Jennifer Aniston was told to lose 30lbs before she landed the role of a lifetime as Rachel Green in Friends in 1994.

The actress was struggling to make it in Hollywood, and a new book set to dive into the secret of the show on its 25th anniversary reveals that Jennifer was told by her agent she wasn’t getting jobs because she was ‘too heavy’.

‘She had to lose thirty pounds if she wanted to stay in Hollywood,’ Saul Austerlitz writes in his book, Generation Friends: An Inside Look at the Show That Defined a Television Era.

‘Los Angeles was a tough place to be an actress — it was a tough place to be a woman — and Jennifer Aniston’s agent was reluctantly levelling with her.’

He added: ‘Aniston was hardly fat — everyone could see she was beautiful — but as the show she would one day become indelibly associated with later made a point of noting, the camera added ten pounds.’

In 1996 however, in a Rolling Stone article, Jennifer admitted that her diet was terrible and that she lived off milkshakes, French fries with gravy and mayonnaise sandwiches.

‘My agent gave it to me straight,’ she told the magazine.

‘Nicest thing he ever did…. The disgusting thing of Hollywood — I wasn’t getting lots of jobs ’cause I was too heavy,’ she added.

‘I was like, “What?!” But my diet was terrible. Milk shakes and French fries with gravy.

‘It was a good thing to start paying attention.’

The book also reveals that Jen almost missed out on the opportunity to play the ditzy waitress-turned-fashionista due to a conflict with another project.

Jen was already connected to a comedy called Muddling Through for another network at the time and Austerlitz claimed that the show almost had to recast Rachel because producers were anxious about losing her during the first season if Muddling Through was picked up after the pilot.

Deep Water comes to an end on ITV tonight – but will there be more? (Picture: ITV)

ITV’s female-led drama Deep Water has been keeping audiences gripped over the past few weeks.

The series, based on the series of Windermere books by Paula Daly, centres on a group of women in the Lake District trying to keep their families together after a local teenager goes missing.

The final episode of the drama, which sees Anna Friel heading the cast as disorganised single mum Lisa, airs tonight, following last week’s dramatic instalment.

But will we be seeing Friel and the others back for a second series?

Here’s what you need to know…

Will there be a season 2 of Deep Water?

It’s not yet been confirmed whether Deep Water might be returning for a second series.

Daly’s Windermere series includes the books Just What Kind Of Mother Are You? and The Mistake I Made, with stories from both being included in the series.

However there is still scope for more, and it’s been suggested however that a second run could further open up the backstory of policewoman Joanne Aspinall (Faye Marsay).

But with no official word yet from ITV we’ll just have to wait and see if there’s more to come.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to ITV for comment.

When is the final episode of Deep Water on ITV?

The final episode of Deep Water airs on ITV on Wednesday night at 9pm.

The hour-long episode will see Roz (Sinead Keenan) confessing to Lisa about what happened between her and Wayne, while Kate (Rosalind Eleazar) is rushed to hospital, with Lisa becoming increasingly suspicious about her role in Fergus’ health.

If you’ve missed any episodes you can catch up with them on the ITV Hub.

Amber Gill keeps getting messages from fans saying she should date Ovie Soko (Picture: Rex)

Love Island star Amber Gill has revealed she constantly gets fans telling her she should date co-star Ovie Soko.

The 22-year-old beauty therapist won this year’s seasons show, taking home a cool £50,000 with fellow contestant Greg O’Shea.

But just five weeks after taking out the top spot together, Amber said Greg dumped her via text (a fact he strongly denies).

And now it seems like fans are trying to ship her and bestie from the show, Ovie. This is despite Ovie still going strong with couple India Reynolds.

Amber told the RTS Cambridge Conference: ‘I get messages every day about me and a certain other islander. They wanted me to get together with him so badly.’

Amber and Ovie *did* look like they had an amazing connection in the villa, to be fair!

When asked what it’s like dealing with the pressure from fans to know everything about her love life, she responded: ‘A big thing for my generation is the control in being interactive.

‘They want to see what’s happened behind the scenes. They want to see what is happening after. They want to see behind closed doors.

‘If I don’t post on Instagram for a few days I get a million messages like, “What are you doing? What are you doing?”

‘So just like YouTube, showing what’s going on behind the scenes, what happens next.’

Earlier this week, Ovie and India got a playful telling off from Supermarket Sweep host Rylan Clark-Neal for being ‘intimate’.

Rylan joked: ‘Can I just say now while I’m chatting to you guys, Ovie and India – you’re getting very intimate in my supermarket. This is like a swimming pool. We can’t have any heavy petting in here thank you.’

He added: ‘Keep your hands to yourself and your fingers on the buzzers, thank you very much.’

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has called on BBC bosses to bring more Love Island stars on to the dancefloor.

It has long been rumoured that the show has turned its back on the reality star, focusing on BBC favourites, and in recent years, influencers.

But Craig, who will join the judging panel once again in 2019, has suggested that the inclusion of the islanders will make the show ‘inclusive’.

‘I don’t know if Love Island stars will be on Strictly in the future, but I hope so,’ he said.

‘I think now that is the craze, YouTube and reality TV stars are coming to the forefront, I think you have to be prepared for that.’

He told The Sun: ‘You have to keep it classy, you want to keep it social, and it is important to be inclusive – that’s my kind of thing.’

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 is all systems go on 21 September as the couples make their live show debuts in the ballroom.

The series kicked off in early September as this year’s celebrities were paired with their pro dance partners.

And it’s already got off to a dramatic start with Jamie Laing dropping out due to injury, to be replaced by former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher.

‘I was devastated when Jamie hurt himself and I had a long, tearful conversation with him,’ Oti admitted to Radio Times.

‘For a while I thought I had no partner and I was in bed all day thinking, “I can’t do the show!” In moments like that you realise how much you love something.

‘I was feeling really bad, but one of the producers said, “We’ll see what we can do.”‘

Strictly Come Dancing is on at 7pm on BBC One on Saturday.

Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan has opened up about being sexually harassed during public appearances at nightclubs.

The 27-year-old reality star, who shot to fame when the MTV show first hit the air back in 2011, admitted she would dress more modestly to lower the ‘risk’ of being felt up by fans.

Recalling the horror on by BBC Radio 1’s The Reality Tea Podcast, she said: ‘Being in the clubs again opened me up to a lot of trolling in person and a lot of kind of sexual harassment because I would go to club appearances and people would think because I’ve been this person on TV that they had the god-given right to just turn around and grab my boob or try and put their hand up my skirt.

‘It was honestly probably one of the most scariest times of my life.’

Holly continued: ‘I used to go to the cubs in jeans and long tops because if I wore anything that was actually clubby, I put myself more at risk.

‘If my boobs were out I was more at risk. If I had a skirt on I was more at risk of someone putting their hand up it.

‘And I actually started, when I’d get photos with people, keep my bum pressed against the wall so that no one could slip their hand down.’

Holly also told listeners that she used to be trolled by clubgoers on night’s out because she ‘wasn’t the pretty one.’

She confessed that her friends would have food thrown in their faces as they partied with her and that eventually things got so bad that she stopped going out.

The full episode of Holly’s interview on BBC Radio 1’s The Reality Tea Podcast is available on BBC Sounds.

Joe Swash fans believe he may have signed up for the 2020 season of Dancing On Ice after the show’s social teams posted a sneak peek at one of this year’s contestants.

The upcoming season has already been teasing potential celebrities to take to the ice and the latest Instagram post shows a man in a T-shirt and suit jacket with an I’m A Celebrity star poking out of the pocket.

‘We’ve got stars in our eyes over this celeb… Or in our jacket pockets? ✨ #DancingOnIce,’ shared the Instagram page, and fans immediately began to post Joe’s name next to the image.

Joe is known for his love of T-shirts and suits and was crowned King Of The Jungle in 2008 before going on to present the spin-off show, Extra Camp.

Is this Joe? (Picture: Instagram)

An earlier teaser featured the clue: ‘Big hair, don’t care? We wonder who this celeb will be taking to the ice very soon.’

Many believed it was in reference to Diversity’s Perri Kiely.

Dancing On Ice, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, has given its judging panel a revamp after Jason Gardiner decided to quit earlier this year.

He will be replaced by actor John Barrowman who joins Ashley Banjo, and British ice-skating icons Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Jayne recently teased what John would bring to the panel at the TV Choice Awards.

She said: ‘I think he will bring some fair criticism. He might be quite harsh but I think he will explain it in a fun way.

‘I think we will miss Jason and his straight forward comments.’

She went on: ‘We worked with John in the first series and he was actually really quite good.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Joe for comment.

Kim Kardashian’s security tackles Kris Jenner and lands her in neck brace in dramatic scenes

In a case of mistaken identity, Kris Jenner was tackled by Kim Kardashian’s security and rushed to hospital.

As we caught our first glimpse of the next season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, we saw the matriarch of the family Kris being put onto a stretcher.

Not looking the best, we were left wondering what on earth had her being rushed to hospital in such a state.

Now we know – she was tackled by Kim’s security when visiting the house with Khloe Kardashian.

In tense scenes, Kim was travelling in a car with BFF Jonathan Cheban when she received a call from Khloe telling her to rush home immediately.

The 38-year-old was stunned as Khloe, 35, said on the other line: ‘Oh, my God, Kim. You gotta come.

‘Your whole security just f**king tackled mum.’

Kim was shocked to hear the news (Picture: E!)

In the background 63-year-old Kris can be heard moaning ‘Khloe’ and ‘my neck’ as a stressed Kim lets them know she’s rushing home.

Khloe continued: ‘We just called 911. This is so crazy. … The ambulance is on their way here now.’

Kris Jenner rushed to hospital

The reality star began to explain the situation as she told Kim: ‘We were in the backyard, and mum came down, when she shouldn’t have.

‘I told her to go around, and they just tackled her.’

As the car raced along to get Kim home, she said she was going to review the security footage of the incident.

Looking at her phone, she was seemingly able to dial into the surveillance system of the home she shares with Kanye West and their four children, as she gasped when opening it up.

While we don’t know the details of the tackle, Kris is seemingly back to good health now as she’s done a tonne of promo for the series since the incident.

It’s been a rather dramatic start to the season, with Kim recently fearing the worst after she tested positive for lupus antibodies.

The doctor said it was actually psoriatic arthritis, a type of arthritis caused by psoriasis, and not lupus. As a result, her joints are affected, causing them to become swollen, stiff and painful.

Never a dull moment in the life of the Kardashian-Jenners.

Kelly Clarkson has thrown us right back to 2002 by hosting an American Idol reunion with original judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson.

The singer also threw host Ryan Seacrest and first season runner-up Justin Guarini into the mix, and the crew reminisced about the first season of the talent show on her daytime programme The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Music mogul Simon admitted that Kelly completely changed the game when she auditioned – and later won – the first-ever series.

Speaking to his co-stars, he confessed: ‘I actually genuinely do not believe we would be sitting here today if you hadn’t entered the show that year.

‘The whole premise of the show was we had to find a star who was gonna sell records.’

Deep Water review: Soapy dark drama deserved way more hype than it got

Anna Friel was captivating as Lisa (Picture: ITV)

Deep Water bowed out with one final shrill scream of an episode as everything came to a head in this dark soap opera.

With the entire run being made available on ITV Hub straight after episode one, the show pretty much came and went, as everyone could watch at their leisure (or not – one episode will undoubtedly lead to another…then another…).

But it feels like a lot more fanfare should have been made of Deep Water because it’s Really Quite Good. If it was on HBO everyone would be talking about it.

In the finale Kate’s (Rosaline Eleazar) web of lies closed around her neck as Guy (Alistair Mackenzie) exposed the fact she had deliberately encouraged their daughter to stay missing in a twisted attempt to try and win him back.

Roz (Sinead Keenan) had had enough of keeping her horrific attack to herself, and in a belter of a scene exposed she had been sleeping with Scott (Gerald Kyd) for money – the latter part of which Scott’s wife didn’t know about.

And Lisa (Anna Friel) managed to piece her marriage back together after her bathroom tryst with Adam (Steve Toussaint).

It was a sharp role reversal from where we met the three women at the start of the series. Roz and Lisa were in awe of Kate’s lifestyle and her almost too-perfect house, life and hair. At the end Lisa and Roz were on top of the world – figuratively and literally – having gently pieced their families back together while Kate was the wicked witch of the village, suspected of harming her own son.

Kate’s lies were exposed (Picture: ITV)

The storylines throughout have been the sort of stuff EastEnders or Hollyoaks excels at like Roz’s indecent proposal, and Joe (Steve Cree) cruelly going off with the first woman he met in a bar to get back at Lisa for her betrayal.

But the performances, with a very human and relatable nasty streak running through each one, elevated Deep Water to a must-binge drama.

Friel excels when it comes to playing harassed women, usually ones with a secret to keep, and the actress completely disappeared into Lisa’s big jumpers as she fought to get her marriage back.

Roz’s emotions boiled over (Picture: ITV)

She was so watchable, yet the role must surely have been a walk in the park for the Marcella star. It would have been more interesting to see her tackle the glacial Kate, trading in the free-falling, frazzled characters for someone more put together.

Not that Eleazar wasn’t captivating to watch in such a divisive role, particularly the scene with Guy’s new squeeze (the au pair – paging Albert Square!) where the mask slipped and Kate pleaded for the younger woman to ‘give me my husband back’. Did anyone else get the sense she loved her husband slightly more than her kids? Very unsettling.

Kate and Lisa’s roles were reversed (Picture: ITV)

So what are the takeaways from Deep Water? There wasn’t a message or any social commentary as such. It was just six hours of good, old-fashioned domestics; full of moments that made you go “oooh” like that cat from Puss In Boots. And there’s nothing wrong with that at all.

But if there is a message here it’s that TV can learn from recent programmes like Deep Water, Fleabag and Killing Eve. That characters who are women don’t have to just be the supportive wife, or the ‘black best friend’ or even, well, nice. Soaps are already doing it – time for drama to catch up.

Deep Water is available to watch on ITV Hub.

Sean Bean demanded that he didn’t die in WWII drama World On Fire

Sean Bean
Sean Bean plays Douglas in World On Fire (Picture: BBC)

Sean Bean made sure that his character survived before joining World Of Fire.

The actor is known for a weird quirk in his roles where the character he is playing ends up biting the dust.

Ned Stark in Game Of Thrones, Boromir in Lord Of The Rings, Alec Trevelyan in Goldeneye and Ulric in Black Death are just some of the ways Sean has bitten the dust on screen.

It’s something the 60-year-old is well aware of, so before deciding to play Douglas Bennett he only had one question for the show’s creator Peter Bowker.

He told press at the show’s launch: ‘It was a telephone conversation and I said, “I don’t die in this one, do I?” and he said, “No, no you’ll be fine. You’re alright.”‘

So now he knows Douglas makes it out alright (this series anyway!), he’s well up for coming back for more episodes if they get the green light.

Sean said: ‘It’s something that’s just unfolding at the moment and all doors are left open.

Ned Stark death in Game of Thrones
Sean’s character Ned Stark was beheaded in Game Of Thrones (Picture: HBO)

‘There’s a lot more story to tell. I’m certainly interested because I want to know what happens to me children. There’s a lot of good potential to come.’

Bowker backed up the star’s comments, revealing: ‘I’d seen him in Broken and I thought, I bet we can get Sean to do this role, because you can see where actors are moving.

‘And his main concern when I rang him was that he didn’t die. That was it. “Do I die?” “No”, “I’ll do it”.’

World On Fire is a drama set in World War II from the point of view of ordinary people caught in the crossfire.

Helen Hunt, Lesley Manville, Blake Harrison and rising talents Jonah Hauer-King, Julia Brown, Yrsa Daley-Ward and Kasia Tomaszeski also star.

World On Fire starts 29 September on BBC One.

David Tennant is a world away from Good Omens character in Netflix’s Criminal as new pics emerge

David Tennant is worlds away from his Good Omens character in the upcoming new Netflix series Criminal.

In fresh pictures provided exclusively to Metro.co.uk, the legendary actor is seen looking stressed and tired as he stares intently at the table during his interrogation in one snapshot.

Meanwhile, another shows him crossing his arms and frowning as he engages in conversation with his lawyer, with a third seeming as though he’s recalling the events of a crime he has committed.

Criminal is a 12-part series that takes place entirely within the confines of a police interview suite across four different countries and David’s character is seen wearing a blue pullover and a checked buttondown shirt for the duration.

Yep, he’s a far cry from demon Crowley, the demon he played in the Amazon Prime Video series released earlier this year.

The first trailer dropped for the drama dropped earlier this month, with audiences seeing a number of people being brought in for questioning in police stations in the UK, France, Spain and Germany.

Picture: BBC Prep: Back Into The Closet - Good Omens
We must admit David looks a little different to his Good Omen’s character Crowley (Picture: Amazon Prime)

Not much was given away in the trailer, but audiences got to see the infamous Doctor Who star accompanied into the station by two coppers.

As he’s seen again, David seems concerned and almost defeated as he’s put under the microscope. It remains under wraps what exactly his character’s crime has committed.

Each episode of the new Netflix offering tells a different story written and directed by the country’s finest talent and starring its biggest actors.

On top of that, each episode will be recorded in the country’s original language, with viewers from around the world able to dub the speech or use subtitles based on their viewing preferences.

World On Fire stars Blake Harrison and Parker Sawyers are avoiding social media reaction to their new drama.

The actors are going to try and avoid reading the hashtag when World On Fire airs later this month.

Harrison, likely speaking from experience when fans reacted badly to the Inbetweeners 10th anniversary event Fwends Reunited, said negative feedback online can take you to ‘bad mental places’.

Speaking to press at the World On Fire launch, he said: ‘ think this will be one of those things that trends or something like that. It’s a terrible idea to click on it and just swipe through.

‘I think it’s fine to look at your own feed because generally speaking, touch wood, people are generally positive when they’re tagging you in stuff.

‘You do get the odd time when people aren’t, but I’ve found it very rare. It’s generally really positive and that’s lovely, that’s really nice.’

The actor, who plays Stan in World On Fire, added: ‘You have to take it with a pinch of salt. It’s easy to let things like social media suck you down this horrible little void of negativity. And it can lead you to some bad mental places, and it is hard to sometimes avoid it. But you’ve gotta try and do everything in your power to avoid it.’

His co-star Parker Sawyers added that it wasn’t a ‘wise’ idea to look at what people were tweeting about, but came up with a solution.

‘We should invent an app that sorts out compliments versus whatever,’ he said.

‘I was really proud of it watching it, so I hope people view it and think like I do. Not just because I’m in it, but because there’s tons I’m not aware of.

‘I really enjoyed it. But you never know how the public’s gonna respond. You just cross your fingers and hope.’

World On Fire starts 29 September on BBC One.

Celebrity MasterChef fans call out ‘unfair’ challenge as women’s team gets ‘harder dish’

Celebrity MasterChef fans were unhappy with the show for giving the women’s team a ‘harder’ dish to cook.

One of the challenges in Wednesday’s episode saw the celebrities split into two teams and make the same dish without being able to see what the other person is doing, communicating by calling over a wall.

Olympic long jumper Greg Rutherford and boxer Dillian Whyte had to make pork and beef meatballs with gnocchi and tomato sauce, while American Motown singer Martha Reeves and actress Elizabeth Bourgine were tasked with lobster bolognese.

Martha and Elizabeth were at a loss at first because neither of them had ever made pasta from scratch or cooked lobster.

Viewers argued on Twitter that lobster is definitely harder to make than meatballs, and that the women’s team were at a disadvantage.

However the boys had to get over the small obstacle of working how big their balls should be.

Presenter and judge John Torode said: ‘They should be the size of a golf ball, the problem is Greg and Dillion both don’t play golf.’

But despite their challenging dish, Martha and Elizabeth scored praise for their flavours, and the fact they managed to put together a complete dish at all.

Gregg Wallace said: ‘We’ve got two very different looking dishes, one of spaghetti one of tagliatelle.

‘I’m really amazed because neither of you two had ever prepared lobster, and neither of you two had ever made pasta. So I have to congratulate both of you for getting a dish out at all.’

While Martha was congratulated for ‘big bold and gutsy flavour’, Elizabeth wsa criticised for overdoing it with the brandy in her dish.

And Greg and Dillion also did well with their flavours, but the technique fell slightly short, with Gregg saying: ‘I like both sets, I think they are cooked and nicely flavoured with herbs. Your gnocchi’s fallen to bits. Greg your sauce flavour is slightly lacking.’

John added: ‘Dillion I think your sauce and meatballs taste absolutely great. Greg, salt and pepper. You just need a bit more seasoning.’

Celebrity MasterChef continues Friday at 9pm on BBC One.

Kodi Lee has been crowned the winner of America’s Got Talent.

Kodi, who is blind and autistic, triumphed in the live final, winning the $1m prize money and his own Las Vegas show at Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in November.

The 22-year-old saw off competition from Detroit Youth Choir, comedian Ryan Niemiller, dance troupe V Unbeatable and singers Voices Of Service.

Other finalists were opera singer Emanne Beasha, violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa, singer Benicio Bryant, Ndlovu Youth Choir and dance troupe Light Balance Kids.

For the finale Kodi, who was Gabrielle Union’s Golden Buzzer act, performed You Are The Reason by Calum Scott. It was the song he previously performed in the quarterfinals.

To make his finale performance extra special he was joined by Leona Lewis, no stranger to singing competitions having won The X Factor in 2006.

The California native was born with optic nerve hypoplasia and survived life-saving surgery when he was just five days old, later being diagnosed with autism aged four.

Simon Cowell called him ‘extraordinary’ in his audition, where he performed a piano rendition of Donny Hathaway’s A Song For You.

‘I don’t know what it’s like to live in Kodi’s world, all I can tell is that obviously you have an amazing relationship, the two of you, and your voice is absolutely fantastic.

His audition went viral and racked up 45 million views on YouTube.

Michelle Collins was asked to appear on Strictly Come Dancing four years ago.

The actress was offered the chance to appear on the hit show in 2015, but her agent at the time urged her to turn it down.

The show apparently hasn’t forgotten the knock-back, as the Coronation Street star said producers haven’t approached her since.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, she was asked why she has never taken to the ballroom floor.

Admitting that the show was ‘not for me’ Michelle explained: ‘I’ll be honest, they asked me four years ago, and I turned it down because I was with an agent who was a bit snobby about it.

‘I’d just gone with this new agent and they said, “Oh I don’t think you should”, and they’ve never asked me since.

‘It’s not me being, you know, a bit snobby…’.

Turning to host Kate Garraway, who was on Strictly in 2009, the former EastEnders star asked: ‘It’s scary, isn’t it?’

Kate joked: ‘I thought I was gonna win it, Michelle. When I said yes I thought, well look at me I’m brilliant at weddings.’

Michelle added: ‘A lot of [contestants] now have had dance training or gone to stage school.’

Outnumbered star Claire Skinner has finally broken her silence over her romance with co-star Hugh Dennis during today’s Lorraine.

The couple famously played Sue and Pete Brockman in the BBC comedy which followed a typically two point three family, whose children were hysterically chaotic with parents up and down the country coming to the realisation they’re not alone.

Then last summer, two years after Claire left her husband Charles Palmer and Hugh split with wife Kate Abbot-Anderson, they confirmed they were in a relationship and had been living together for a year, which was still, understandably, a sore subject for his family.

‘I am aware of what has happened. My mother does not want to talk about it. Neither do I,’ Hugh’s duaghter told the Daily Mail at the time.

Though they both insisted nothing happened until long after their respective break-ups.

Speaking to Lorraine today, Claire enthused: ‘It’s a lovely little life surprise.’

‘Thing is if you know someone really well it just cuts out the whole first dates malarkey. You know what his favourite colour is and you know if he likes brown sauce,’ relationship guru Lorraine quipped.

Claire agreed: ‘Yeah we can just move on. It’s been lovely.’

After speculation, Hugh confirmed his relationship with Claire, in a short but sweet statement.

‘I am very, very happy, we are so very happy. It’s nice and yes, it’s so lovely,’ he told the Mail on Sunday as the news of their relationship broke.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am on ITV.

Mark Ronson squirms as he’s asked about Miley Cyrus split in awkward interview

Mark Ronson checks in with his mate Miley Cyrus for updates on how she’s doing since splitting from Liam Hemsworth

The producer, who recently worked with Miley on the single Nothing Breaks Like A Heart, popped in to Good Morning Britain to talk about his new album Late Night Feelings.

Presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard probed a bit about the DJ’s friendship with the singer, asking if he knew how she was doing since her marriage breakdown.

Looking slightly awkward, he explained: ‘She’s just become a good friend so I just check in with her like, “Hey are you doing ok?” and this kind of thing.

‘I don’t know too much of the details.’

He was also probed about his own heartbreak, having split from model Joséphine de La Baume last year.

Trying to steer the interview back to his album, the 44-year-old said: ‘I’m doing alright. I think there’s a lot of other people involved in this record, not everyone was going through a break up but everyone knows what it feels like.

It’s a little like therapy, I just have Elton John’s sad songs in my head while I’m speaking to you.’

Viewers felt just as awkward watching as they felt the questions were a bit too personal.

One viewer comment on Twitter said: ‘Come on Kate Garraway – why you’re bringing up Miley Cyrus with @MarkRonson – speak to him about his music!!! He clearly was uncomfortable with this!’

‘Garroway blatantly looking for Miley Cyprus goss’ read a further tweet.

‘Good morning Britain seriously need to get better techniques at interviewing, you’re interviewing Mark Ronson about his music not his broken marriage and miley cryus leaving Liam Hemsworth…’ another said.

Another viewer added: ‘Mark Ronson does not seem very happy.’

The Big Bang Theory plot hole in Sheldon’s Nobel Prize speech has finally cleared up

Big Bang Theory Amy Sheldon
The Big Bang Theory finale plot hole finally cleared up (Picture: BACKGRID)

Why didn’t Sheldon thank Dr. Sturgis in his Nobel Prize speech during The Big Bang Theory finale?

It’s a plot hole which has been an understandable source of frustration for TBBT fans since Sheldon finally scooped his gong, but Young Sheldon executive producer Steve Molaro has finally cleared things up.

During his speech, Sheldon thanked all the key players in his life who had popped up during The Big Bang Theory, but with Young Sheldon introducing other figures from his childhood there was an obvious snub.

‘Sheldon’s speech was intended to honour the history of Big Bang,’ Steve explained, ‘It didn’t seem like the right time to invoke specific characters from Young Sheldon. He mentions “all the men in his life,” which would include Dr. Sturgis.’

Satisfied? Nah, us neither.

The Big Bang Theory ended almost six months ago and it’s still unimaginable to think that’s the last we’ll see of Sheldon, Amy, Penny, Leonard, Bernadette, Howard and Raj. But if you thought we’d get to catch up with them as kids, think again.

Showrunner Steve also basically ruled out revisiting the past of any of our TBBT heroes, no matter how desperately the fandom wants it.

Young Sheldon: Sheldon (Iain Armitage)
Young Sheldon’s heroes were snubbed in The Big Bang Theory finale (Picture: CBS)

‘The goal in seeing the Big Bang characters as kids was to pay tribute to the Bang series finale, which also aired that night,’ he added to TV Line. ‘So, it’s unlikely. But I’ll never say never.’

The Big Bang Theory finale was immediately followed by a Young Sheldon, who saw the aspiring scientist trying to listen to the Nobel Prize announcement – after he won one in The Big Bang Theory finale – before the spin-off cut to all The Big Bang Theory heroes as their childhood selves.

Well lap it up because that’s the last time you’ll see little Leonard or Penny.

However, there is a good chance a The Big Bang Theory spin-off series is in the works after director Mark Cendrowski suggested there could be another sister series coming in a ‘couple of years’.

‘I think the idea of letting things percolate a little, and you don’t want to cash in,’ he explained to Forbes.

‘That doesn’t mean that won’t happen and, in a couple of years, maybe it’s a character or a couple of characters that catch up within a couple of years. Who knows if it will happen. I wouldn’t be a betting man on that, and I don’t know one way or the other.

The Big Bang Theory cast
We’ll never see The Big Bang Theory lot as kids again (Picture: CBS)

‘I think with these characters you’re going to want to know what happens to them in a few years.

‘If in five years Chuck Lorre decided to bring back some characters and try something again, I would love to be involved. It would be just a continuation.

‘There’s plenty to explore with their lives and characters moving forward. That said, it would have to be its own show with its own reason for being.’

Metro.co.uk conducted a poll with The Big Bang Theory fans revealing they would most like to see a Leonard and Penny spin-off in the works. Now the sitcom has been bought by HBO, we’re looking at them to make this happen.

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix.
