa treatment which promises have you feeling like a whole new, happier person.

And it works; that is until new Miles is ambushed by his original self, realising that he has been cloned and has to keep this secret from his partner Kate.

‘Now there’s two me’s, but there’s one life,’ Paul says to his clone. ‘So, what do you suggest we do?’

This is definitely going to be our next binge-watch obsession.

While Paul is obvs the star of the show – who wouldn’t want to duplicate that ageless face? – we’re also super excited to see Irish comedian and British TV fave Aisling Bea starring alongside the Clueless star.

The creative team also looks pretty incredible, with Emmy winner Timothy Greenberg (who writes for The Daily Show) writing the script and Little Miss Sunshine’s Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris directing.

With its philosophical outlook, could Living With Yourself fill the hole that the end of The Good Place is going to leave in our lives? Stay tuned to find out!

Living With Yourself launches on Netflix on Friday 18 October.

Wendy Williams accuses Christie Brinkley of faking arm break to get daughter Sailor on Dancing with the Stars

Christie Brinkley is ‘totally shocked’ by Wendy Williams’ suggestion that she pretended to break her arm in order to have her daughter appear on Dancing with the Stars.

The former supermodel was set to appear on the upcoming series of the US’ version of Strictly, when she slipped in rehearsals, fracturing her limb and requiring surgery on her wrist and arm.

Sounds like someone’s accidentally taken a lesson from the Jamie Laing school of movement.

Fortunately for Christie, things have stayed in the family as she’s being replaced by her model daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook, 21.

‘Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on Dancing with the Stars this season,’ Christie joked.

However, famously outspoken TV host Wendy was having absolutely none of it, saying that she believed the fall looked ‘fake as hell’ as her talk show returned on Monday morning.

Sailor and Christie Brinkley
Sailor will be replacing her mum on Dancing With The Stars (Picture: Getty)

‘Let me tell you what I see. I don’t see a wrist and a shoulder being fractured. But that was real cute,’ 55-year-old Wendy said, as she theorised that the entire fall was a scam to get Sailor onto the show.

‘Here’s my thought: Dancing with the Stars called Christie Brinkley and she said yes [but] after she got off the phone, that’s when she plotted her schedule.’

Showing that she’s put some serious thought into this, Wendy continued: ‘Sailor is beautiful, she’s a Sports Illustrated model, but that’s not as big as being a Kendall Jenner.

‘In order for girls to get this leg up, it takes more than beauty, you have to have [something more]. And that Dancing with the Stars has got a lot of eyeballs watching.

‘In my opinion, I think what Christie did was she signed up for Dancing with the Stars knowing that she’d put her daughter Sailor in there.’

Naturally refuting these claims, Christie was totally taken aback by the comments, bursting into tears when speaking to People.

‘I’m totally shocked, because I have been there for Wendy Williams. That is so weird,’ she said.

‘I have to give her a call… I’m really stunned.’
