Channel 4 reality hit The Circle returned as a ratings winner on Tuesday night, attracting its largest ever audience for a launch show that enticed 1.3 million people to tune in.

Positioning a group of contestants in a block of flats, confined only to communicating through social media, the show is now being spearheaded by Emma Willis, who has taken over from previous presenters Maya Jama and Alice Levine.

Introducing the fun live from a Salford studio in a mustard-coloured suit, Willis promised plenty of twists and turns this year, as well as the chance for fans to control the destiny of the participants.

This year, the line-up includes Tim, a Robin Williams lookalike bringing a cat in tow, and Woody Cook – son of Norman Cook and Zoe Ball.

Want to know when to tune in or just confused by what the show is all about? We’ve got you covered…

When is The Circle on Channel 4?

Having launched at 9.15pm on Tuesday, The Circle is continuing in a primetime slot on Channel 4.

The show takes place after another reality regular, First Dates Hotel, when it returns for its next instalment at 10pm tonight.

A photo of The Circle contestant Georgina as series two of the show starts on Channel 4

Every episode will take place at the same time for the rest of the series, but on Fridays a live show will welcome a panel of celebrities guests and the latest player to be blocked – essentially, evicted – from the show.

The series is scheduled to run for just over seven weeks, with the grand final taking place on October 18th.

Who is on The Circle TV show?

Arguably the greatest surprise this year is the inclusion of Richard Madeley, the gaffe-prone veteran TV presenter known for his well-meaning outbursts and gently probing interviews on shows including Richard & Judy and This Morning.

This is not the first time Madeley has signed a surprise deal with Channel 4, having left ITV, where he had presented Richard & Judy with wife Judy Finnigan for 13 years, to join the channel in 2001.

Their early-evening show on the channel continued until 2008, and the couple, who have been married for more than 23 years, have remained TV fixtures in various formats since then.

Richard’s rivals on The Circle include 24-year-old disclosure officer Brooke, 31-year-old model Emelle, 21-year-old Georgina – who will celebrate her 22nd birthday on Saturday – and 26-year-old Liverpudlian recruitment consultant James.

Warning: the video below contains some bad language

Among the plans divulged by the contestants, 43-year-old Katie plans to use the platform to play her 25-year-old son, Jay.

The tanning salon owner from Hampshire says she will use her persona to introduce alpha male banter to The Circle and play the flirt.

University professor Tim, who is a doppelganger for actor Williams, and Somerset farmer Sy are also on the show, together with 18-year-old Cook, whose father is best known as DJ Fatboy Slim.

Can I watch The Circle online? How can I download The Circle’s app?

Fans who can’t watch the show live will be able to catch up online as the drama unfolds in the race to win £100,000.

Last year’s winner, Alex Hobern, earned £75,000 after convincing everyone that he was a woman called Kate, using photos of his girlfriend to strengthen his story.

Intriguingly, viewers will be able to decide what profile Madeley takes by deciding his profile in votes via The Circle app, which is available via the iTunes store and Google Play.

Fans were dumbstruck by Madeley’s transformation on The Circle (Picture: Channel 4)

In the first show, fans decided Madeley should play a female role when they were given the choice between the presenter taking on a character of Richard or Judy.

Madeley’s niece, Claire, told Willis: ‘I think he’s probably the nation’s embarrassing uncle. We’re used to him – we love him.

‘Our whole family’s the same – everybody’s as embarrassing as each other. It’s just that he’s on telly, embarrassing us for the family.’

The first two episodes of The Circle series two, as well as every episode from series one, are available on Channel 4’s website.

The Circle continues on Channel 4 tonight at 10pm.

The full line-up for Dancing On Ice 2020 has reportedly been leaked early, featuring Trisha Goddard and Joe Swash.

A number of contestants have already been confirmed for next year’s series, but now the full line-up is claimed to have been revealed featuring some surprising faces.

According to The Sun, talk show host Trisha Goddard is among the unconfirmed contestants alongside Joe Swash, after he recently quit hosting I’m A Celebrity spin-off show Extra Camp.

Diversity’s Perri Kiely is also claimed to be on the line-up, who could be facing critique from his dance mate Ashley Banjo on the judging panel.

Others include the previously rumoured Caprice, Paralympic athlete Libby Clegg, and magician Ben Hanlin, who is believed to have replaced Kelvin Fletcher before he signed up for Strictly Come Dancing.

Metro.co.uk reached out to ITV who refused to comment.

ITV newsreader Lucrezia Millarini was the fourth confirmed contestant, followed by Ian ‘H’ Watkins from Steps, and Coronation Street actress Lucy George.

Next year’s series is the first without judge Jason Gardiner, who quit the show earlier this year and will be replaced by John Barrowman.

Ashley Banjo will remain on the judging panel alongside Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

This Morning fans will have to wait a little while to see Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield interview more special guests and discuss the big issues of the day, as the show has been temporarily ousted from ITV’s schedule.

Wednesday’s show saw an early mention of Christmas with the unveiling of beauty advent calendars and a chat with Strictly Come Dancing partners Anneka Rice and Kevin Clifton.

Intimacy coach Camilla Constance also told Phillip and Holly about a few racy bedroom techniques, and Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski rustled up some smoky chicken skillet fajitas.

So why has the show been put on the backburner today and when is it back?

Why isn’t This Morning on today and when is it back?

England take on the USA in the Rugby World Cup in Japan today, and ITV has the rights to show the game live.

Coverage of the match starts at 11am, meaning This Morning will make way for Sir Clive Woodward, Jonny Wilkinson and friends as they follow England’s World Cup progress live.

The Pool C clash takes over the schedule until 2pm, so Loose Women, which usually follows This Morning, is also cancelled today.

This Morning will also take a break on Monday, when Scotland meet Samoa, and Thursday, when Ireland face Russia.

This Morning continues on Friday September 27 on ITV, starting at 10.30am and running until 12.30pm.

The Apprentice candidate Thomas Skinner has spoken candidly about his past in which he was convicted of handling £40,000 of stolen goods.

The 28-year-old east Londoner sold himself to Lord Alan Sugar as a young man who was selling on the markets aged 16 and has since set up his own pillow company.

However, The Sun newspaper revealed he was charged with dishonestly handling 4,992 tubes of Body Shop cleansing gels, reportedly worth nearly £40,000 and having 2,000 diazepam tablet, and was later sentenced in court. His conviction has now been spent.

‘Many years ago before I had my business, I used to work on the markets. I was young and naive and bought stock from a source I didn’t know. I wasn’t aware the stock was stolen and paid the consequences for the mistake I made,’ Skinner has now admitted.

‘That is now well in my past, and I have had a string of successful companies since then. I now only buy from trusted sources and employ five people. I was put in situations I didn’t fully understand when I was younger.’

He added: ‘But they have made me the man I am now.

‘I am a changed man.’

A BBC spokesperson added: ‘DBS checks are done for all The Apprentice candidates by the production company ahead of filming.

‘A spent conviction is not disclosed under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Spent convictions are designed to help people move on in life and not be excluded from opportunities to help further their careers.’

Sixteen new hopefuls will take part in the new season of the hit BBC show including athletes, bakery owners, and a librarian.

Lord Sugar will be testing the candidates as they all attempt to win a £250,000 investment for their business, with the first episode taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.

In the premiere episode, candidates will be tasked with creating, setting up, and running bespoke tours around the outskirts of Cape Town – ranging from Safari tours to Vineyard excursions.

The opening episode will also run for an extended length, expanding by five minutes to a total runtime of 64 minutes for a special bumper premiere.

The Apprentice begins on Wednesday 2 October on BBC One at 9pm. The Apprentice You’re Fired will follow on BBC Two.

Arlene Phillips has joined the growing chorus calling for same-sex couples on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 76-year-old choreographer and presenter stood down as a judge on the show in 2008, where she was replaced by Alesha Dixon.

Arlene has since spoken out about having same-sex couples on Strictly, believing the show should catch-up with the modern dance world where it’s now commonplace.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Arlene said: ‘It’s happening in the dance world. There are many same-sex couples in dance competitions, it just isn’t on television.

‘It’s common, it’s not even thought about. It’s part of dance, and it’s part of storytelling.’

The BBC recently declared they’re ‘completely open’ to having same-sex couples on the show, something which could feature on next year’s competition.

In a statement on the issue, a BBC spokesperson said: ‘Strictly Come Dancing is an inclusive show and we are proud to have featured same-sex dancing amongst the professional dancers in group numbers in previous series.

‘We are completely open to the prospect of including same sex pairings between our celebrities and professional dancers in the future, should the opportunity arise.’

The Australian version of the show had their first same-sex pairing earlier this year, when drag queen Courtney Act reached the final with professional Joshua Keefe.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Oti Mabuse teased same-sex couples on Strictly have a better chance of happening under new boss Sarah James.

‘We have a new series producer this year, Sarah James, and this will be the first time that she’s stepped into that role,’ Oti said.

‘You never know. You never know what could happen. I don’t wanna say anything and jinx it and then people get excited. Let’s see. It will be her opportunity to show off where she intends to take this show.’

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One 6.40pm.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia returned for season 14 last night with the gang’s reckless behaviour being cranked up yet another gear in Glenn Howerton’s directorial debut.

Charlie (played by Charlie Day) and Frank’s (Danny DeVito) grotesque living conditions only became more disturbing when they invited two backpackers back to their horrifically grubby apartment and managed to convince them to have sex.

Only, they turned out to be heroin addicts, even if that hasn’t put off Frank before.

After 14 seasons, It’s Always Sunny only gets more absurd with each new chapter and the introduction to its latest run immediately followed suit.

So, in turn, the verdict is in and fans are just as enamored by Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis, Dee (Kaitlin Olson), Charlie, and Frank today as they were more than a decade ago:

The cast walked the It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia season 14 red carpet just hours before fans laid their eyes on The Gang Gets Romantic.

Well, all the cast except Glenn who was replaced with Dennis’ immensely disturbing sex doll.

Rob McElhenney shared the group shot online and wrote: ‘From our family to yours, thank you for inviting us into your homes for 14 years. See you tonight. #sunny.’

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia continues on FX in the US and is expected to drop on Netflix later this year.

Peter Kay has announced that his series Phoenix Nights will be screened to celebrate its 19th anniversary.

The much-loved sitcom, which starred Peter alongside Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice, was originally broadcast between 2001 and 2002 on Channel 4, and will now be screened in both London and Manchester in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Confirming the exciting news on Twitter, the 46-year-old said: ‘It’s almost 19yrs since the Phoenix Club first opened its doors. To celebrate that very special anniversary, both series of #PhoenixNights will be shown on the big screen for the first time in aid of @CR_UK.’

And of course, fans have shared their anticipation in the replies – while also questioning where the long-awaited third series for the show is.

‘Series 3 needs to happen. Best comedy show of all time,’ one fan said, while adding a thumbs up emoji to their comment.

‘Please it bring it back Peter!’ another added.

‘One of the best comedy series of all time. Needs to come back again for another series,’ another chimed in.

Phoenix Nights was a big success upon its initial broadcast on Channel 4.

The series focused on the fictional Phoenix Club, a working men’s club located in the English town of Bolton.

As well as starring in the series, Peter was also the writer and creator of the show, and he directed six episodes of the second series.

The screenings will be taking place at the Eventim Apollo in London and the O2 Apollo in Manchester between January and February 2020, with tickets set to go on sale at 9am on Saturday 28 September.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look as if the screenings are coming to other UK cities, but fingers crossed that more dates will be announced.

Phoenix Nights series 1 and 2 are available on DVD.

Stranger Things fans demand answers as David Harbour unveils a new look – and a questionable love interest

David Harbour plays Jim Hopper in Stranger Things
David Harbour is rocking a new look (Picture: Netflix)

After rocking a shaggy beard for the past few months and having us all believe a Stranger Things season 4 clue was hiding in there somewhere, David Harbour has revealed a new look – and a questionable new love interest.

Stranger Things 3 ended with Hopper appearing to perish in the contained blast detonated by Joyce (played by Winona Ryder) to save Hawkins from being engulfed by The Upside Down Town.

Our hearts are still bleeding but our senses are saying the cop’s story is far from done. After the final credits rolled out of season three, we discovered a figure known only as ‘The American’ was being held captive by the USSR. That American we can assume is Hopper.

Of course we won’t know anything until season four comes at us in 2020, but Harbour’s now shaved off his beard, is sporting a ponytail and has found love with a mannequin.

Harbour shared a photo of himself on Instagram and wrote: ‘Goodbye long, scraggly, surprisingly soft, Walt Whitman beard. Adieu beige hotel room. Goodnight sweet strange mannequin I never knew what to do with in the corner of the room.

‘Farewell Alexi, you big bold bright burly hope of Russia, you complicated tortured soul, you guardian of the red.’

David Harbour
Stranger Things fans want answers – but they won’t like it (Picture: Instagram/David Harbour)

Naturally, fans are demanding to know WTF is going on.

‘WHAT DOES THAT MEAN’, ‘YOU’RE SO CONFUSING STOP IT RN,’ and other equally alarmed comments flooded his comments box and, sadly, it has nothing to do with Stranger Things.

The 44-year-old has just wrapped up filming Marvel’s Black Widow, which obviously we’re very excited about even if it’s not an answer to Stranger Things.

In the meantime, fans think they’ve worked out how Hopper survived the blast and their theory has legs.

Stranger Things seasons one to three are available to stream on Netflix. Season four is expected to follow in 2020.

Created by and starring Idris, the show is a semi-autobiographical comedy based on the actor’s childhood in 1980s London.

The second series picks up as Walter (Idris Elba) is elected as a union representative at the factory, where a tricky negotiation tests his strength of character.

His colleagues Bagpipes (Bill Bailey) and Rajesh (Neil D’Souza) meanwhile are planning to strike to save their jobs, while Agnes (Madeline Appiah) is hoping to kick-start a new career at the local council.

Kirsty (Kellie Shirley) and Bagpipes also have to contend with the arrival of the real father of daughter Melissa, while Valentine (Jimmy Akingbola) is struggling with the realities of bachelor life.

The first series, which aired last year, met a positive critical reception, with Metro.co.uk’s review stating the show ‘effortlessly embodies the duality of being both black and British’.

Andrew Scott has been cast in a new TV adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s Tom Ripley novels.

The 42-year-old actor, who recently became everyone’s favourite ‘Hot Priest’ in Fleabag, will play the lead character on the new series for US network Showtime.

Titled Ripley, the eight-episode series will be adapted by writer and director Steven Zaillian, whose past works include Schindler’s List, Gangs Of New York, and Moneyball.

Making the announcement (via The Hollywood Reporter), Showtime president of entertainment, Gary Levine, said: ‘We are so thrilled to have the supremely talented filmmaker, Steve Zaillian, adapt the singular saga of Tom Ripley from Patricia Highsmith’s novels as an ongoing series for Showtime.

‘With Andrew Scott, whose charisma knows no bounds, inhabiting the iconic lead role, we feel confident that this will be a special one.’

The new show is set to follow Tom Ripley from 1960s New York to Italy after he’s hired by a wealthy man to retrieve his vagabond son and return him to America.

The Darkness just took on Feeder in Bargain Hunt and it was every inch as surreal as you’re imagining

They were indie-pop rivals in the noughties and today The Darkness and Feeder went head to head once again – on Bargain Hunt.

To celebrate BBC Radio 6 Music Day, the two bands went head to head to, you know, hunt for the best bargain.

It. Was. Wild.

Stanford Meadows Antique Fair played home to two of the UK’s biggest bands of years gone by as Justin Hawkins and Frankie Poullain of chart-topping glam rock idols The Darkness took on student union heroes Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose from Feeder.

Both groups were given £300 to buy three items and make a profit and, honestly, what a time to be alive.

‘This is the thing my mother has been dreaming about for years now,’ explained Justin. ‘This is all for her.’

Your eyes do not deceive you – that is The Darkness and Feeder on Bargain Hunt (Picture; BBC)

‘I’m a huge fan of Bargain Hunt, a massive fan’ agreed Grant. ‘My kids are like, “Dad, it’s Bargain Hunt again.” It all feels a bit surreal for me at the moment being on one of my favourite TV shows.’

Both teams set off on their separate ways, buddied up with a pair of experts to find an item that ‘rocks’ and an item that ‘rolls’ (genius), wading through tables of knackered lamps and Rod Stewart vinyl to find their offering for auction.

Turns out both The Darkness and Feeder were shocking, but the I Believe In A Thing Called Love stars coming out on top with a loss of £22.

Congratulating Justin and Frankie, presenter Natasha Raskin Sharp – who was very excited – howled: ‘Does it feel as good as topping the charts?’

‘It’s hasn’t sunk in yet,’ enthused Justin. ‘We were just delighted to play.’

The Darkness’ triumph follows Pulp beating Happy Mondays in Bargain Hunt last year after the Step On band were disqualified for cheating.

Bargain Hunt airs weekdays at 12.15pm on BBC One.

‘At @itv having meeting about @imacelebrity. Finding out what’s in store and this years celebs…’ the pair shared on Instagram, also including emojis with zipped lips and shocked faces.

The 2019 season will be the first one back with the pair after Ant took time off in 2018 following his drink driving conviction.

As yet there’s no confirmed date for the start of the new series. However the previous series’ has kicked off in mid-November, so if it follows the same pattern this year you can expect to see it on screens around the same time.

TV presenters like me and Naga Munchetty must be able to speak freely about racism

Will Njobvu
I have spoken on Jeremy Vine about how damaging stop and search is and my own experience of it (Picture: Channel 5)

As a TV presenter who comfortably speaks out about racism, I think the news that BBC host Naga Munchetty has been reprimanded for sharing her experience of racism and opinions on Donald Trump’s tweets is a step backwards.

This action is likely to instill fear into presenters, which will make them feel they can’t share their views or experiences when it comes to stories like this.

But it is extremely important that broadcasters from ethnic minorities are able to speak freely about their experiences on-air.

Munchetty’s opinion echoed the voices and thoughts of all ethnic minorities in the UK, including myself, who have received such racist abuse – and that’s what we need on television.

With so few presenters of colour on mainstream TV in Britain and negative representations of ethnic minorities in the media, we need to be given the chance to share our experiences and opinions on stories like this without fearing we’ll get in trouble.

Chances are, presenters of colour will have slightly different life experiences to their peers and they will have experienced racism. Speaking out will only help raise awareness, encourage better representation, change perceptions and shine light on the seriousness of issues like this to a wider audience. This is what on-screen diversity is all about.

Fortunately, my bosses at the Jeremy Vine show on Channel 5 are extremely supportive of me sharing my experiences of racism and my views on stories like this while I’m on air.

When Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans to extend stop and search powers in August, I talked about my own experience of being stopped and searched and highlighted just how damaging it can be.

I said: ‘I’ve been stopped and searched twice in my life and it was the most demeaning and demoralising experience ever. After that, I thought “Do I trust the police? After they going to keep trying to catch me on a crime I’ve never even committed.”

‘And I’ve never committed a crime in my life so it was really upsetting. On both occasions they said I looked like a suspect, what does that actually mean?’

By sharing my experience I was particularly keen to highlight the fact that innocent black men, including myself, are being stopped and searched randomly for no reason and there are better ways to tackle crime.

Some people genuinely think it’s only the young guys wearing hoods all day who are being stopped – so I felt it was important for me to speak up and explain that’s not the case.

I remember coming off the show and thanking my editor for allowing me to share my story and opinion on stop-and-search because I felt was extremely important for me to do it. Because who else would have? I was the only on-air contributor on that day who had experienced that.

I recently sent out a tweet explaining that I have received some backlash online, mainly in my Instagram and Facebook DMs – where I’ve received racist abuse and have been called a monkey. This may be as a result of making some of those comments or just because some people are still racist in 2019 – but either way, but I don’t regret it.

Meanwhile, I have also received positive messages from young black men and women who have thanked me for being vocal and sharing my experiences on TV and on social media. Something that proves to me how important speaking up is.

Similarly, Good Morning Britain’s weatherman Alex Beresford interrupted a heated debate about knife crime live on air – sharing his own opinion about the epidemic. He sadly later on lost his cousin to a stabbing.

This is an experience some of the other on-air hosts might not have had at that moment in time – but it was important that he shared it as his opinions spoke for many in the UK.

Anyone who has had the words ‘go back to your country’ muttered to them understands how damaging it can be and clearly TV presenter Naga Munchetty does too.

It happened to me for the first time in Harrow not long after I graduated from university. I was jumping on a bus to my local hospital radio station, which I used to attend every Thursday.

It was around six in the evening and the bus was packed. Just as I was about to hop on, a man, who seemed quite drunk said ‘why are you here, go back to wherever you’re from.’

At that moment I felt like a carpet had been pulled from underneath my feet. That feeling of belonging in the UK I’ve had all my life disappeared for a few minutes. If that wasn’t racism, then what was it?

The comment suggests the person being told it does not belong in the country and ethnic minorities will always be perceived as immigrants – regardless of whether they were born in the country and have citizenship there or not.

I just hope that as a woman of colour, Naga Munchetty will continue to share her life experiences and opinions when necessary.

What was it like to be the one to break up Rachel and Ross in Friends? Gunther star had ‘terrifying’ ordeal

Friends fans waited for years before Ross and Rachel finally kissed after two seasons of back and forth only for them to be broken up almost as soon as their romance had begun, with a little nudge from Gunther.

Ultimately, Ross (played by David Schwimmer) jumped into bed with the first girl who showed any interest hours after Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) decided they should go on a ‘break’, but it was her boss at Central Perk who relished in putting the final nail in their coffin.

Julie star Lauren Tom revealed she would get booed when Ross returned back from his trip to China with a girl who wasn’t Rachel under his arm, but James Michael Tyler got screamed at on the subway.

‘They’d just given me some lines and established Gunther as a character and then immediately they gave me the biggest foil of the series,’ James exclusively told Metro.co.uk. ‘He’s kind of responsible for their break-up in many ways. Although, Ross did do a bad thing. Gunther just told Rachel.’

Recalling the worst of the backlash, James revealed: ‘I was taking the subway downtown and a lady sat right across from me, and of course I had the Gunther hair, I was pretending to read my paper and she was just glaring at me.

‘At one point I made contact with her and she just screamed at me, “Gunther, you’re a terrible person. You’re a terrible man! Ross and Rachel would still be together!”

‘She was screaming so the next subway stop, the doors opened and I got off. It wasn’t my stop but I got off. I was terrified but I was more humiliated.’

Director Kevin S. Bright admitted to us that Ross and Rachel were never actually supposed to go on a break at all. But when they’d finally found their bliss ‘the air had kind of gone out of the balloon’.

‘I thought what Marta [Kauffman] and David [Crane] did, which was such a brilliant and brave move with their relationship, as soon as everyone got their wish the wish was taken away. It made it so much better when they did get together.’

James is in town for London’s Friendsfest which is even bigger and better to celebrate the sitcom’s 25th anniversary. If you missed out on the fun the spectacle will be returning this Christmas with FriendsFestive and you can grab tickets here.

Friends airs daily on Comedy Central.

Strictly’s Michelle Visage gets her rightful mash-up with Drag Race’s Sasha Velour

Strictly Drag Race mash up
This is all we ever wanted (Picture: BBC)

When we heard that Michelle Visage would be performing to Whitney Houston’s So Emotional on Strictly Come Dancing, we were virtually surrounded by falling rose petals as we envisioned an ode to Sasha Velour.

So we were pretty sad that there was not a reference to the RuPaul Drag Race season nine winner’s iconic finale performance in week one of Strictly.

But never fear, as BBC Three has come to our rescue.

The channel has created a mash-up of Michelle’s cha cha with Giovanni Pernice with Sasha’s epic lip sync to So Emotional – but this time, Dave Arch’s band’s version – and it is truly epic.

Michelle and Gio got 30 out of 40 for their first routine, so we only can imagine how many extra points they would have got for a rosey wig reveal.

We’re set to get a double dose of Michelle over the next seven days, as not only will she be performing her second dance – a Viennese Waltz to That’s Amore by Dean Martin – she will be on the judging panel for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

The eagerly anticipated series is hitting our screens on 3 October, with 10 UK queens battling it out to be named the UK’s next drag superstar.

Gentlemen, start your engines (Picture: PA)

RuPaul will of course be at the helm, with Michelle as his right hand woman, while Alan Carr and Graham Norton will be alternating as judges.

And there’s a very impressive line-up of extra special guest judges, with Cheryl, Andrew Garfield, Twiggy, Jade Thirlwall and Geri Horner all set to survey the runway.

As well as the queens being from a different part of the globe, viewers can expect a higher level of smut from the UK version.

Co-creator Fenton Bailey told Decider: ‘From the very first moment we started taping. We were like, “Good lord, this is going to be on the BBC?”

‘Cavalcade of filth, that’s what I would say. Flood of perversion.’

Strictly Come Dancing is on at 6.40pm on BBC One on Saturday.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK starts at 8pm on Thursday on BBC Three.

Game Of Thrones’ Jon Snow never forgave Sansa Stark for revealing Targaryen lineage secret, leaked script confirms

Game Of Thrones - Jon and Sansa
Jon didn’t get over Sansa betraying his trust by spilling his true heritage (Picture: HBO)

A new leaked script from Game Of Thrones has revealed that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) never got over sister Sansa (Sophie Turner) revealing his biggest secret.

In season 8, Jon made Sansa vow to never reveal his real parents were Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark – because that would reveal that he was actually the true heir to the Iron Throne.

He knew this revelation would mean disaster for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) his power hungry lover he’s sworn an oath to.

(It would also make her his aunt, which opens up a whole other heap of problems.).

But rather than stick to keeping her brother’s secret, Sansa eventually told Varys (Conleth Hill) aka The Master Of Whispers, whose deep connections have him knowing secrets all across Westeros.

Telling him this secret sparked a chain of events that led to Daenerys finding out the truth, accusing Varys of conspiring against her, and killing him with fire by dragon.

A script note found by fans after the official scripts for the final season leaked online revealed that Jon, who had pledged his allegiance to Dany regardless of his heritage.

It reads: ‘Jon stands in front of Sansa. He hasn’t entirely forgiven her for betraying the oath he made her swear in the godswood.

‘He knows she loves him. He knows she only wants what’s best for the North. But still…’

The revelation comes after the betrayal was seemingly overlooked in the final episodes (one of the many things that viewers have had a problem with in the final season).

In the end, Daenerys’ bloodthirsty ‘at any costs’ fight of the Iron Throne saw a city of people slain at her hand, and with plans to conquer the world, Jon had to betray his love in order to save the kingdom.

He was banished to serve out his days back at The Wall, with Sansa taking over as Queen of the North, and brother Bran ruling the new Six Kingdoms of Westeros.

Game Of Thrones is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.

The Chase’s Paul Sinha channels inner Madonna as co-star Jenny Ryan joins Celebrity X Factor

The Chase’s Paul Sinha is going to show off his vocals and serenade a player on an upcoming episode – with a Madonna classic, naturally.

In an exclusive clip from an upcoming episode, Metro.co.uk can reveal that The Sinnerman himself gives his take on La Isla Bonita after answering a question on the megastar.

Bradley Walsh looks baffled at the star’s efforts as he gets into the swing of the latin-inspired pop track, including a little bit of swaying.

He then gets into the swing of things as Bradley becomes his pal’s unwitting backing dancer, going full dad-dancer with closed eyes and finger guns as Paul continued.

They then snapped back to reality with the contestant simply telling them ‘stunning’ before Bradley moved on.

Maybe Paul is showing co-star Jenny Ryan (aka The Vixen) that she missed out on creating a The Chase supergroup after signing up to the upcoming Celebrity X Factor as a solo act?

Then again…maybe not.

It’s something we’d love to see though, seeing as ‘Dark Destroyer’ Shaun Wallace has also previously shown off his love for another singing diva, performing Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights.

The smart-alec squad seem to be a double threat in the making!

The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.

The Walking Dead season 10 premiere review: The show’s most confident opening in years

The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead returns on exciting form (Picture: AMC)

The Walking Dead lays emotional and explosive groundwork in the opening for season 10, weaving in exciting new elements while building on the best of what’s come before.

By the end of season nine, The Walking Dead found itself in a surprisingly healthy position after some enormous hurdles. Despite the departure of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and a time-jump to contend with, new showrunner Angela Kang found new life with Samantha Morton’s Alpha, a tighter focus, and by deviating from the show’s past tired structure.

This carries over to the season ten opener Lines We Cross, which feels like the show’s most confident premiere in years. While it perhaps won’t stand tall with the most memorable episodes, there’s a sense the show has a clearer, more stable, vision this time around – allowing it to travel at its own pace without the pressures of big shocks or revelations straight out the gate.

If you’re concerned this is code for a bore fest, there’s plenty of action to be found. It’s actually surprising how much of the season 10 trailer is pulled from the first episode, with scenes of survivors armed on the Oceanside beach serving as an introduction. It’s an arresting opening, which also shows how the survivors have become smarter and more efficient in their attacks – a far cry from the bullet spraying idiocy found in season eight.

The Walking Dead
Carol and Daryl are given some great moments in the opening episode (Picture: Fox)

The episode functions as a catch-up with the group as they’ve become accustomed to operating outside Whisperer boundary lines. There’s also more acknowledgement of what’s gone before, with the deaths of Carl, Jesus, and Eric along with Rick’s disappearance looming large for Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Aaron’s (Ross Marquand) motivations moving forward.

Always dependable Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) scenes are given room to breathe as they ride on their own adventure into the forest. The emphasis played on their dynamic is a promising sign they’ll be given some dramatic moments to come.

Interestingly, newer characters like Kelly (Angel Theory) and Connie (Lauren Ridloff) are given emotional moments which offer a far more interesting storyline than they’ve had before. Rosita’s (Christian Serratos) love triangle dynamic, the worst part of season nine, has also been spun into something more tolerable, which places Siddiq (Avi Nash) as a more pivotal character.

As it builds towards a sequence which lives up to Angela Kang’s promise of fire, The Walking Dead season 10’s opening salvo packs enough exciting strides to dissipate any worries season nine was a fluke. As a stage-setter episode, Lines We Cross is a promising starting pistol built for bigger thrills to come.

The Walking Dead season 10 kicks off Sunday 6 October in the US, and returns on Fox Monday 7 October in the UK.

Vikings star Katheryn Winnick has showered director Johan Renck with support following his Emmy success.

The 52-year-old recently scooped Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special accolade for his work on Chernobyl.

And it seems his buddy in Los Angeles is more than proud.

Taking to Instagram, Katheryn cheered the Swedish star on as she revealed he helped cast her in the History Channel hit.

Sharing a picture from the prestigious ceremony, she wrote: ‘Huge congrats to @JohanRenck for winning the Emmy for Chernobyl.

‘Meet the man who help cast me as Lagertha and our original VIKINGS visionary and director.’

Johan took the helm for the first three episode of the historical saga alongside producer Morgan O’Sullivan and creator Michael Hirst.

And while the series has been a huge success, it will soon be coming to an end following season six.

Hirst spoke about his decision to wrap up the show, telling Variety: ‘I always knew where I wanted the show to go and more or less where it would end if I was given the opportunity.

‘What I was trying to do was write the saga of Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons.’

Vikings' Katheryn Winnick

He continued: ‘After six seasons and 89 episodes, that’s what I felt — finally — I’d done. We stopped shooting the final episode in November last year and I felt that I’d said all I needed to say about Ragnar and his sons.’

The final season will air in two parts similar to the season five’s A and B split, which will see us continue the story through to 2020.

The writer added: ‘I told my saga, and I’d been very fortunate to be given that opportunity by MGM and History.

‘I had no reason to want to continue it beyond that. But, there are 20 new episodes to come.’

Vikings season six will return to the History Channel and Amazon Prime in Autumn this year.
