Phillip Schofield had a teeny, tiny part in Friends all those years ago.
The presenter watched the show being taped back in the 90s and was lucky enough to end up in the sitcom.
The season three episode called The One Where Monica and Richard are Just Friends, saw Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) read each other’s books.
He didn’t actually appear on screen or have a speaking part, mind you, as Schofe explained: ‘I have actually been on Friends. I’ve been in an episode of Friends. The one where they keep the scary books in the fridge.
‘When I say I was on Friends, my laugh was on Friends.
I went to watch it and laughed out loud and thought Oh my god I’m gonna be in it, because it made me laugh out loud.
Phillip Schofield popped up in the episode The One Where Monica and Richard Are Just Friends where Joey and Rachel read other’s books (Picture: NBC)
He explained his laugh can be heard when Joey makes the joke: ‘These Little Women, how little are they?’ That’s me.’
Luckily the clip of the exact moment Phillip is talking about is on YouTube, when Rachel discovers that Joey keeps his copy of The Shining in the freezer because he gets scared reading it.
The pair decide to swap books, and Joey asks Rachel if the Little Women are ‘scary little’, and in the audience Phil’s trademark belly laugh can be clearly heard.
Trust us, you can’t miss it.
Recently the show’s creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman left fans devastated by shutting down talk of a reunion once and for all.
Kauffman said at the Friends 25th anniversary panel at the Tribeca TV Festival: ‘We will not be doing a reunion show, we will not be doing a reboot.
‘The show was about that time in life when friends are your family.’
Kauffman added about a reboot: ‘It’s not going to beat what we did.’
o-creator and executive producer David Crane agreed, adding: ‘We did the show we wanted to do. We got it right, and we put a bow on it.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.

The Canadian-born magician – who will be talking about his return to the show on This Morning on Tuesday – won the superfans vote on Saturday night’s show after a stunt which saw him being handcuffed and locked in a box suspended 20 feet in the air, with just 56 seconds to free himself before it exploded.
And one of those theories suggested that he might just have a twin hidden away somewhere – but does he?
Here’s what you need to know…
Does Darcy Oake have a twin?
The suggestion that Darcy might have a twin came from people wondering how on earth he pulled off that stunt on Saturday’s BGT: The Champions, and thinking that perhaps a secret sibling took his place when he appeared behind the judges.
‘He had an identical twin!’ one viewer suggested as debate raged over how he did it.
‘The one that came on at the end had a freckle on his neck. I rewound and the first one didn’t.’
So does Darcy have a twin? Well as far as we’re aware, he doesn’t.
He did however have a brother, Bruce, who sadly died in 2011 following a drug overdose.
Darcy previously said on reaching the final in 2014 that if he won the series’ £100,000 prize money, he would use the money to help his family in the wake of his sibling’s death.
‘None of the finalists are focusing on the prize money,’ he said at the time. ‘But if I did win, it would be important to help my family.’
Darcy, who is from Winnipeg, is the son of Scott Oake, a sports presenter and commentator on Canadian TV who is best known for his hockey coverage as well as covering events including the Olympics.
Is Darcy Oake married?
Darcy’s marital status is unknown but he revealed on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 that he has a long-term girlfriend.
In fact his first ever illusion on Britain’s Got Talent featured his girlfriend, who appeared from a shower of birds in a cage.
However he keeps his personal life very private, and has not revealed her name or any details about her.

How did Darcy do that exactly? (Picture: Rex Shutterstock)
If you want to see more of Darcy’s amazing illusions, you can do so very soon as he’s heading to the UK next month for the show Darcy Oake One Night In London.
Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continues on ITV on Saturday night.

Emma Willis is taking over as host of The Circle as the show returns for its second season (Picture: Channel 4)
Channel 4’s The Circle won itself a loyal following when it aired last autumn, thanks to its combination of Big Brother-style reality TV with a dash of social media.
It was so popular in fact that it’s gone and got itself a second series – except this one’s set to be a little different, with Emma Willis taking over as host, and other changes to the format.
Emma will be talking all things Circle on This Morning on Tuesday ahead of the start of season two – but when is the show back and what can you expect this time?
Here’s what you need to know…
When does The Circle start on Channel 4?
The Circle kicks off on Channel 4 on Tuesday 24 September at 9.15pm.
The first edition of the show runs for an hour and a quarter ahead of Gogglebox at 10.30pm.
From there it’s on every night at 10pm although times may vary so check the schedules for any changes.
You can also catch up with any instalments you’ve missed on 4od.
This year’s series will run for longer than the first, while it will also include weekly live episodes.
How does The Circle work?
The show features a group of contestants who live together in a block of flats but never actually meet one another face-to-face.
Instead they communicate via the titular ‘Circle’ – a purpose-built, voice-activated social media site.
Alex Hobern won the first series after managing to convince everyone he was a woman called Kate (Picture: Rex Shutterstock)
Players can play either as themselves or they can create a different identity, depending on what they think will make them most popular with the other players.
They frequently rate each other, with unpopular people being ‘blocked’ and eliminated from the show – and only then do they get to meet other players in person and reveal whether they were playing as themselves or under a fake identity.
The most popular player at the end of the series wins a cash prize.
He had a few words of warning for this year’s crop of hopefuls though, telling metro.co.uk: ‘No cat-fishing this year! Last year’s contestants were all incredible, they brought something new to reality TV. So the bar is high,’ he said.
‘If you do [decide to be a catfish], that’s fine, but make sure there’s a solid reason for whichever path you want to take.’

Gareth Thomas broke down in tears over his HIV diagnosis (Picture: ITV)
Gareth Thomas has broken down while discussing his HIV diagnosis.
During an emotional appearance on This Morning, the rugby player opened up on his condition, in a candid chat with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
And the 45-year-old became emotional as he fought back against blackmailers who threatened to leak his health news.
‘You get pushed into a corner. People have power over you, and you become vulnerable because you have to keep these people happy,’ he told the hosts. ‘I was basically being asked for a lot of things – a lot of things I physically couldn’t deliver.
‘When people demand something from you all that happens is it goes up and up, until you get to a point where you just think, “Whatever you’ve got to do, do it”.
‘I decided to do it myself.’
Gareth opened up about his condition on This Morning (Picture: ITV)
When asked if he got the police involved against the blackmailers, he continued: ‘I don’t want to go any further, I don’t want to take further steps even though I’d be entitled to, because this thing is not about me.
‘If I’ve gone through the last couple of years of hell for my life… I can live through this. What I want to do is, I want to move forward.’
The Dancing On Ice star also insisted he wasn’t ‘scared’ by his diagnosis.
Raising his voice, he stressed: ‘HIV is not connected to death, it’s connected to life. I’m not scared.’
Gareth spoke about his diagnosis for the first time over the weekend (Picture: Rex)
Gareth spoke out about his diagnosis for the first time over the weekend, explaining he was hoping to ‘break the stigma’ surrounding the condition.
In a video shared on Twitter, he told his 270.8k followers: ‘I want to share my secret with you. Why? Because it is mine to tell you. Not the evils that make my life hell by threatening to tell you before I do. And because I believe in you and I trust you.
‘I’m living with HIV. Now you have that information, that makes me extremely vulnerable but it does not make me weak.’
The rugby star – who tied the knot with partner Stephen back in 2016 – explained: ‘Even though I have been forced to tell you this, I choose to fight, to educate and break the stigma around this subject.’
He also revealed to the Mirror that he thought his life would be over after finding out the diagnosis.
‘I’ll never ever forget the moment I found out. I went for a routine sexual health test at a private clinic in Cardiff,’ he explained.
‘I’d had the tests every now and again and they’d always come back okay. I didn’t feel ill and I thought everything was going to be fine.
‘The woman who did the test took blood as usual, then I went out to my car and waited for about an hour before going back in to get my results.
‘When I went back in, I sat down on a chair next to a doctor’s bench. She told me in a quite matter of fact way I had tested HIV positive.
‘When she said those words I broke down. I was in such a state. I immediately thought I was going to die. ‘I felt like an express train was hitting me at 300mph. I wasn’t expecting it at all. Then I was thinking “how long have I got left?” I was distraught.’
This Morning airs on weekdays, at 10.30am, on ITV.
Tonight’s Star Baker may wish they hadn’t impressed Paul Hollywood so much in tonight’s Great British Bake Off (Picture: Channel 4)
The Great British Bake Off is entering its fourth week of 2019 tonight with each aspiring chef desperate to be crowned Star Baker. But they shouldn’t be.
An unnerving pattern has lingered over the tent in recent years, which has actually meant week four – no matter the theme – is somewhat of a curse building up to the finale.
Right now it’s anyone’s game, with Michael Chakraverty emerging slightly ahead as favourite after earning the first Hollywood handshake of the series.
But he might not want his second one just yet as, traditionally, whoever comes out on top tonight misses out on becoming the 10th Bake Off champion, but they have a 66.6 percent chance of coming in second. But who’s striving for silver?
Kate Lyon, Ian Cumming, Richard Burr, Kimberley Wilson, Brendan Lynch and Holly Bell have all been top of the class in week four over the nine series but all failed to rise to the occasion when it really mattered.
‘Forget the Strictly Curse – according to our research, we’ve now got our very own Great British Bake Off hoodoo as our stats reveal the fate that awaits this week’s Star Baker,’ revealed Bookmakers TV.
‘Our message to the contestants is clear – they should scrape through this week and keep their masterpiece up their sleeve for week five.’

Great British Bake Off continues tonight at 8pm on Channel 4.

Gareth Thomas confirmed he would be working with Prince Harry to raise awareness of HIV (Picture: ITV)
Gareth Thomas confirms he’s working with Prince Harry to raise awareness of HIV, following his diagnosis.
The 45-year-old revealed he had been diagnosed with the condition in a candid video, shared on his Twitter account over the weekend.
And, during an emotional appearance on This Morning, he announced he had plans to work with the Royal in the future, in a bid to break the stigma.
‘For me, I would be a complete hypocrite if this was the end for me. This is only the beginning for me,’ the rugby legend told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
‘I stood up because I was forced to stand up, this is not information I really wanted to put out there, because it’s my information and my family. I was forced to do it. Trust me, this is only the start.
‘And to be working alongside Prince Harry…. Weirdly, I had a text yesterday saying, “Can we have your home number because Prince Harry wants to call you?”
Prince Harry was among the first to share support to Gareth (Picture: Getty)
‘I was looking at my phone, [with the message] saying “Can you give me a time that you’re in?”. I thought, “I’m feeling a bit tired tonight, so you can call me tomorrow, Harry.”
‘I’m going to be speaking to him later, and we’re going to work together.’
While he disclose exactly what they would be doing together, Harry was one of the first to offer his support to the athlete, sharing a sweet message on Instagram.
Alongside a photo of the Dancing On Ice star – shared with 9.4million followers, the dad-of-one wrote: ‘Gareth, you are an absolute legend! In sharing your story of being HIV+, you are saving lives and shattering stigma, by showing you can be strong and resilient while living with HIV.
‘We should all be appalled by the way you were forced to speak your truth, it is yours and yours alone to share on your terms and I and millions stand with you. – H.’
While his brother, Prince William, added Gareth was ‘courageous as ever’.
Gareth spoke about his diagnosis on Twitter, explaining he had been forced to speak out after being blackmailed.
‘I am living with HIV,’ he told fans. ‘Now you have that information that makes me extremely vulnerable, but it does not make me weak.
‘Even though I have been forced to tell you this, I choose to fight, to educate and break the stigma around this subject.
‘And that begins today when I take on the toughest ironman in the world in Tenby, and I push myself physically to the limit.’
This Morning continues on weekdays, at 10.30am, on ITV.

The Channel 4 competition sees players holed up in separate flats, communicating solely through a social media platform, with the most popular contestant taking home the cash prize.
Speaking ahead of the show launch, on 24 September, the 43-year-old admitted she felt betrayed by friends watching the show at the time.
‘Well, I totally missed it because I was doing Big Brother and it was our competition,’ she said.
‘Then lots of my friends that used to work on Big Brother but had left to work on other things said they were watching it. I said, “What do you mean you’re watching that? What about Big Brother?”, and they went, “Oh no, we’re watching that too, but it’s really good and you’d love it.”
‘I didn’t think I would and then I watched it after Big Brother finished and I couldn’t stop watching it!’
Emma insisted The Circle isn’t a replacement for Big Brother (Picture: Rex)
But Emma – who previously helmed Big Brother – insisted it wasn’t a replacement for the Channel 5 series.
Speaking about her move to the show, the mum-of-three continued: ‘It just felt like a natural thing to do, to be honest. I know there’s this kind suggestion it is just a replacement for Big Brother for me but I view it quite differently.
‘The thing with Big Brother is that for me, I always viewed it with the purist mentality, it was a social experiment. That is always how I watched Big Brother. But this, I very much watch it as a game.
‘I hated Big Brother being compared to a game but this is clearly a game with the interaction of people, how they’ll react in certain scenarios and then seeing who is going to be themselves and who is going to play it to try and be the most popular and win that money.’
Alex won the first series of The Circle (Picture: Rex)
The Circle shows contestants either playing as themselves or creating a completely different identity, in a bid to be voted the most popular.
Last year, viewers watched in utter shock as Alex Hobern managed to convince his co-stars he was actually a woman named Katie – modelled on his real girlfriend, Millie – before eventually taking home the crown.
Side note: Alex’s revelation was some of the best TV we’ve ever seen.
And, because Emma hadn’t watched it beforehand, she believed the show was actually celebrating everything that was ‘wrong with social media’, but has completely changed her mind now.
Which is lucky for us.
‘Before I’d watched it, I was like, “This is glorifying what is wrong with social media, where anyone can be anyone. You don’t know who you’re talking to”,’ she said. ‘But I hadn’t watched it and that was just my opinion.
‘Then I watched it and I thought “This is a glowing beacon to teach people, do not trust who you’re talking to online. Because you just don’t know!”
‘So I think it’s a brilliant vehicle for education in the way that a game is showing you that you should be so wary of anything that you’re doing online, who you’re talking to.’
However, Matt Willis’ wife wouldn’t ever go on the show herself, as she is way too ‘paranoid’ to take part.
‘I second guess everything. So talking to someone online, I wouldn’t trust them,’ she added.
‘I wouldn’t trust anyone. I guess I am anti-social on social media! I talk to people I know, but I’m of the older generation, I don’t trust anyone.’
The Circle kicks off on Tuesday, 24 September, at 9.15pm, on Channel 4.

I’m A Celebrity 2019’s cast rumours have already begun (Picture: REX/getty)
With autumn fast approaching, it’s only a couple of months now until we get our annual dose of jungle action in the shape of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.
This year’s series will see Ant McPartlin return to host alongside Dec Donnelly (after Holly Willoughby stood in for him last year) – and of course, the speculation over who’ll be taking part in the show is rife.
‘I’ve heard a lot of things that I’m supposedly meant to be going on and you know what, who knows?’ she said.
‘Right now I’m just taking every day as it comes and there are lots of exciting opportunities there but I can’t really comment on anything because I don’t really know.’
Maura Higgins is definitely keeping the speculation going (Picture: Rex/ITV)
Meanwhile, having been forced to drop out of Strictly due to injury, Jamie Laing might just be eyeing up a place in camp instead – as he’s 5/4 to take part in the series.
‘It looks as though we could be set for the best ever series of I’m a Celeb if the latest rumoured names are anything to go by,’ said Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati.
So just who could we be watching in the jungle this year? Here’s how the betting is shaping up…

As yet there’s no confirmed date for the start of the new series.
However previous series have kicked off in mid-November, so if it follows the same pattern this year you can expect to see it on screens around the same time.
The series normally runs for around three weeks, with the King or Queen of the Jungle crowned in early December.

The eight-episode web series, created by René Echevarria and Travis Beacham for Amazon Prime Video, was already commissioned for a second series before viewers had laid an eye on it.
Amazon announced the show had been renewed for a second season in July 2019.
But can we expect Cara and the rest of the cast return for season two – and when will we get to see it?
When will Carnival Row season 2 be released on Amazon Prime?
If you’re eagerly anticipating season two then you’ll have to wait a little longer, alas – as the second series is not expected to hit our screens until at least the summer of 2020 at the earliest.
Filming for the second season of Carnival Row is due to start later this month, back in Prague – the same location where the first series was shot.
Who is in the cast for Carnival Row season 2? Will Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom return?
Luckily for Cara and Orlando fans, both stars are returning for the second season to play feisty fairy Vignette Stonemoss and Cockney Detective Rycroft Philostrate, respectively.
Could you have a second season of Carnival Row without Orlando and Cara? (Picture: Amazon Prime Video)
Orlando described the prospect of returning to work on Carnival Row as ‘exciting’.
‘It’s really great that we’re going back to do something that we love,’ he said.
The actor also teased that in season two, viewers can expect to see more of the fantasy Victorian world that they were introduced to in the first season.
Orlando teased that we’ll explore more of the fantasy world of Carnival Row in Season 2 (Picture: Amazon Prime / BACKGRID)
‘The world-building is just growing and getting better,’ he revealed.
‘From what I’ve read for Season 2 it’s really exciting and we’ve got an amazing cast of actors.’
Likely to join Orlando and Cara in returning for the new series are David Gyasi as Agreus, Karla Crome as Tourmaline, Indira Varma as Piety Breakspear, Jared Harris as Absalom Breakspear and Tamzin Merchant as Imogen Spurnrose – although nothing has been fully confirmed yet.
Will Katy Perry be in Carnival Row season 2?
A new face, but one very familiar to the cast and fans alike, that could be joining Carnival Row for the second season is none other than Orlando’s fiancée, pop star Katy Perry.
While Katy hasn’t spoken about joining the fantasy series, Carnival Row’s showrunner Marc Guggenheim told People magazine that he’s got his eye on the singer for the new season.
‘I was talking to Orlando the other day. I’m like, “For season 2, we gotta get Katy coming by the set.” It’d be a lot of fun. I actually think Katy would be a great fairy,’ he revealed.
Good Morning Britain’s blunder confused singer Bonnie Tyler with her tribute act.
It’s definitely high praise for the tribute act!
The singer appeared on Tuesday’s show to talk about her music and singing for none other than the Pope.
She is set to sing Total Eclipse Of The Heart to the Pope at a Christmas concert at the Vatican.
The 68-year-old joined hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan on the show, sitting in the studio surrounded by pictures of herself at various points in her career.
Or so she thought.
When the programme came back from an advert break, Bonnie was in fits of laughter talking to Piers and Susanna.
Susanna said: ‘We’ve got a picture of Bonnie Tyler that Bonnie Tyler has just pointed out is not Bonnie Tyler.’
A tribute act was shown instead (Picture: ITV)
At least she saw the funny side (Picture: ITV)
The singer said the picture looked similar to her when she was younger (Picture: ITV)
‘Who is that?’ Piers asked.
Bonnie said: ‘Who is it? It looks like me when I was young. That’s not me.’
Susanna explained: ‘The whole reason that we come over and sit in front of all these screens is because our director wants these beautiful photographs.’
‘This is our director’s favourite part, the wall with all these great pictures,’ Piers went on.
‘Now it turns out he’s putting pictures up there that actually aren’t the guest. That’s awkward.’
Piers and Susanna cracked up at the ‘awkward’ moment (Picture: ITV)
It was later revealed that the mystery woman on Bonnie’s ‘media wall’ was in fact a Bonnie Tyler tribute act.
Mystery solved, Piers announced: ‘We’re gonna change her in real time to Bonnie Tyler, the tribute is no more.’
The singer watched on as the counterfeit Bonnie was replaced with another picture of herself mid-performance.
‘Look at the mouth on that,’ she joked.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.

The hit dating show is moving to two series a year, with the summer one taking place in Spain as usual, and a further winter run filmed in South Africa.
But producers are set to rethink the location over the concerns of the safety of the contestants, say Daily Star.
Violent crimes in South Africa have increased between April 2018 and March 2019, according to police.
A source told Daily Star: ‘Cape Town International Airport welcomed 5.3 million holiday makers last year – up 3% on the previous year.’
ITV declined to comment when contacted by Metro.co.uk.

It comes after it was claimed the show will need to have ‘medics on standby’ in case any of the islanders encounter poisonous wildlife.
‘Health and safety experts will be specially drafted in to help look out for deadly snakes and other poisonous creepy-crawlies,’ a source told The Sun.
‘There will be a specialist medic on hand, too, so contestants can get urgent medical attention. Plus, if necessary, facilities to chopper them to a local hospital.
‘This is a very different kettle of fish to filming in mainland Europe.’
This year’s Love Island was won by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea.

There’s a few more days to go until we see Strictly Come Dancing’s class of 2019 shake what their mamas gave them on the dancefloor in front of the nation.
But until then, we get to feast on the bizarreness that is Dancing With The Stars.
The 28th season of Strictly’s American counterpart started last night, and there’s only one contestant everyone is talking about – Sean Spicer.
The former White House press secretary performed his very first dance with professional partner Lindsay Arnold and it has inspired a lot of feelings in viewers.
Spicer was known for his ‘alternative facts’ (Picture: Olivier Douliery/Bloomberg via Getty Images)
Hysteria. Dystopia. A feeling that we are now in an episode of Black Mirror. Unbridled rage. And that’s before we get to just baffled.
The 47-year-old was in his element as he descended the stairs into the ballroom wearing white trousers and a lime green ruffled shirt – shaking his chest and immediately becoming a meme-worthy GIF online.
Then, Spicer performed a salsa, which started with him playing the bongoes, to Spice Girls’ Spice Up Your Life, because subtlety is dead.
Sean received 12 points out of 30 from judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba – one point ahead of Lamar Odom, who came in last place.
But whether Sean makes it through or not, there’s a lot of discussion about whether Spicer should be on the show at all.
Trump’s former press secretary and communications director became infamous for lying during press conferences – most notably when he claimed that Trump’s inauguration had a the largest audience of any such event, despite photographic evidence proving the contrary.
One viewer tweeted: ‘F*** Sean Spicer and everyone who gives him a platform or trivializes all the harm he’s done as they make him out to be a jokey jokes heehee elbownudge man that we can all guffaw at.’
And writer Matt Wilstein wrote: ‘This is what life is now’ along with a GIF of Spicer’s entrance.
Spicer is competing against Odom, Dawson’s Creel star James Van Der Beek, Queer Eye’s Kara, Brown, former NFL star Ray Lewis, The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown, Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke, The Supremes’ Mary Wilson, comedian Kel Mitchell, The Office star Kate Flannery and country star Lauren Alaina.

Gemma and Gorka opened up about the terrifying experience (Picture: ITV)
Gemma Atkinson has opened up about her terrifying C-section after welcoming her baby Mia Louise with her boyfriend Gorka Marquez.
The 34-year-old revealed that she tried for a water birth and later was induced ‘but nothing was happening.’
Recalling the horrifying experience, Gemma added: ‘With every contraction, Mia’s heart-rate dropped.’
While Mia thankfully arrived safely, Gemma started to feel unwell after giving birth.
‘Because I was numb from the epidural, I couldn’t feel any bleeding,’ she explained on Loose Women before Gorka added: ‘The whole bed was completely red.’
‘A few hours later I had a hemorrhage. It was like someone had switched a light switch.’@MissGAtkinson and @gorkamarquez1 share the shocking story of Gemma’s traumatic birth to daughter Mia. pic.twitter.com/szxmq7QLQl
‘Gorka got a doctor and she took 1 look at me & again pressed the panic button. I was having a hemorrhage,’ she recalled in an Instagram post.
Gemma and Gorka welcomed baby Mia back in July (Picture: Getty Images)
‘A big one & I lost a lot of blood. I don’t remember much other than having around 9 doctors in the room, some injecting me, hooking me to drips, physically pulling clots out of me & one comforting Gorks who was beside himself in the corner.’
‘A lady recently joked with me that I’d had the easy option when it came to having Mia as I didn’t experience “proper labour” she wasn’t being nasty, she said it in jest and she was actually really lovely, but it did get me thinking when I got home. Had I failed? Had I not done it “properly”?’ Gemma, 34, wrote on Instagram.
‘After a good chat with myself I came to the conclusion that the only “proper” way to have a baby is the way that’s safest for you and your baby.
‘There is nothing easy about having a section. There is nothing easy about a vaginal delivery. They are both tiring, scary, emotionally draining and each have their own recovery process both mentally & physically.
‘However you brought your baby into the world was right for you and your baby at that time and that’s what matters.’

A teenager has gone blind after surviving solely on a diet of crisps and chocolate.
Harvey Dyer appeared on This Morning, revealing he has lost all sight in his left eye, and most in his right eye, after only eating Quavers, chocolate and chips since he was just two-years-old.
And mum Kerry James insisted she’s ‘not a bad’ parent, explaining she took him to doctors multiple times who simply advised a more balanced diet.
‘I’ve done everything. I know people say it’s probably because I’m a bad mum and neglected him. I don’t listen to any of that,’ she told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
‘I’ve fought for Harvey from the age of two and I’ll continue fighting until he has that healthy balance of life.
‘At the end of the day he’s our priority and I couldn’t have done anymore.’

She revealed the issues first started when Harvey, now 18, was a toddler, continuing: ‘Before the age of two, he ate everything. Everything I would give him, he would eat. When he was two, he stopped eating all nice stuff and would just have limited things, quavers mainly.
‘He would psychically be sick, he’d gag, he would choke if you tried to get it in him. It was awful, he would sweat, he was crying and screaming. It was just awful.
‘He just could not physically try anything else. Even medication was a nightmare.’
Kerry said she had taken her son to a paediatrician when he was younger, but couldn’t get him to take the medication they offered.

Harvey – who has been diagnosed with ADHD – said: ‘I don’t know if it’s a mental block in my head, I would love to eat [other] food but I cannot get it into my mouth physically.
‘The comment that was made [by doctors] was, “if I was a teenage girl, it would be completely different.”’

The youngster stopped going out as much, as his sight had started deteriorating, but he had no idea he was going blind.
‘Not until I was told my left eye had gone, I thought I just couldn’t see as well,’ he admitted. ‘All I could see at night was the lights off the car, I couldn’t even see the body of the car.
‘I can just about see my hands moving [in my right eye], and I’ve got all different lines and colours in my eye.’
Kerry also suggested vitamin A injections may have saved her son’s sight, if they were offered sooner.
‘Back in December when we were told it was down to nutrition, we think if they’d done the blood test then and realised the Vitamin A was so low they could have given him the Vitamin A injections then, and he could see a lot more out of that right eye and we could have saved it a lot better,’ she added.
‘Now we’ve just got to wait and see.’
This Morning continues on weekdays, at 10.30am, on ITV.

And Oti Mabuse has been working the Emmerdale actor pretty hard in rehearsals, to ensure his late start doesn’t hold them back.
Taking to Instagram, the 29-year-old shared a clip of the pair dancing together with her 258k followers, giving a glimpse at their rehearsals.
‘HERE WE GOOOOOOO…..,’ she captioned the clip. ‘This is so exciting and @kelvin_fletcher has come so far since day one.
‘I’m one buzzing “shimmy teaching” pro and can’t wait for you to see his Samba @bbcstrictly #strictly.’
In the clip, she can be seen telling the 35-year-old their first dance on the show will be the samba – before mocking his unimpressed facial expression.
Working up a sweat, Kelvin confessed: ‘It’s so much faster than I was expecting, and it just feels like it’s 100 miles an hour, so I just keep telling her to just slow things down.
‘She’s so fast.’
But it didn’t look like Oti gave Kelvin any let up, instead revealing he’s struggling to ‘pop his booty’ properly.
‘Day one and I haven’t gone easy on you,’ she confessed at the end of their rehearsal. ‘I literally just went, “There it is! Eat it up!”
‘Samba’s the hardest dance as well,’ he interrupted, to which she insisted: ‘Don’t put that in your head, though!
Jamie Laing was forced to drop out of Strictly due to injury (Picture: PA)
‘You put it in my head as soon as I walked in, it’s your fault,’ he joked.
Honestly, we’re getting sweaty just watching them.
‘I was devastated when Jamie hurt himself and I had a long, tearful conversation with him,’ she told Radio Times.
‘For a while I thought I had no partner and I was in bed all day thinking, “I can’t do the show!” In moments like that you realise how much you love something. I was feeling really bad, but one of the producers said, “We’ll see what we can do.”’
Thankfully, Kelvin jumped in to save the day, with the pair rocking out to the samba this weekend.
Strictly Come Dancing kicks off on Saturday, on BBC One.

Rylan Clark-Neal nearly said no to Strictly: It Takes Two (Picture: BBC)
Rylan Clark-Neal came close to turning down Strictly: It Takes Two at first because he thought he was being asked to compete.
Rylan, 30, didn’t want to be thrust into another TV competition.
But when the BBC explained that they wanted him to present, Rylan jumped at the chance – but had to give his co-host Zoe Ball a quick ring ‘to make sure I wasn’t taking her job’.
The Big Brother’s Bit On The Side host said: ‘It came completely out of the blue! Originally I thought they were asking me to be a contestant – I thought “no, I’m not doing it. I can’t go back into a competition!”.
‘When they said it was presenting I had to ring Zoe to make sure I wasn’t taking her job! She said “no, I’m cutting my time back a bit – I want you to do it!”‘
Rylan, as long time fan of Strictly will fit right in, as he has tuned in ‘every single year’.

In fact the only time he didn’t manage to catch the ballroom action was because he was a bit busy on The X Factor.
‘But apart from that, I’ve always watched it,’ he explained. ‘When my telly mum Ruth [Langsford] was on the show, I came down to support her.
‘Strictly is a machine, it’s a beast! It’s the biggest show on television, I was thrilled I was allowed to come to watch the show – let alone work on it! It’s a massive honour.’
It Takes Two, the sister show to Strictly, will see Zoe and Rylan chat to the celebs and their professional dance partners about how the competition is going.
Rylan added: ‘I took over Zoe’s show on Radio 2 when she moved to breakfast, so it feels really right that this has happened as well. It’s crazy how the world works! Literally it will be the easiest job I’ll ever do. I can just sit there and look at Zoe. She’s a pro!’
The former X Factor finalist will be in the hotseat on Mondays and Tuesdays, with Zoe at the helm on Wendesdays and Thursdays.
They will host the hour-long edition of the programme together on Fridays.
Strictly: It Takes Two returns 23 September at 5.15pm on BBC One for two weeks before moving back to 6.30pm on BBC Two.

Love Island has apparently lined up its first contestant for the winter series.
Show bosses are said to have their eye on model Ellis Iyayi as auditions for the new series continue.
Applications are still ongoing, but producers feel they have ‘struck gold’ with the fitness instructor, who they believe will ‘make great television’.
It is not known if could be in line as an original islander, entering the Love Island villa first, or as a bombshell thrown in at a later date to stir things up and get pulses racing.
A show insider told The Sun: ‘Ellis is over the moon about it – he’s had to be sworn to secrecy about it but he’s been in to meet producers a few times and they love him – he can’t wait to get in the villa.
‘Ellis is exactly what the show is looking for and he ticks all the boxes – he will make great television.’
You can see why they would think that if you head on over to his Instagram page.
Ellis, from Leicestershire, often shares photos of himself topless or looking cool in stylish outfits.
He has already modelled for brands such as ASOS, Nike, JD Sports and GymShark.
The Love Island casting process came under scrutiny this year as it was revealed winner Amber Gill never actually applied for the show.
According to The Mirror, contestants Amy Hart, 26, Michael Griffiths, 27, Joe Garratt, 22, and Ovie Soko, 28, were among those who applied through the general application.
Curtis Pritchard and Tommy Fury both had agents before they appeared on the show, with the latter being the brother of champion boxer Tyson.
In a statement to Metro.co.uk, a Love Island spokesperson said: ‘We are very transparent about how we find people for the show, and whether they are invited to audition or apply themselves, everyone who is seen for the show goes through exactly the same process.’
Amber bagged the £50,000 prize money with Greg O’Shea, however the couple have since split.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Love Island and Ellis’ reps for comment.

Tracey Wigfield will be executively producing the reboot, for NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, which is launching next April.
Saved By The Bell ended in 1992 (Picture: NBCUniversal)
We already have the theme tune stuck in our head.
Saved By the Bell aired from 1989 between 1992, with spin-off The College Years on screens for one season, between 1993-1994.
The upcoming instalment will be set eight years after the series’ finale and will follow a whole new generation of private schooled New Yorkers who are introduced to the social surveillance of the Gossip Girl site.
The log line teases it will ‘address just how much social media – and the landscape of New York itself – has changed in the intervening years.’
Original series creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are on board as executive producers, as well as Joshua Safran who will serve as showrunner once again.
However fans are a little divided over the plans, as the series only ended in 2012…

Brienne, of House Stark, arrived on the hit TV show in season two and went on to become a pivotal character across the remaining series, but now the British actress has spoken of her fear that a role like Brienne ‘might never happen’ but that she has come to terms with what that means.
‘What occurred was a shift; something spoke to me and allowed me an insight into humanity. Thrones, and Brienne, together they gave me a lot of hope, and a lot of experience,’ she said.
‘I’ve been dealing with this idea of loss since I first got the character. Now, it’s about stepping into other worlds and other humans and allowing that to happen.
‘It was so hard for so long. But a little bit of acceptance means a huge amount.’

‘So many women come up to me and talk about what it means to feel represented outside of the constraints of conventional society,’ she added.
Brienne had her work cut out for her in the final battle for Westeros (Picture: HBO)
‘In 2011, I didn’t think I would ever see women that looked like me in mainstream entertainment,’ she continued.
‘It felt like there was one mould that wouldn’t be broken and diversity was not a part of the conversation. So the fact that Brienne existed? Wow.’
Game Of Thrones, which aired its last ever season this year, stands to take home a whopping 32 Emmy awards this year – the most for any programme ever in a single season.
But Gwendoline and her co-stars Carice Van Houten and Alfie Allen all put themselves forward for Emmy nominations after execs for the HBO hit chose not to put forward the actors into this year’s awards race.
Through their own representatives, the three shelled out for the $225 (£180) entry fee and all three were rewarded with nominations’ Gwendoline is nominated for best-supporting actress in a drama series for her role as Brienne of Tarth, while Alfie is up for best supporting actor in a drama series, and Carice is in the running for best guest actress in a drama series.

Gareth Thomas has been hiding his HIV over fears his family would be scared of him, the public would turn on him and he’d be treated like the ‘dying’ outcast media have made out those diagnosed with virus to be.
Thomas appeared on This Morning today where he was anything but a victim. Instead, the 45-year-old was the superhero who could finally eradicate the uneducated stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS.
‘[HIV] is not connected to death; it’s connected to life. And that’s what I’m doing – I’m living life to the maximum,’ he told presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, his voice croaking through both tears and passion.
Thomas recalled the moment he was told he was HIV positive – widely coined as the death sentence caused by sexual promiscuity. Naturally, then, he thought his time was up. The 2012 Celebrity Big Brother housemate revealed he planned how he was going to spend the rest of the ‘short time’ he had left.
‘All I can describe it as is a train hitting me at 300 miles an hour, panicking how I was going to tell my family, how they’re going to know that I’m not going to be around for the next couple of years, how I’m going to continue with my life for short space of time I’ve got left. I had no knowledge of what living with HIV would be apart from as we all know the adverts from the 80s with the tombstone and the death,’ he admitted. ‘That’s exactly where my mind and body went to when I was told.’
Gareth Thomas gave an essential speech on This Morning today (Picture: ITV)
In turn, the star had suicidal thoughts. ‘I thought my life was over anyway.’
But Thomas’ appearance on This Morning couldn’t have been a further cry from the man who made his routine visit to the sexual health clinic all those years ago. The man who sat at his home in Bridgend speaking to Holly and Phil today was defiant, brave and, more importantly, hopeful.
Rising from what has been, through his own admission, ‘years of hell’, Thomas is about to change the world by finally giving it the education it’s been deprived of – both with impassioned appearances like what we saw today and with his new documentary, titled HIV and Me. It’s a mantle which few before him have had the platform to carry.
‘The only knowledge people have right now is knowledge from the 80s and medicine has moved on so far that living with HIV is a condition which doesn’t affect my life or my life span in anyway because I’m on treatment and it’s undetectable,’ he explained. ‘I wanted to put that out there and I wanted people to know because there will be millions of people living in the fear that I was living with.
‘We’re made a documentary to show people I’m taking control of my life but halfway through the documentary, I realised my motivation for making that has changed because I know now it’s not about me. It’s so, so selfish to make it about me. It’s about everyone else living with and affected by it because it’s not just people living with HIV it affects; it affects their parents, it affects their friends and it affects society .’
Charity Terrence Higgins, who campaign to promote awareness surrounding sexual health and HIV, report that half of Brits would feel uncomfortable kissing someone with HIV. In the UK, 70 percent of those living with HIV and on treatment are virally suppressed with levels of the virus so low they cannot possibly pass it on.
Thomas’ determination to end the stigma surrounding HIV isn’t just commendable, it’s essential. And judging by his impassioned speech today, he’ll do it.
Admittedly, the challenge fell upon him in the most unfortunate circumstances. He said today that by telling anyone about his diagnosis, be it a loved one or a former sexual partner, he felt powerless to them. One day anyone could turn on him and for Thomas they did.
That could have been the breaking point but for the sportsman, it was an opportunity.
‘Sometimes you get pushed into a corner and I decided to come out fighting to try and change the views of people not just living with it but people who are affected by it and society in general. We have the knowledge to create a better place.’
‘I want to move forward when we think of HIV we think of the dark times, we think of the past. I’m going to move forward with my life living with HIV and the only I can to stay positive is to forget about the people who keep wanting to drag me back.
‘I’m not afraid, I’m not scared anymore. You can come after me but I will fight.’
The same morning his face was splashed across the front of a national newspaper revealing his diagnosis for the first time, Thomas was competing in the notoriously strenuous Iron Man Challenge in Tenby, again, as proof people living with HIV are physically just as capable as anyone else. Obviously, in Thomas’ case – much more than most.
Gareth completed an Iron Man Challenge the same day as revealing his HIV diagnosis (Picture: Getty)
‘In less than 72 hours Gareth Thomas has helped to smash so many misconceptions about what it means to be living with HIV in 2019. During his interview on This Morning, he showed that world that HIV is not stopping him in his tracks and after completing the gruelling Iron Man Wales challenge he continues to be an incredible athlete,’ Ian Green, Chief Executive at Terrence Higgins Trust told Metro.co.uk.
‘We know that attitudes towards HIV continue to be rooted in the past and that’s why it’s so important to challenge stigma if we are to end HIV transmissions once and for all. Progress in the treatment for HIV is one of the greatest triumphs of modern medicine. HIV has gone from a virtual death sentence to us now saying unequivocally that people living with HIV who are on effective treatment – just like Gareth Thomas – cannot pass the virus on to their sexual partners.
‘I am incredibly proud to call Gareth a friend and know that he will go on to do a huge amount to challenge stigma and discrimination.’
During his interview today, Thomas said: ‘I felt for one small moment some guy from Bridgend who didn’t have a GCSE to his name actually changed the world.’
Frankly, it’s undeniable he did just that as the hero that those with HIV have been waiting for.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV while Gareth Thomas’ documentary HIV and Me airs tomorrow night at 9pm on BBC One Wales and will follow at 10.25pm on BBC One.
